i like their masi boost button on the steering wheel. it emits a high pitched whining noise to race control whenever max feels he needs a boost in the race and will save wheatley the time having to do it.

looking forward to seeing what mercedes have up their sleeve now or if red bull have stolen a march on them.

Seeking refuge from the cat punting thread I saw this one being active...only to find the same fanboi shit as 2 months ago and the season hasn't even started. Caf is great these days innit..

Awful lighting for their photos tbh, you can barely make out any detail - perhaps on purpose.

Were you also wasting your weekends from 2014 through to 2020 when the race and championship outcomes were basically predetermined?

no. it was shit. i dipped in and out of f1, except for the rosberg season, catching the odd race that interested me or if i had nothing better to do. i agree anyone dominating any sport is crap but for me that wasn’t the way to end it.

i’ll probably go back to watching it like that again this season or trying to just enjoy the races as isolated spectacles.

Bit surprised that more has not been made of this.
I have just read the story on sky sports.
Makes me even more annoyed about the way that Lewis Hamilton was robbed of his 8th WC by collusion between Massi and Wheatley.
Ok. The outcome of that last race is not going to change.
But it and Max WC was and will always be tainted.

I will never understand how, outside of matchday threads, we can have decent conversations in the football forum. Then you have the F1 thread and you get "cult", "fanboy", "cry more" and in general shit that looks like TikTok comments by 13 year olds.

Not really difficult to understand. A united forum full of united fans can have decent conversations about football and about united. Unfortunately some people in this thread are as tribal with F1 as they are with football.

I said this about the Haas reveal last week, we're not going to see anything but livery launches until the first test. No team is going to give their competitors a head start on what their philosophy and approach is to the new regulations.

Hang on a minute the bits bolded do not happen, the match day threads on the whole are toxic, even if we are winning and plying well.

That's a joke when people are going 200+ kmh on the autobahn in the same rain without any radio to tell them what's infront of them (nor flags or stewards or anything). F1 spray more because of F1's formula, not because of some unwritten rule that fast cars spray more. People go 200+ on the autobahn in the same rain every day. Le Mans carries on too.

But none of that matters. If you can't hold a race, don't have a race. They didn't.

They had a parade. It's them calling it a race and counting it as race and telling the world we ran that race when everyone saw what happend that is the unforgivable bit.

Edit: It´s even more of a joke once one realises that the most dangerous spot of Spa, the spot someone died not too long ago, is blindsided anyway, no matter the weather. Somehow that's not enough to cancel races though.
Cars go 200+ on the autobahn and race at Le Mans in heavy rain because they're not open wheelers and don't produce the same kind of spray that F1 cars do. You seem to acknowledge that but still use it as an example as to why it's a joke not to go ahead with the F1 race, which seems pretty strange. Or am I completely misunderstanding you?

Your Eau Rouge comparison is a terrible comparison as well as it's not similar in any way.

I like it when act like your above this when you're one of the worst at this. Look at the last page or 2 calling people fanboys and calling most of Lewis titles fixed. You're just as bad as the fanboys.

To be fair it's no different than supporting 2 different football teams. F1 has definitely become more tribal over the last few years.

I never said his titles were fixed though did I? I said the outcome was predetermined, which it was. Because Mercedes had a much better car than everyone else. If what you took from that is that I was saying his titles were fixed shows everything we need to know about you.

It's funny, the people who seem to get upset about words like fanboy being thrown about are usually the ones it most applies to. I do enjoy how such an innocuous word is so triggering to some in this thread.

Perhaps the Formula could include aero to reduce spray? But that isn't even my point. My point was if you don't have a race don't go acting like you did. That's all. It's not really relevant whether I think it's a joke to schedule 22 races and not be prepared for rain... (In an age where rain suddenly means no racing).

And it's not Eau Rouge I was on about but that isn't relevant either.

Using fanboy to troll people and then think it's funny when they get annoyed at you is just as bad not funny. You dislike Lewis just as much as people like him in this thread. Which is fine nothing wrong in that, dislike him but don't act like you don't or your objective when you're not.

I'm sorry what on earth are you talking about. The Manchester United forum is the most toxic place on this forum.

Only reason it's probably not as toxic now is that we all agree we are shit and all the players are equally shit so there's probably a cease fire at the moment till the new manager is hired... then it will be Poch fan boys Vs ETH cultis and Donny fans saying he's better for us than pogba and martial fans saying he should be number 9 for us till he retires.

That aero is called fender....what you're talking about is simply proposterous .

Your initial point was that we were suddenly going into races not know if there was a race. And you sited spa as why that was so and 70 years of rain at spa means the race should never be cancelled due to rain. Which I found utterly crazy .

Yeah I'm not going to discuss posts that state fenders are aero. Never mind. Have fun this season.

You're the one comparing le man cars in the rain vs f1 cars and wondering why it cant be replicated? And yes fenders are certainly a part of an aero package for any vehicle that uses them the fact that you dont seem to think they are is incredibly strange, as have most of your post in here today

Yeah it's a fair point. The football forum is raging every match day and has been viciously toxic for most of the time over the last 10 years under 4 different managers. Right now it's a kind of nihilistic wasteground while the tribes wait to find out who they're going to bat for.

I said they could add areo to reduce the spray. You introduced fenders. Fenders are as much part of "the aero package" of a car that uses them as any other part of bodywork is. I have no interest in any further discussion here to be honest when every point I make is taken out of context and ridiculed in an obnoxious manner. Again, have a nice season.
