That’s what I do.Just edit the players for career mode if they’re stupidly bad.

Definitely. I feel that the overall ratings sometimes mislead people into evaluating players in the game. I've had several occasions where I'd pick a player with a worse overall just because they have better stats in certain specific attributes (e.g. Akinola over Jozy Altidore as Akinola is quicker and a better dribbler).Would Fifa be better without overall ratings?

It doesn’t really make a difference does it, apart from discussion. OVR is just an indication, doesn’t affect how players perform in game.Definitely. By doing away with overalls, people wouldn't jump the gun when it comes to evaluating certain players.
Right, I was alluding to the discussion aspect of it mainly. It doesn’t really make a difference does it, apart from discussion. OVR is just an indication, doesn’t affect how players perform in game.
Wait that’s not true surely?79 for Maguire is peak. Was hurt reading that.
Thats not real. They’ve only released the top 100 which goes down to 84 (Haaland).79 for Maguire is peak. Was hurt reading that.
Henderson is as good as Pogba AND better than Leroy Sane! They released top 100 ratings, basically everyone from 93 (Messi, Ronaldo is 92) down to just 1 84 rated player (Haaland).
United players so far:
Martial not on yet, but likely 84.
- Bruno - 87
- Pogba - 86
- De Gea - 86
- Rashford - 85
Comparatively, liverpool...
CL winners (and treble) Bayern on the other hand...
- Van Dijk - 90
- Salah - 90
- Mane - 90
- Allison - 90
- TAA - 87
- Firmino - 87
- Fabinho - 87
- Robertson - 87
- Henderson - 86
- Wijnaldum - 85
Can't make this shit up Disgusting overrating on Liverpool players.
- Lewandowski - 91
- Neuer - 89
- Kimmich - 88
- Muller - 86
- Thiago - 85
- Gnarly- 85
- Sane - 85
Except it does because the overall is based on each attribute in respect of their position. Obviously a player might have better attributes for what you’re after with a lower overall because they’re crap elsewhere but in general overalls obviously do make a difference to how good the player is in game.It doesn’t really make a difference does it, apart from discussion. OVR is just an indication, doesn’t affect how players perform in game.
They should just hide all ratings/attributes. Game would be a much better experience.Would Fifa be better without overall ratings?
Last FIFA's I bought was 15 I believe and given FIFA 20 is on a ridiculous discount of 3 dollars, I thought this a good way to give it a go. Then I saw someone play FIFA 21 with the agile dribbling and it reminded me why I left FIFA in the first place. That's not football, it's a bunch of blokes on skates playing ice hockey. The over responsiveness and ball physics are just so absurd.Just seen a glimpse of the new features and whoever came up with "agile dribbling" can feck off How the feck is that shit even considered seriously? Players sliding all over the pitch with the ball close to their feet, who dribbles like that in real life ? Last FIFA I bought was 17 and I was wondering about 21 but I'll gladly pass
Maybe in career mode simulation, but apart from that - no. It’s literally just a number calculated by a weighted average from the stats, an indication. Müller for instance has an artificially high OVR because EA are unable to get his rating correct without giving him stats they don’t think he should have. Does that make him a better player ingame? No. One or two years ago they changed their algorithms for fullbacks OVR to make fullbacks higher rated in general. Did that make them better in game? No.Except it does because the overall is based on each attribute in respect of their position. Obviously a player might have better attributes for what you’re after with a lower overall because they’re crap elsewhere but in general overalls obviously do make a difference to how good the player is in game.
Absolutely.Would Fifa be better without overall ratings?
In a nutshell, I don't understand how they introduce an abomination like that. They market their game as being realistic but all they do is the opposite basically. Realistic cosmetic stuff you'll pay the attention too once (crowd animation for instance) and the most important thing is broken.Last FIFA's I bought was 15 I believe and given FIFA 20 is on a ridiculous discount of 3 dollars, I thought this a good way to give it a go. In fairness Sane was downgraded from 87 on the back of missing a season.Henderson is as good as Pogba AND better than Leroy Sane!
My theory is that football games got worse when outrageous skills that never actually get used in real football were put in the game.Last FIFA's I bought was 15 I believe and given FIFA 20 is on a ridiculous discount of 3 dollars, I thought this a good way to give it a go. I don't really see Fifa as a football sim anymore. It's just another COD/Fortnite style game now for kids to show off how good they are at playing it, and fair play I guess if that's the aim.My theory is that football games got worse when outrageous skills that never actually get used in real football were put in the game.
It'll be interesting to see if this trend continues, and what it does to FIFA. There's a lot of discontent with it, and a lot of long time players don't really buy it anymore, myself included. The reason I never got PES is because of that issue with having the actual teams, not just user generated versions of said teams. If PES manages to get the big boys to sign on with them, I think a lot of people might consider going that route. I certainly would be interested.By the way, I just learned that Bayern Munich are also fully licensed on PES. That may explain why they have surprisingly lower ratings.
No I think hes an 83. Saw it somewhere.https://www.sportbible.com/football...ale-to-be-a-79-rated-card-in-fifa-21-20200911
Any chance this could be true?! Seriously ballsy from FIFA if so, I feel like they're always really cautious when increasing or decreasing players OVRs?
Are all ratings released?Greenwood is a 77 rated RM.
Nah I saw it on a thing they released of most improved players. Are all ratings released?
