Yeah if they don't get in someone very good after Guardiola, they're in trouble, even with their financial might. Liverpool will be eclipsing our 20 soon :(
Don't worry mate, we will eclipse them then later on! Its a full cycle

Liverpool won’t sustain this success. Once this team “breaks up” after this year, they’ll be in trouble.

See, I'm not so sure about that mate. They keep proving us wrong.

"Wait until they're having to balance CL football with the league schedule, playing the way they do - they'll be knackered by January"> Didn't happen.

"Klopp is a serial bottler in finals, he's just bottled the biggest of them all - that was their best chance to win a major honour. Itll start falling apart now" > won the CL the following season and almost won the league at the same time.

"After coming so close to wining the title and failing, that might be the blow that breaks this team's spirit next season" > 11pts clear at the top at Christmas.

Klopp has made excellent signings. If I was a Liverpool fan, I wouldnt fear losing anyone from that starting 11 because I'd be confident Klopp will sign a great replacement. Likewise, like United, the Scum have got a ridiculously good tradition and reputation in the football world so now they're succeeding again they will be a HUGE draw for world class talent and prospects like say Jadon Sancho.

Liverpool's biggest threat, for me, is Klopp leaving. And if they're winning honours every season that might not happen because he genuinely seems to love life there. He's worshipped like a God by that lot.

As much as I hate them I have to say they are in a very, very good place right now in my opinion.

If the Dortmund situation has showed us anything is that the players under Klopp are playing out of their skin, shit will fall apart when he leaves. You can bet your last dollar on that players like TAA, Robinson ect ect won't be half the players they are today. It will probably start just before he leaves.

This is the City meltdown thread, not the Dippers appreciation thread. There's plenty of other threads for people to drool over Liverpool, I'm sure.

I tend to agree this isn’t a flash in the pan. What I do wonder is how they’ll cope when they have to replace the big names, that’s when things really do get tough and good managers become great ones.

From a United point of view I can see Liverpool winning 2 or 3 before we win another. Must be slightly galling for SAF to see that happen.

Lot of luck involved in their situation. Klopp didn't even want Salah, he asked for some German clogger instead but was overruled. If they didn’t sign Salah, none of this would have happened.
Seeing as Klopp has a veto on all transfers, I don't really see how this adds up. He might have preferred someone else, but he clearly was ok with the signing.

Also, I would say that Klopp not preferring Salah is a point in Liverpools favor, and not the other way around. It means that we have a good transfer-system in place, able to identify players that are off other clubs radar without working with them previously. This makes Liverpool less reliant on Klopp, not more. It doesn't indicate luck, but a well built and professional operation.

Klopps ability to build teams is extraordinary though, and he will obviously be huge loss. If he has signalled that he is not willing to extend his contract, I am certain Liverpool will already be looking for his successor, and considering the track record lately I think the club might be able to find another great fit.

Corrected to reflect many posts I've made on Liverpool boards earlier this decade. And one or two sneakily on here. :)

To be fair if its the club making these astute signings then the signings will outlast Klopp.
Points to sustainability

I’d probably look at Dortmund and us before you reassure yourself you can replace your best manager in decades. Re transfers and everything else Dortmund seem to be an equally “well run” club. Still went to shit after he left and they’ve been treading water, working their way through manager after manager ever since.

In Tuchel's first season dortmund managed a higher points total in the league than all but 1 season under Klopp. In the second they made CL QF(and went out in large part because of the terrorist attack on their bus) and won the german cup

After Tuchel they repeatedly bungled the choice of coach.

So yeah, of course it's important to get the right manager, but Liverpool should be fine as long as they don't feck it up. They won't need a genius to come in and rebuild the whole club

City fans on here and Bluemoon gone very quiet. What are their (sensible, ie not Pep out) thoughts? Play Foden, etc, more in league games and resting Sterling to focus on CL? Or too early for giving up on the league?

To let the worst rag team in a decade waltz into our house, play us off the fecking park, this lot from manager to players should be ashamed of themselves. fecking shite.
Wow. Not often I say this, but this has to be the worst I've seen from us in a very long time. This is old "typical City" stuff.
Angelino needs to Fcuk off now.

Pep being schooled by OGS.

EMBARRASING is an understatement.
our fans are dicks today

Iv seen fighting with each other
Keeping the ball
Now wasting time throwing things

Embarrassing
And to think we have mocked these W**NKERS all season
This is a fecking disgrace. Total car crash
45 passes to get to their penalty areas.

Lost the ball.

They do 2 passes and in on goal and score.

Who even cares?
Obviously their racist fans.
Absolutely fecking dire. feck off.
Pep was shown up or he has lost the dressing room
Nothing short of a fecking disgrace of a season. And I don't to hear "ah, but we were in the 3rd division 20 years ago" feck off with that, we are now the richest club in the world with the best manager. Getting schooled by that shower of red shite at home. feck off
Not our best performance, but who knows what would have happened without that c*nt Oliver deciding the result from an armchair in Middlesex?

