Thought he was great.
Him and Maguire as a CB pair looks like it could and should work. Brilliant signing.

Motm. DDG had the outstanding moment, but he dealt with everything well.
Literally missed his mark badly when Wolves should have scored, but otherwise perfect and calm. Perhaps it also would have been disallowed given he was pushed down by Saiss. Classy player, so many nice blocks. Many here have fooled themselves into believing Maguire is a top player, this is what it really looks like. Nice assist too! Luckily Maguire’s lacklustre defending against Trincao didn’t cost us.

Lindelaugh fans WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND. The number of times his speed and power intervened and made nothing of a long ball is proof that Lindelof is a joke. Varane is a fecking Rolls Royce Defender!

Very good game today. Looking forward to seeing his partnership flourishing.

That said, he got beaten all ends up for Wolves biggest chance, and was bailed out by a stunning double save from DDG. I see plenty of posters here Ignoring this, where they would've absolutely destroyed Lindelof if it had been him.
I thought that was a foul. Sains had both his hands on Varane's shoulder, basically leveraging him to jump and also completely stopping him from getting any leap. Have seen that given so many times. Very conveniently, wasn't even pointed by the commentary team.

He got outmuscled for the Saiss header saved by DdG but otherwise was perfect. When you see him for 90 mins like this you realize how good he is. Everything is on his terms.

Brilliant debut. But again I think Lindelof also would have great today. This is not the games where we need Varane over Victor.

Again, hope he settles down fast. Our Best player today.

I don't know when those are fouls and when not.

Not a foul for me, just weak defending. None of our players even appealed it. Other than that and one wayward pass he was very good though.

Yeah I was sure that was a foul too. Saiss put his hands on him and pushed off his shoulders to get above him (also pushing Varane down at the same time)

wonder if VAR would have called it if had been a goal

Missed a header from Saiss but overall very good. In regards to the header, it will show him the physicality of the league to which I’m sure he’ll adjust.

Did well except for getting bullied by Siasse for that double chance

Somehow produced an aura of calmness around him which is incredible considering how hectic that game was.
Brilliant debut, thankfully De Gea covered up for his only mistake.

Reactions in here would be slightly difference had Wolves scored, following him being bullied by Saiss but in general, I felt he was a rock. As others have said, dominant in the box and read the game well. Passing wasn't the best but then it was very sloppy all round. All in all, promising debut from Varane.

I was worried beforehand that Lindelof would play since a big tactic is give it to Traore cross to jiminez which results in a goal at some point
Thankfully the new cb pairing look bloody solid. Happy with that

How was he weak? Saiss had both his hands on his shoulders. It's not like he is superman who can lift off like that.

He was poorly beaten on that corner where De Gea had a worldie, but overall he was amazing

Classy performance. Slotted in seamlessly and is a huge upgrade on Lindelof (who is an excellent squad player).

A really good debut. 1 of not many positives, despite the win.

How in the absolute feck did we manage to get him?! Looks like he's going to be classy as always this season.
