I think I can say I've never seen a first choice attacker for United have as bad a season as Martial is having this year.

I honestly believe he's playing worse than Valencia did in 2012/13.

£200k a week for this waster. Unbelievable!

Impact sub for the rest of the season. You can’t trust this guy. All the skill and talent in the world but a sulky prick when the chips are down.

He's basically Juan Mata with a bit more strength, just a bit though. Likes the ball to be played to his feet, never makes run lazy fecker. Lazyily controls the ball - for every neat touch he has 3,4 lose touches which I can't believe aplyer can do. He's pushed from the ball too easily. And so naive/lazy with his passing, trying to find a run of whoever plays as a LB. On top of that he doesn't make any run and expect balls to be put into box.

I'll tell you what. He really is useless. If we had Ollie Watkins up front I'd be much happier. Rashford is another story, but at least he still seems dynamic and making runs on his day, Martial is just a walking legend but he's no fecking Berbatov, Zlatan or Messi to be allowed that. The worst thing is that I don't see a team to ever be in for him with such a lazy attitude. Will rot here for long with a long chunky contract as well.

I still see the same player as pre-lockdown in these performances. I would have thought there would be more acceptance that he needs to raise THAT level and that what he provided after lockdown was a mere projection of the level he could get too. I still see people that gauge him on projected possibilities.

These performances are the same player as then and the lack of confidence is compounding it and I'm not sitting there raging at it, I'm expecting it.

He needs a run of goals so badly to turn this around and he, in this state don't meet goals half way.

That's the end of this experiment of him being a first choice striker for us. Either start Cavani until the end of the season or on the first day of the transfer window, sign a centre forward. feck paying 100 million+ for Sancho. Even If we bought him for that type of money he'd have this idiot in the team

Arrogant, Lazy, Waste of space. Sick of him, prima donna, show some effort FFS!

The worrying thing is Ole seems petrified to upset him and haul him off.

Bring in Grealish to replace him

They don't just defend him, they also throw digs at us like "haters" and "agenda". So so cringy.
You stupid man. His hold up play scores goals. He is integral to the way we play. He is the best. You stupido el stupido who knows nothing about football.

I may be accused of making a knee-jerk statement, but I honestly don't believe that this is hyperbolic. That was one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a United player.

I have been a fan of his in the past, but that was a disgrace. What on Earth has happened to him this season? I'm starting to smell the coffee and agree with those that want him out of the club. Rashford, whose form has been a bit inconsistent, is a far better option for us on the left and as a centre forward, Martial is nowhere near good enough.

The biggest different for me as to why I want him gone is Cavani.

Seeing how he has come in and bust a gut from minute 1 has been infectious for the entire squad, same with Bruno. They are winners, they fight for absolute everything, no matter the opponent or how they’re playing.

Martial has been here nearly 6 years and I can count on 1 hand how many times I’ve thought he’s honestly cared about the club.

We need winners at this club, not passengers.

Players are entitled to be out of form or have a team collectively has a bad day. However, it's unforgivable when you don't at least try to exert your energy and give your all for the team and your team-mates. Bruno had an average game for his standards but you can see he gave his best.

Talent is not enough.

No way Ole takes him out of the team for a proper period. No chance.

Martial has terrible instincts, but Ole is to blame also. What fecking evidence was there on this pitch tonight of attacking chemistry and movement drills in effect.

I am deadly fecking serious that I would gave Lingard on in Martial's place every goddamn week

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Anthony Martial, 2-1 down in 89th minute during a title battle.

The difference between him and Cavani there
Cavani and dvdb LITERALLY run past him.

Run! It's the bare fecking minimum you lazy git.

I can take less talented players who give 100%, but his attitude is awful. And so visible, the other players must see it?

Terrible performance tonight. Awful this season. The lack of effort is embarrassing.

I actually questioned was I watching the same game as Ole when he got the full 90 minutes? He took off Greenwood who wasn't great to be fair but jesus he worked hard tracking back and helping the team

Ah Benito, another one of these posters with such low self esteem he goes from thread to thread trying to prove to lots of people on the internet what a perfect fan and person he is.
Wummy the leader of this crew.

It’s nauseating.

Always had hope that he could knit together the different skills of his game; dribbling, pace, hold up, finishing. But he's not going to. At LW all he knows how to do is cut inside and shoot[doesn't even get this far anymore] even if it means trying to get through a wall of 5 men and at #9 he doesn't press, doesn't make runs or get in behind, only wants ball to feet which he will 75% of the times lose due to the same misplaced pass attempt over and over again. Too easy to defend against and he's not addressing this using any demonstrable understanding of the game. He's flipping 25 now and has been here long enough.

I understand keeping Rashford on simply because he’s so much up his own backside that he believes he’ll always score at any given time and that confidence sometimes pays off, But martial is terrible at the moment and it’s getting worse, he can’t even make a simple pass his confidence is shot.
He is at a crossroads and as a striker himself ole is trying to play him into form but it’s not working and week by week he’s dying more and more.
Time for ole to have a rethink or we could lose him for good.

When you watch united training videos he trains at exactly the same level as well, no intensity at all.The most inconsistent player in the league is playing as striker for Utd.

Think the problem with Martial is that he just doesn’t have enough to his game as a striker. He’s good in one v ones and he’s good at scoring spectacular lower probability goals cutting in on his right and curling them in to the top corner. You don’t get too many chances one on one in the PL and scoring spectacular goals is unsustainable when it comes to consistency. Unless he can become a more dynamic forward his form is always going to be patchy. Pogba put in a nice ball across the 6 yard box tonight and Martial didn’t gamble. He needs to add a lot to his game.
See that's the problem. I've said similar things about this in the past. "He'll improve and reach his potential" or words to that effect. But it's beginning to feel like he's not going to reach the levels required any time soon and he has to be thrown off the proverbial bus, to borrow a Ferguson expression.

Oh seriously cut this sort of shit out.

He's the Man Utd number 9 and he's scored 4 goals from open play all season, 2 league goals and tonight he was an utter fecking disgrace.

His lack of energy or effort is an insult.

I don’t actually think he personally does too much wrong there.

Tuanzebe and Pogba should be dealing with that.
He gave the ball away that led to the chance. Then walked back lazily and does absolutely nothing to rectify his mistake.

He's a joke. No more a Manchester United player than I am.

Get with the program, Benito is better fan and person than you.
He’s in every thread, defending every player and the management just to prove this point to us all.

Him and Rashford should be playing for one position and that’s on the left. Neither can play on the right, and Martial isn’t good enough as a 9.
