I was two games away from breaking the Utd clean sheet record from 2008 but then Liverpool away came along
It's good fun if you stick with it. I waited 6 months for an offer and ended up in the second division of Holland. Think I got lucky!Just a week into my unemployed save and despite loading all the leagues in Europe, my first offer comes from Llanelli Town in Wales semi-pro team in Welsh 2nd division.
Had envisaged starting abroad but decided to get stuck in earlier, rather than wait for something else. So Wales it is!
Predicted to finish midtable and I'm 4th after 10 games. Mixing it up between a wingplay 4-4-2 and a counter attacking 4-4-1-1.
So bizarre going from managing United in my last save, with a coaching/scouting/medical team of probably around 60+ staff, to just a part time crew of about 5 staff members.

You don't appear to be on the club legends list though...I've actually played for them in real life
No way - hope I can do them justice!I've actually played for them in real life
I made 4 appearances in total. They signed me from Porthmadog who were Welsh Premier league at the time. I never made an appearance for them though. No way - hope I can do them justice!
Although let's be honest, I'm dropping them the moment a better offer comes in...
I'm quite enjoying playing with Cefn Druids, I started with no qualifications and a Sunday League player.Just a week into my unemployed save and despite loading all the leagues in Europe, my first offer comes from Llanelli Town in Wales semi-pro team in Welsh 2nd division.

On my journeyman save, they have now won 21 out of 22 games, there is absolutely no stopping them.I hate Bayern, a lot. Just ran them so close for the league after a pretty incredible run with RB Leipzig and it still wasn't enough, lost the league on goal difference +1.
I was playing as Borussia MunchingGladMan in 21. Not sure if it helps, but I used to switch it up for Bayern. Went high line, high pressing, quick tempo, focusing on short and vertical passing. The idea is that we were slightly open but we'd focus on being able to hit them on the counter or push them back every time we got the ball.Next game against Bayern, next loss. German cup quarter-final, this time 1-2, but we got off easy with that one. Neither can my team deal with Bayern's aggressive pressing nor with their marauding fullbacks. Davies and Kimmich are just running riot and not even man marking them with my wingers helped. But hey going from 6-1 to 3-1 to 2-1 is progress I feel, maybe next time we'll manage a draw.
In 21 Bayern was shit, I regularly beat them with ease. The meta shifted and patch 22.3 I feel like Nagelsmann is net new Klopp and Bayern the new Liverpool, they also won the CL with ease in the first season. They are just brutal in FM22 in the current ME version.I was playing as Borussia MunchingGladMan in 21. Not sure if it helps, but I used to switch it up for Bayern. It was the only way I was able to beat them. Anything else and I got stomped.
They have sold a lot this summer window and not really replaced so another chance if my side can kick on a bit. I won’t hold my breath though. On my journeyman save, they have now won 21 out of 22 games, there is absolutely no stopping them.
Depends what you have around them, and whether the players in the role are suited to the job.Does anyone have any advice on why my box to box midfielders tend to perform poorly in a 433 gengenpress. It’s a pretty standard high intensity pressing system, with a mezzala, B2B then a DLP behind them.
I’m thinking of changing the defensive midfielder to the role of DM or BWM, but I don’t see why a B2B would have poor ratings in this system, it’s perfect for them.
I am way out performing my squad ability, but it just annoys me to see those two positions always rated lower than a 7 on average, despite winning multiple league titles in a row.
Glad you stuck with this. It must be so satisfying to work through those tough years and be getting such good results now!Weymouth Update:
The finish to last season that saw us moved away from the drop zone and finishing a remarkable 13th gave me a good chance to build on that and kick on. Pre-season was decent, beating Bolton and Stevenage of League One and I thought that a good start would be forthcoming.
first 2 games:
Oldham 3-2 Weymouth
Weymouth 1-3 Dover.
Annoying, but I wasn't displeased with either performance, in fact, we should have won both games.
We then travelled to Dagenham and I feared the worst. It was our first Tuesday night game. with a very small, part time side, you can imagine the sort of performances we tend to offer in those games.
