I think one big contributing factor is them being fully aware that the only reason they were chosen was because of what their biggest rival achieved and not of their own importance

Hell it could have been any team Sunderland had more history then them for gods sake

Knowing that them sheikhs chose them to use our name and make clout has kinda warped their minds

Feel bad for them to be honest they became everything they claimed they weren't and then some

They all have that inner Berty, just lurking below the surface. Some of them are all twisted up inside with an unhealthy obsession and a dazzling array of conspiracy theories. It consumes them, like a snake eating itself.

Some of them have 25k posts on just the United thread alone. Which is why they have to start a new thread at the beginning of every season, because that thread is always on the very top of their forum page. Despite any success, they just cannot let it go.

You don't need to get club updates from MUFC anymore, just read the United thread on Bluemoon forum. Them lot are all over it 24-7. They must have subscriptions to Man Utd TV?

Kentblue, manimanc, Kaz7, madeyedscreamer, LongsightM13, ancoats, Vienna 70, waspish, jrb. You guys need to take a long hard look at yourselves. You have diligently spent over a decade of your lives on the United Thread. You are on there at 2am, saying 'bacon face' this and 'camel gob' that. It's like you've invented this bizarre world which is inhabited only by former United personnel. And you are all schoolboys in an episode of Grange Hill, from 1985.

Do something better with your lives. Phone your Mum or give the kids a cuddle. You guys are deeply messed up.

out of interest what do you define as history? as I'm not sure in what way Sunderland had more history than City, yes that had won more 1st Division league titles and both clubs we're formed around the same time but what other history is more history?

As of the time you were bought by the sheiks, Sunderland had 6 league titles to your 2.

So football history is just about league titles, interesting
Not entirely. Your history, for example, also (largely) involves being founded in the same city as United. This illustrious aspect of your history led to the sheiks buying your club and ploughing in over a billion pounds of transfer money. But for this glorious part of your history, City would still be stuck on 2 league titles.

Don't flatter yourself, I didn't support city for the trophies and I doubt the Sheiks were that bothered about anything to do with United when purchasing City as they also looked at Newcastle, and football history is far more than just titles as for example if it wasn't for City there is a decent chance United could have folded and then there is Manchester Central who could also have scuppered United way back when

Just switched onto their Champions League game tonight. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more dire atmosphere for a European night. Its like a testimonial. It’s just embarrassing.

You're having an absolute laugh and kidding yourself if you don't think you being our neighbours wasn't a MASSIVE reason you got chosen for the lottery win. They wanted to replicate great local rivalries. It was a huge factor, just embrace it and own it.

My mistake. Were it not for United, the sheiks might have bought Newcastle instead, and Newcastle would be nearing double figures in titles, while City would be stuck on 2.

I just checked out the site to see the difference between the United thread and other similar threads. These threads are all 2 months old.

Chelsea - 26 pages, 252 posts.
Liverpool - 75 pages, 746 posts.
Spurs - 23 pages, 220 posts.
Arsenal - 36 pages, 365 posts.
Leeds - 7 pages, 69 posts.
Celtic - 27 pages, 263 posts
PSG - 24 pages, 234 posts.
Barca - 9 pages - 86 posts.
United - 428 pages, 4280 posts.
I think 3500 of those pages were them celebrating the signing of Ronaldo and gloating on the Utd thread

More than likely, but when I started supporting city 40 years ago it wasn't for what they had won in the past and if they were still stuck on 2 league titles of still be supporting them as would many others, most teams don't have fans who support clubs for winning trophies and most have a rich history even without counting trophies, if I'd wanted to be a trophy hunter i'd have been a Liverpool fan back in the early 80's

After Pep's comments, their Etihad Atmosphere thread 20/21 (I can't believe they have an "atmosphere" thread....but not only that, they have one for each season!)

