WTF are these comments? He played well when he came on, almost scored, played three top class passes that opened up the flanks, linked well with Sancho, won headers, got back in position.

We didn’t win equals Pogbas fault apparently. Baffling.

Though he was excellent when he came on. He obviously should be starting but we still haven’t figured out how to make it work.

I don't think he was bad as well. Should have come in early.

This will be his last season with us, no way will be sign a new contract when he could be winning things elsewhere.

We needed to be challenging for trophies to convince him to stay, that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Which team is he going to that is guaranteed to win the big trophies? PSG are the only club that could afford him and give him domestic domination. But they are stacked and I don't see them really needing a Pogba type of player.

Spot on. He speeded up the football instantly and linked with the attackers better than all of our midfield did while also nearly scoring himself.
Benched for no reason.

he can sign a pre contract with an overseas team in January, so anyone can afford him, if they can meet his wage demands.

He was poor on Thursday and hasn’t been great for the past three games or so, plus we played Wednesday. I’ve no issue with him starting on the bench. But the comments here are bizarre. Like posters didn’t watch the game just saw the result and jumped in this thread. Totally agree that he brought the tempo up. He played well.

So which team is signing him that guarantees big trophies? Real Madrid and Juventus definitely are not favourites for anything at the moment.

On international duty now so cue for his agent to feed media with stuff now he will leave the club and needs to play for a team that can compete for top honours and a coach that knows how to play him.

Can’t argue with any of that

So refreshing to see a midfielder that can pass. I don't know why Ole is so intent on giving him his "freedom". Play this man in CM. I'd rather play him and concede from his mistakes than play Fred and concede from his mistakes. Scott doesn't make mistakes because he doesn't involve himself. It would be funny as shit if Pogba would hide just like Scott for one game just to make a statement.

This. He probably deserved a game on the bench given he hasn't been up to the level we've seen in the last few games but it's bizarre seeing him scapegoated. None of the three subs Ole put on really had the effect that we needed (albeit Sancho probably had his best 30 mins in a Utd shirt) and the rhythm we had in the first half was gone completely by the time Pogba was on. It's unfair for us to be expecting him to create something out of nothing for us as usual when he's thrown in the mix once we've conceded and in a pivot with a McTominay who was pretty crap over the course of the 90 mins.

He literally played in midfield last game against Villareal, and three games before that in completely free role as left midfielder and it was his poorest run of form since start of season ffs

I meant play him in the pivot next to someone and not from the left tucking in. We need someone that can take off the ball of our defenders and do something with in. That's Paul or Matic and should never ever be McTominay like vs Villareal.

Anyone who's watched Pogba over the past 5 years should know what we have...sublime at times, a liability at others but at a the price of a 'world class' star...whether he's worth it is up for debate but it's completely unsurprising what we're seeing.

He did, under Mourinho, against Valencia. It wasn't that funny.

I love the man. But he looked like he's not up to fight this time. Don't know what's going on.

But he did produce more attacking quality.

Pogba was excellent today in his few minutes -- like what you expect to see from him and rarely do. One spectacular pass, a few nice attempts at goal, always present, always active.

I was a bit harsh in the heat of the moment after the final whistle, he wasn't gash, but he wasn't as good as he can be either.

He is actually good at playing from deep and running into the box late in these kind of games.

But, obviously, he would not accept the sub role.

I love Pogs but he is one of our biggest problems. There is no way we should have to play Scott and Fred but they exist in some way because of Pogs. He has the attributes to be the best CDM in world football and we shouldn't have to be constantly have discussions about the midfield. We have almost created a narrative that he needs a Kante in order to get the best out of him. So you spend 80m on him, then need to spend another 80m say on Rice to make it work? Same principle as with Harry. Harry looks no better with Varane as for me, it was never about Lindelof solely.

We have created the McFreds not because of their failings but because of the failings of other players whose ceilings are much higher but have failed to deliver. In the final, Scott actually outplayed Pogs, that should never happen if we want to win things....

The one question I have: Is there a manager, or player out there who can make a midfield with Pogba and Fernandes work? Pogba has had good games on the left, but I'm thinking specifically with him as part of a midfield two behind Bruno.

Realistically, Rashford and Sancho should have the left sided forward position covered between them. Pogba will most likely leave on a free regardless, but if he were to stay, we have to make it work with him in the pivot. There isn't room anywhere else.

He has the attributes to be the best attacking midfielder in the world but definitely not the best CDM for me. He lacks the defensive in, industry and tenacity required for that role.

Was on Mina. I thought it was pretty good technique too. Should have gone triple suplex Kurt Angke style.

Was an idiotic and unnecessary thing to do at that moment imo. This was in the last 5 minutes of the game and even though he lost the ball, we had them high up the pitch and were ready to put Townsend under pressure. But with that foul Everton could reorganise, won another 30seconds or more until play went on and we struggled to come that high up the field afterwards.
