Upset by the opinion of the people in England?

I was upset by his propensity to go to ground at any given opportunity rather than play football. He couldn't handle the change to a more physical type of football. He needs to take a serious look at himself before he starts having a go at others.

Hopefully he does better at Athletico and they take up the £48m option they have. I can't see Chelsea getting more than that anywhere else.

Alice didn't like Cobham / London despite what he gave her for Christmas, and now he's making sure he doesn't have to go back...

In fairness to Morata this happens to a lot of guys, can't see many not giving her what she wants:

In fairness to Morata he should have just said he didn't want to upset the Missus rather than blaming the whole country. Having seen the pics I would have understood.

He does not want to play for Chelsea? The feeling is mutual you mental midget.
Still think you guys missed out on Lukaku. He would have been more valued and loved at chelsea than he is being here and he would have been scoring more goals.

He just got home jacked by armed robbers while he was away with the spanish NT. His family were in the house during the robbery and are understandably very shook up by the events.

State of this world..

Not physically at least, thank god. But I imagine there must be some kind of psychological damage for people, especially women and children, who go through something like this.

Sold to Athletico in a permanent transfer. Never a Chelsea striker, good move for both parties.

Remember the debates about who was a better striker Lukaku or him?

Lukaku is hardly Pele but he might as well be in comparison to Moratta.

Morata is a lesson in how unfair life is. This man is a top level footballer despite being visibly awful in every way.

Lukaku is to Morata what Bruno is to Andreas Pereira. Miles and miles ahead.

Wish that CHelsea kept him. Morata and Werner up front in a true sense of false 9.

To be fair, I think at that point Morata wasn’t as much in the eye of everyone, and so people (myself included) thought that there was probably something there. That was about five or six years ago, however, and since then he moved to Chelsea and everyone saw just how crap he was. I’m no fan of Lukaku but he is much much better than Morata.

Werner would be proud of Morata miss from rebound. Marina mugged A.Madrid some 50mn for Morata proved how great she is in negotiations even after the season he had with chelsea.

170m has been spent on him by different teams over the years and he really is just terrible. Not even worth a tenth of that.

I think today's game completely captures what Morata is. The goal he scored was extremely clever from him. Stood in a position anticipating a rebound, however the second he got an idea where the ball would be heading, showed clever movement to slot home the ball. But the performance in 2nd half was terrible - rebound from pen, an instance near 6 yard box where he should have managed to turn and score and the late miss all proving costly for them

I feel sorry for him because he had depression and now a whole country is crushing him and has become a meme. He spoke recently on the radio and seemed confident but also on the verge of exploding.
He has done a good job, looking for spaces, pressing, combining but obviously the failures with the goal are brutal. In any case, by simple stubbornness, I would play the third game with him, with him or without a forward, something like a 4-6-0 with Oyarzabal.

He isn’t terrible. He’s always going to be judged by the golden era of Spanish players as are all the rest.
Fact is Spain will take a long time to produce the players of yesteryear

I don't know what's his problem. He has all the basic things in striker. Pace, good first touch, fantastic shot ,heading ability. But when under pressure he looked lost completely every basic thing.

If going gets tough he rarely overcome from it.The very good example of mentally fragile player who always want the comfort zone to perform very good level.

Barely worth a tenner tbh

Enrique’s weird loyalty to him will be his downfall because he’s getting sacked after this Tournament for sure

Not judging him by them just by himself.

He's awful, how he's played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe and won what he has is baffling.

If you had the power to make your opponent start Werner or Morata… who‘d you pick?
Morata by a mile. Werner contributes despite his finishing issues and his work-rate & attitude are top class - see the CL final when his decoy run created the space for Havertz to run into. Morata lets his head get down and he stops bothering to run in behind at the slightest setback.