Oh, and don't bother telling me we deserved to lose, if you can't see how bent VAR is, then you must be as myopic as PiGMOL.
Congrats Liverpool. We have given you (and the other lot) an early Christmas present (along with PGMOL and the rest). Although Second half was an improvement.
So, so poor.

Title gone.

When we’re out of ideas, put a fecking shitty floaty floaty ball in the box to our midget forwards.

feck off.
Carry on like this and Pep won’t last the season. Maybe if he stopped blowing smoke up United and Liverpool’s arse and worked on tactics then we’d still be in the title race.
Yes we deserved nothing. But Lindelof pen was game changer. It must be so dispiriting to play week in week out and know you’re getting feck all.
Sack everyone
This is a fcukin Audrey season and we were schooled today by a fcukin paper boy. Any no-mark with a couple of fast attackers can slice a Pep defence wide open.
fuxk off pep

no desire

what is the point of passing it for 10 minutes and the crossing it when nobody in the middle

shite
Time to go do something else. Seeing a smiling and smug bacon face at the end just capped it off nicely. That really was the icing on the turd.
Nice to see Sir Alex still haunts them…
Well that was a load of shite. Final nail in the coffin for our title hopes. I’m hibernating now.

fecking shambles that was, a fecking shambles :(

So disappointing across the park.
Utter shite. Worst City performance I saw in a long old time.
Any other manager, they’d be under pressure to be sacked
utter bollocks
Playing badly does not excuse var,a pen might have made all the difference
None of them were penalties so thats irrelevant - by the rules they aint penalties.

Stop making excuses for poor performances - if people do that we never get better

Don't do it to yourself mate.

There's absolutely no reason their team will break up any time soon.

Our best hope is Klopp goes off to manage Germany in 18months at earliest.

Pep might well go after this season too.

Thing is we need a huge overhaul of the squad.

2x CBs
2x FBs
2x mids
2x strikers
Plus a replacement for Sane and God forbid Raheem.

Probably close to 5-600m right there with maybe 200m recouped.

Angelino, Mendy need to go
David is at the end of his career
Dinho is close to the end
Aguero is close to the end
Sane likely off

I wouldn't give that rebuild job to Pep as he isn't likely to be here for more than this and possibly next season so do we put off the rebuild or let pep leave and trust the new guy to do it?
Yes, more money needs to be thrown.
Hate to say it but I think Pep had taken us as far as he can. It happened at Barca and Munich. We are not immune. We look worse than our first season under him. Yes injuries have crippled us, but it's not an excuse to churn out half a dozen poor displays that we have this season. All our big players have gone missing for top many games. Kev, Bernie, Raheem all playing well under their usual high standards. Write the season off and re build.
Make no mistake that rag side is fecking gash and they could have won by more. Shocking tactics and performance. Pep needs to get a fecking grip and change things up before we end up in a top 4 battle. Not looking forward to the Leicester match on the 21st if things don't improve they will fecking spank us.
Season is over for me. League gone. Cups not really much consolation. CL is a huge long shot with that team and another injury makes matters worse. Time for Foden to be given a run and Garcia surely has to get game time as well now. Pep needs to come up with Plan Bs. Too many teams are now working us out and too many times we have no answer. Lack of pace is killing us.
Big credit to Phelan (cant have been the paper boy), they set up just right with almost a front 4 to stifle our possession from the back and midfield.
We dont move the ball anywhere quick enough atm that's why Foden looks right when he comes on.
Bernie is outstanding for Portugal atm but looks crap for us. Feel sorry for David - last season turning into a let down.
No credit to Ole…
red jumper you say...
Referring to the man making the racist gestures. Unbelievable – accusing our own fans of racially abusing our own players!

I love it when teams think they have "dominated" when the other team sits back cleverly on a lead, and defends.

Every club seem to have it s own bunch of twats
What I mean is that normally the Bluemoon quotes are people foaming at the mouth typing "rag this" and "rags that" but these feel like they are focused on themselves rather than us which is a first. Usually the focus on United even though we have nothing to do with the match.

If you’re not mentioning the handball before half time, feck off
You don't build a dynasty by standing still saving a few £££ and then getting overtaken by hungrier teams. We look finished. Take KDB out of that bunch and we are barely Top 6 quality.
Today is not the day to come on this forum as the stupid cnuts and pretend managers will be out in force.

The PL and PiGMOL have exceeded themselves and got exactly what they wanted.
Ole talking bollocks here. Twice he said we’re the best in the world...
Siting in the car park , dont know what to say . So slow , no pace, no tactics beaten by a team playing under12's tactics of hit it long to the 3 fast kids up front.
I dont know what's happen to us perhaps the last two season have knackered the team.
Dont understand why foden wasnt used I love David Sliva but he seems so predictable nowadays.
We didnt seem to have any pace until we scored . I am worried that something seems wrong at City, might be the players are fed up with being screwed over by VAR game after game , I know I am ......oh well a few beers than a long drive home tomorrow.

No vinny

Key injuries

PIGMOL on a mission corrupting the game

Blue moon have never really been as entertaining as RAWK. God I miss the days of a good old RAWK meltdown.
