I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was tied into OGS, regardless of what you feel about Ole here, in or out, it's likely that if we are to ever achieve anything significant with Ole, it's going to take quite a bit of time, if ever, and Pogba is 27, I don't think he's fully committed to this project and wants instant results, or what he deems he should be getting for the calibre of player he thinks he is. Still, there was absolutely no reason to put this out there in the public, especially now, why not at least wait until the end of the season? Raiola is just ab absolute joke
Pogba is not good enough. Look at Bruno, it’s just pure class. Pogba might do it in Italy, but the PL is just not his level. Move him on.

Raiola can get another fat payslip and Paul can kick a ball for someone else, cool!

Anyway back to the footie.

You don't need to have two identical situations though - both situations show bad character from Pogba. Ferguson gave his opinion on the matter back when he was a youth player and that's made known. As for today, it's irrelevant why he wants to go (i.e. the fit not being right and all this) - what is more relevant is that he has allowed his spokesperson to disrespect the club time and time again. We can't apply the 18 year old excuse anymore, he knows better than to allow his agent to chronically talk shite on his behalf.

If he had an iota of professionalism or care for the club he'd actually quash the Raiola rubbish so that the dressing room, managers and media focus can return to being on the biggest game of our season so far. But I guarantee you he won't - because engineering a move away is his priority.
They don't have to be identical but here they are not even close to be similar.

We’ll always have those two months. You massive great throbber.
I can't even begin to pretend to understand what Romano is trying to convey here. February to April we were doing ok and he was injured. He came straight back in to the team in June/July after lockdown and was generally pretty decent all the way through to the end, so what calamity has befallen on to him in April that made it impossible for him to stay? If that was the case surely Ole would have known and planned the rest of the season accordingly?

Anyways, not that fussed. Let him go and put whatever funds we get for him towards Grealish &/or Sancho.

That would be some next level dillusion.

I'm not suggesting they are similar situations, but that both reflect bad character.

If this was a 'regular' company the day before a very important event, it would be seen as a sabotage or acting to the detriment of the company, shocking.

Hopefully we’ve already seen the last of him.

If they are not similar don't use the previous one to make a bad point about today.

Buh bye. Dick move to do this before an important game but then that only solidifies the belief he only cares about himself and makes me feel like we should all be happy when he's gone. We ve had some prima donna like behavior at the club before- but often backed up with some consistent level of performance. Lukaku had far more grounds to complain of some sort of disrespect than this guy. We dont need a player who hardly performs compared to many others, to dominate the news waves. That is bad to everyone who cares about the club and does put in a lot of effort.

Pogba wanted to leave and absolutely we all knew this for the last 2 years. His agent has been spouting nonsense for years and I suspect the more Ole was staying, the more Pogba was going. I have a funny feeling Martial won't be far behind him.....

I think his performances & Ole have already done that.
I still think there’s a truly great player in there and hope he heads back to Juve, has never seemed to fully find his position here as he did in that Juve midfield.
"that Juve midfield" is long gone. Good luck to him playing under Pirlo, if that materializes. Also, his best ever in United shirt has been under Ole, who has done all humanly possible to appease him. I don't know how much of this is Raiola and how much is Pogba but if he confirms it to Ole behind closed doors, if I were him, I would send him to show his skills to the u23s. And sell to the highest bidder, for whatever amount it may be. Let him shine and be that 'truly great player', don't care. Manchester United above any player and definitely above Mino f*****n Raiola!

It’s all very well and good but who’s going to stump up the sort of cash we would demand after a crippling pandemic? Barca and Madrid haven’t got the cash!

Would have to be a swap deal but with who?

To do this now considering the game we have tomorrow pretty much kills any goodwill left with both the fans and at United.

Will be nice to see the back of him and the fact he won't be missed is very telling of his time here.

@kouroux wrong translated again? Or not Pogba's fault that his agent, man on his payroll, is talking for him, once again?
The wrong translation was what it was at the time. This is different, Raiola being Raiola (an asshole to football clubs). That Paul wants to leave, it's not news. I'm not blind to that fact and have said I'm fine with it as long as the club gets a good deal and reinvest in the club.
What did you really expect from me  ?

At this point, comments like these read similar to, say, Phil Neville coming out saying he was really considering making a comeback with United, but the last couple of months changed his mind.

The faster we can free up the resources we’ve tied up in him and get in someone who can perform to the expected level with any sort of regularity, the better.

Why? Ole is the one manager who backed Pogba to the hilt and was also the manager under whom he produced his most striking form. Ole has tried more than most to fit Pogba in but there's only so much one person can do

I'm sure Rabiot, Ramsey and Bentancur would unlock Pogba's true abilities, of course under the guidance of top experienced manager Andrea Pirlo.

And let's not forget the Dybala bromance. JLingz can't compete.

his best ever season for United was clearly his first, no ifs buts or maybes there.
Pogba's first season: (league games) started 29, came on as sub in 1. Scored 5 and assisted 4 goals. Won 4 Man of the Match awards.
Pogba's first season under Ole (and Mou): started 34, came on as a sub in 1. Scored 13 and assisted 9. Won 7 Man of the Match awards.

I mean, he did win trophies in his first season but for me his personal best was clearly in Ole's caretaker period. Maybe that's just me though, I see that whoscored give him higher overall score in his first (7.72 against 7.31), which makes sense since the club lost less (ironically, won one game more).

It's very clearly because he's one of our worst performing midfielders and is now an option off the bench. Must be doing wonders for his impression of himself.

It’s a good job we don’t have crowds because it would’ve been toxic towards this arsehole for the last 9 months.

I feel bad for the next set of fans who have to put up with his half-arsed performances.

Diddums has had his nose put out of joint good and proper by the arrival of Fernandes. Silly bastard.

The similarities with Pogba and Lukaku. Both fair weather players ,who has and is doing well in the italian league. There are plenty of football folk out there that rate both but i have never rated either. Class is permanent Pogba is hot cold and mostly average. I heard weekend commentators on tv stating what a performance from pogba ,well i nearly spilt my drink. I do think they are watching a different game. He has never imposed himself physically and I'm sick and tired of his stop ,drag loose the ball moments. The truth is that Pogba is cold and wants OGS to bench him till winter is over plain and simple . His injury record last year is a disgrace. Hot weather training in dubia ? more clubbing more like it . Bye bye and it wasn't nice to have known you. Manchester United Club and fans this is a divorce everyone will be celebrating and can live with.

So...

Manchester United took him to England and helped him turn in to a professional footballer.
He left for free to Juventus.
Manchester United bought him back for a record fee.
He doesn’t give his all to the club.
Leaves for a bargain.

And still people defend him...
