If my grandmother had wheels...

If anything, ETH should be frustrated with himself. He'd have seen last season's games and how our players play.

Based on that, he should've asked for a striker signing to be done as soon as he joined. Not wait for the two thrashings before rushing to buy Casemiro and Antony.

"Man, at first, yes. I found out well before they announced it. A few months before, we had already talked, me and him," Fred replied."

Ten Hag should hang Homelanders no.7 shirt ala Hell's Kitchen style (with burning profile pic and all) and give the number to Garnacho.

I will never understand why he gave the wanker the armband vs Villa after what had happened in pre season, against Rayo and then against Spurs. What was he thinking and expecting? Hopefully he learns from this and becomes more ruthless in dealing with cnuts.

Whether he meant it or not, I think it was a genius move in hindsight. It makes the whole allegation of him being 'disrespectful' towards Ronaldo seem like a whole load of tosh.

Ronaldo said the 'truth' will come out. Maybe TH knew something like this was brewing and giving him the captaincy was to show if he was blamed for anything, it couldnt be a lack of support.

My opinion of this man was extremely high last week. In the last 7 days, this man has turned into my favourite person in history.

We lost the game with sourpuss stinking up the place for 90 mins. 3 crucial points dropped. I really don't see the genius part here.

ETH should've binned him off either after the pre season or at the very latest after the Spurs debacle. Letting him back into the fold with 4 consecutive 90 mins and then the armband was idiotic.

He's getting pissed on by a wanker he trusted with the captaincy a week ago. This shitshow could've been avoided if ETH didn't give him so many second chances.

We're not exactly blessed with strikers at the moment. So it was understandable why he was played.

He actually played a blinder here.

I personally thought he handed Ronaldo well. we literally would have had to get a season out of him so he dropped him and played tough with him, while at same times loads of injuries so had to use him, now Ronaldo done all this, and it's now going to enforce his authority even more once they bin him, and he doesn't have to deal with the massive elephant in the room anymore.

Is there anyone actually criticizing ETH on here for the way he had handled this? I would very much like to attack those posts.

I’d like to think every United fan is behind ETH. There may be some who are sympathetic to Ronaldo but if you gave them the hypothetical scenario of ‘Ronaldo or ETH. Who has to go’, they’d absolutely say Ronaldo goes.

The club need to give him a striker. We are creating chances but we can't finish. We missed lots of sitters this season.

We should move up a notch after WC if he had the striker he wants. He was asking for the striker last summer but we failed to sign one and keep Ronaldo. What a disaster it proves now.

Hope the idiots at old trafford dont sing Ronaldo's name in foreseeable future
It will send a wrong message.

Club must back this man for as long as he deserves it.

It doesn't work like that though. If Ronaldo wasn't given any kind of opportunity, then people would have claimed that Ronaldo was never given a chance to show what he can do. Now, it's completely on Ronaldo. He was given lot of opportunities, trusted him with captaincy and told multiple times that he is part of the plan. What more can a manager do ?

He is such a cry baby. Don't know why anyone would release something like this just before a WC . He still has another 6 months in his contract.

He's handled it expertly. Ronaldo pissed over himself with his interview and ETH comes out of it looking like the man in charge. Wonderful.

IMHO, he has handled this Ronaldo situation exceedingly well. I can only think of how Mou or Ole would have tackled this (2 extremes), and it makes me even more confident that we have got the right man. People saying he made a poor decision giving Ronaldo the captaincy, don’t realise he played a blinder there.

There is only 1 person coming out of this entire situation looking like an idiot, and we all know who he is.

Exactly. If we had the same scoring issues and we didn't give Ronaldo a chance coming off a 24 goal season, questions would have been asked. But because Martial was mostly hurt, Ronaldo got a ton of time to play and only score one non penalty goal (?). He can only blame himself for the poor display, he was getting the service too.

What would have been interesting is how much he would have played Ronaldo if Marital was healthy and available...

Hope we at least get a stop gap solution in Jan.

Will be fun to see us not hindered by old legs going forward. It'll be a long road and there were always going to be struggles but I've enjoyed watching us in the big games even if we haven't had a proper 9.

Ighalo was a pretty decent stopgap in that 2019-2020 season. May be we need to find that kind of cheap and effective stopgap.

Wide forward or cheap stopgap/loan deal is the only realistic prospect in January

I think TH has come out of this fine. He has shown he is the main man and its his way or the highway. By giving Ronaldo the captaincy he was showing there is a way back if you play ball with the manager as well. All gone tits up for Ronaldo, but all the other players will get the message. He reminds me of Fergie 90s, early 2000s

Ten Hag has been perfect in the way he has handled Ronaldo. We have complained about player power at this club for a number of years.

When you are employed by a club, regardless of stature, the manager is the one you have to listen to.

EtH set out his rules from day 1. It applies to every player, if you are 18 or 38, there will be no one set of rule for one and one for another.

Ronaldo and others got warned, EtH actually came out and said it wasn't just Ronaldo who left, so he cant criticise EtH there.

EtH has given Ronaldo plenty of chances to show why he should start, 0 PL goals when he has started shows why the manager prefers a different player up front.

This manager will not play you because of your name, you have to bring it to the pitch, Ronaldo hasn't, he also said he isnt motivated to = down tools.

So he can feck off.

The only mistake ten hag made was probably making the ego stroking excuse that he didn't sub ronaldo on for the man City game because he didn't want to disrespect him when really he didn't want to use him because he would have been counter productive on the pitch in that second half

He respected Ronaldo by not speaking the truth. EtH was afraid we would concede even more goals.