Dag & Red 2-3 Weymouth and we were off and running.
After the first win, we are playing well.....no, we are perfoming brilliantly. I got offered a new contract in September and I only signed a new one in April. We are top of the league after 17 games and just beat Barrow to leapfrog them.
Next up is away to Stevenage in the first round of the FA Cup. (But first, I have to walk the dog)
BelottiL.Moscow update:
My reward for finishing ahead of Fiorentina in the Europa Conference group was a bye...until the next round I was drawn against Fiorentina who promptly knocked me out. 1-0 away loss and then a frustrating 0-0 draw at home. Belotti would have scored, I'm sure of it.
Ive gone with a CM trio of a B2B, attacking AP and defensive BWM. In my head it made sense that one was defensive and one was attacking so they wouldn’t get in each other’s way, and the B2B works between them in that support role. The players are playing in preferred roles and there shouldn’t be anything wrong with what is around them, everyone else has really high ratings and the tactics are definitely strong. I’m going to try switching them and having a pure DM ball winner type, then my DLP as a CM.Depends what you have around them, and whether the players in the role are suited to the job.
That’s kind of how I was viewing it but with a playmaker in the DM role, as it suited the players that I had more. We’ll see how it goes with the playmaker further up and the ball winner at DM, hopefully it doesn’t feck up my champions league run.Ive gone with a CM trio of a B2B, attacking AP and defensive BWM. Maybe try an RPM in the CM slot then? So you can keep the intensity while embodying both roles? The players are playing in preferred roles and there shouldn’t be anything wrong with what is around them, everyone else has really high ratings and the tactics are definitely strong. There seems to be a massive lack of B2B regens coming through, so this would probably benefit me if it works.
You have no idea mate.Glad you stuck with this. It must be so satisfying to work through those tough years and be getting such good results now!
Not sure I’ve got the players for a RPM at the moment but I seem to have got some decent performances from my DM so far, so I’m going to stick with this and see how it goes.Maybe try an RPM in the CM slot then? So you can keep the intensity while embodying both roles?
A DLP feels kinda static in a high intensity system. Just my opinion.
You could also try keeping the BBM and alternating the DM role.
And perhaps switching the MEZ to an AP.
I usually try to have just one roaming role in midfield.
I personally use a slight variation of this, but mine is more possession-oriented. So, it's a HB in the DM role, DLP in the CM role and a BBM next to him, who with Personal Instructions plays a hybrid 8/10 sort of role.
Stay with Bremen! The quality of loans you can bring in with Cl football will be tremendous. Lots of wonder kids in South America with release clauses to be scouted too.And Bayern wins the fecking treble, another CL win against PSG, on penalties this time.
After some further inspection I actually decided against the Sevilla job, I want to take that year of CL football at Bremen and let my contract run out, after that I'm going to wait what offers come.
I'm also a fan of BWM this year. I have always used either DLP (D) or a DM (D) in the DM spot but this year I really like the BWM role. I pair mine with a BTB and DLP (S)Ive gone with a CM trio of a B2B, attacking AP and defensive BWM. One thing I've not had great success with is using fullbacks on any other role than FB (S). Pretty much everything else makes me leak goals.
Massive game there! Is there just the 1 promotion place? What a turnaround.
30 games gone in the season and we are top of the National League by 1 point from Crawley in second. the gap to 3rd is then 6 points so we are starting to pull away and it's looking like we might actually do this. In addition, we are in the 5th round of the FA Trophy, with a nice looking tie away to South Shields in the National League North.
I like to keep a small squad, and to be fair with my budget I don't have much choice. So I aim to have 2 very similar players for each key position and a couple of utility players that can plug holes. I've run in to three match postponements this season, plus the trophy run so I have just had a very tricky period of 4 games in 12 days with a part time, threadbare squad. 12 points thank you very much.
We now have a very well earned week off before our next game......Crawley away.
Yeah huge game. I have my daughter until 12 and then I'll load up.Massive game there! Is there just the 1 promotion place?
