I've started implementing hour long nature/woods walks daily to refresh me mentally and it's the best I've felt since football was taken away.

If I'm now going to lose even that....

That's what I'm clinging to yeah.
The thousands and thousands of people that are just in self quarantine won’t have been tested again either. It’s probably a case of 14% of all hospital cases SO FAR have resulted in death. Hopefully many more are back on the streets healthy by next week.

Some things are more important sadly.
If you deny people the chance to excercise and get some natural light than we will go straight from a coronovirus pandemic to a mental breakdown pandemic and lose a significantly amount more people to suicide than even the worst case scenario of the virus, not to mention the health problems lack of natural light/abscene from the sun will cause.

I'd say pretty likely with there being a COBRA meeting at this time. Overdue.
The PM is going to speak to that nation at 20:30 about new measures so hopefully something big. I hope we don't get more wishy-washy but this is BO JO we are talking about.

FFS salmonellae woman.

As an aside, that is to me the single greatest skit in WWE.

I loved the part where austin couldn't reach a box and only got it at the third try, dumped the contents over booker and says 'I hope you like these, they were hard to come by'

Genius.

That is a severe extreme, and a ridiculous worst case scenario to try to compare. No one is saying that people are stopping natural light, it's simply not interacting with people & it's clear that many people cannot manage this.

Indeed! Do you know if having lifelong Asthma gives you 'vulnerable' status for stuff like shopping delivery etc?

I've heard people state that letters would be sent out but I'm not sure of the validity of this...
Depends on what you take, what dose you take and how often. I've put a link in the info only COVID thread for any fellow asthmatics.

I think letters are for asthma sufferers on heavier medication than the ventolins.

I know lots have far worse asthma than me but it doesn’t stop me feeling vulnerable for the first time in my whole life and it’s a sobering thought ... I’m not a kid anymore

Honestly, I would take any new research on this with a pinch of salt. Just like the chloroquine, they are just very basic study and in this case, I cannot even find the original source. All this seems to be stemming from one doctor who is just randomly quoting that 30% of patients in china/ S korea reported this, and not referencing any source for it.

Then they should implement rules for on the spot heavy fines for people (not living together) caught in more than groups of 2.

Denying people the chance to keep healthy both physically and mentally is going to cause huge issues down the line.

Look it doesn't matter, we all get it, I just didn't agree on the being terrified thing. It's fine. Each to their own.
Well, it does matter. This will end someday and some folk will look back and say 'See? Told you it'd be alright in the end' as they sit and enjoy a pint. Meanwhile those who have lost loved ones and those working within the health sector will feel the ramifications for many years to come.

I just don't take kindly to people shrugging this whole thing off like it's a bad flu. The lack of fear is what prompts people to not self-isolate when they should, and that annoys me because it's me that has deal with the potential consequences.

You not got windows that open? A garden?

It's not ideal but people are being over dramatic about being in lockdown. It's either that, or we have this virus for the next 2-3 years possibly.

I know plenty of people who have been self isolating since they found porn and computer games, they're pretty fine and don't seem to struggle mentally.

Suddenly everyone wants to exercise and go for long walks when they have never once been interested in those thing

Taleb, right as per usual
BA have specifically said they don't want a bailout as they have 9bn anyway so don't need it. Said the other airlines shouldn't get a bailout as its their own fault if they don't have the funds like they do. One way to get rid of the competition.

Btw, these same airlines are the ones who up prices when school holidays are about, up their prices during world cups. Taking what they can, and then asking for more. Absolute wankers.

Feel sorry for their staff, but the country shouldn't be bailing them this time.

Thanks, have checked the link but can't find anything about when Asthma is classified as 'vulnerable' etc.

In reality, anyone with chronic Asthma should certainly be in that category... I find it slightly baffling if that's not the case.

A nice gesture, but simply impractical to police.

It really isn't, not for a period of 3-4 weeks. Unless you feel the situation in Spain & Italy is worth the risk of having a little walk around the block or a quick 5k?

Since when did alcohol hand sanitiser go out of date? Found a couple bottles in the back of the bathroom cabinet but they’re 2017

Just one flaw in that story: countries have already imposed lockdowns weeks ago and no such instant collapse happened. People are much more resilient than you're suggesting. Some people are going to have to develop that resilience during the crisis.

Exactly, from a nation where we have some of the highest levels of obesity in the Western world. It's the emperor's new clothes!

I'm better than Messi (even though I'm not)
I get chronic sinusitis and my taste and smell are nearly always reduced with an attack making them disappear completely. Seems a normal symptom that one might have with this.
Do you get pain and pressure in your upper cheek bones that feels like it’s behind your eye? My sinuses are fecked but I’m not sure if this related pain.

- What about the 34yr old neutropaenic chemotherapy patient?
- What about the 17yr old with arthritis on immunosuppressing methotrexate long term?
- What about the 21yr old girl with cystic fibrosis?
- What about the 31yr old guy with chronically poorly controlled asthma who's already had 1 ITU stay in the past year?
- What about the 39yr old diabetic man?
- What about the 42 yr old liver transplant lady on anti-rejection medication?
- What about the 36yr old nurse in London who's currently ventilated previously being fit and well?

All these groups, except for the last one, are high risk.
I'm in this group (except double the age). Should I be expecting a letter this week about the 12 week shielding? I've not been able to get a clear answer from anyone about whether or not I'm high risk. My GP has been very wishy-washy about it, and I've not even been able get in contact with the rheumatologist.

It's ingredients react with oxygen, and most of the containers aren't airtight so you'll see an expiry date as to when it falls below a certain % of effectiveness (usually 90%). It'll have some impact due to the alcohol in it, but it won't be perfect. Wash your hands instead!

Yeah now you mention it, it is fairly unclear what they mean by 'vulnerable'.

I can see that 'extremely vulnerable' means those with cancer and organ transplants.

I suspect it is conditions like diabetes, COPD etc. If you're concerned, a quick call to your GP might just help clear things up so you can live with at least some peace of mind.

I have an unused bottle that expired in 2012. Is it safe to use or will my hands melt?

Are you on immunosuppressants? Then i would expect you to be in the 12 week category.