That'll go down well
Well Pep begging for fans to come to Saturday’s game has really helped our image ffs! …… This interview will linger. As a vet supporter of 50 years watching I think I’ll cope. But seriously embarrassing.
he has a point , my ticket was £17.50 tonight, embarrassing the amount of empty seats
I don't care what other fans think. If it gets a full house it's worth it.
Our songs are getting fecking tedious, aren’t they? We need some new ones, gets boring listening to the same songs we’ve been singing for years.
There are times when he should think carefully about what he says regarding the fans. Comments like that will get a lot of people’s backs ups.
don’t want to sound like a member of the song police, but the choice of songs from the singing sections don’t help or allow the rest of the crowd to join in at times . Just scored and I could hear the Dzeko chant, United songs and a yaya Toure one. Why not hey Jude or more city related songs?.
Our support is shocking. What more could our club do to get lazy arses down to the ground? We have a wonderful team and the best manager in the world. We have never witnessed this level of football before.

And the vast majority there tonight didn’t make a sound.
He doesn’t get us, never has and never will.
This one is brilliant.......Tickets were available for £17.50 last night but he wants them to be more affordable!
don’t blame pep tbh, best team in the world deserves a full crowd every game. maybe if ticket prices were more affordable…

Lack of Computer courses is the problem....
Or maybe if our fans could buy tickets without needing an IT degree?
Pep is playing 4D chess with the fans....
To be honest, I don't think he was complaining about the turnout which was pretty good actually. It seems like he's talking more about the atmosphere when he makes these sorts of comments.
Desperate to win it, but not desperate to win it....
Chumps League, it's a no from me.
They had 53,000 last night apparently according to CEO of Specsavers...
It was a great attendance. This is a midweek cup game. City never have filled the ground for midweek games, or very rarely. I reckon there were about 2k empty seats in the city end, no more.
They are still in Covid lockdown....
We are the champions FFS. First home game after nearly two years.
City fans are from Manchester.....
Tried to fly over for tonight. Would have cost me 500 quid for 3 of us, not counting tickets.
Some got really lucky with a bargain ticket once in a lifetime price....
My ticket tonight was £17.50 so I’m not sure you can blame it on the price.

Not defending the clubs shocking handling of e-tickets this season though.
They've all lost their jobs apparently....
During which people have lost jobs or have reduced income.

I’m alright Jack.

It's because the stewards are too violent...It's not safe to go to the ground.
I know where you're coming from but issues run deeper with some of us. Over officious stewarding. Surrounded by tourists who aren't arsed. Just a couple of personal experiences there.
Even though they've all lost their jobs and don't have a computer degree to order tickets and can't afford £17.50, they all still managed to buy a ticket but simply couldn't make it....
It would help but many seats are already bought but fans don’t turn up. Lazy.
I thought they all lived in Manchester....should be able to get home in 20 minutes.....apparently fans aren't ready to go back to live footy. They need some live footy watching lessons first.
It's not the match ticket price that's the problem, it's getting to the Etihad mid week for a late ko then getting home at god knows what time.

Throw in the Pandemic and the fact lots of Fans aren't ready to go back to live footy.

And if it wasn't for john Henry Davies and ironically Man City donations your club might not exist and Sunderland might have had your success

Just imagine, for one moment, him saying this as the coach of Bayern or Barca? Brutal.
Its humiliating. An absolute embarrassment for a club that has thrown literally everything at being relevant. Supporters groups talking about covid and childcare it's absolutely laughable. A very successful middle Eastern business, a nothing club

City fans could only dream of something like this, 10 mins before kick off on Saturday.

It's hard though because fans travelling from the UAE would have to travel for hours to see their local club.

Difference between atmosphere an actual empty seats.
Chelsea fans were upset with Mourinho one time back in 2015 when, after a game away at QPR of all teams, said he wishes to have an atmosphere at the Bridge similar what he'd just experienced at Loftus Road. I think Klopp said something similar about Anfield a few years ago. Most big clubs have problems with atmosphere in way or another, some have it worse than others, but I can't think of any other club who win major trophies regularly, that have such a big problem with attendance.

Ha ha City fans clogging up the talk shows to tell everybody how hard it is to get tickets and banging on about have
ind 32,000 at Maine Road (capacity 80,000) in the third division. That obviously included away fans too. What ever spin they put in it, they just aren’t a big enough club. Only ‘local working class fans’, well a bloke called Talksport from Blackpool and another from Harrogate which isn’t local. They cannot defend it, their own manager begging for fans. They may put on free buses from Stockport this Saturday.

What makes it worse is Man City have invested so much money in the community and on the brand image of the club to increase its popularity!
