They were probably worried that Liverpool would ge the pick of the buyers.

Does seem a bit weird that Liverpool and United are openly on the market at the same time though.

I'm skeptical there will be a full sale. Especially with the current economic climate and what it's projected to be next year. Let's see what happens.
There is no recession for the mega rich!

I’d rather a mad passionate fan with billions of pounds he’s willing to lose. That’s a pipe dream though. The most likely outcome is a wealthy yank. Most likely because the dollar is so strong right now. And yank billionaires have a habit of investing in sports franchises. So we’ll be swapping one yank for another. Meh.

Does Ratcliffe have enough to make us competitive/undertake all the changes that need doing at the club?

OK, I'll confess that I do not really read up on the billionaires in the world much. What makes fans so hot about Jim Ratcliffe? Has he done good things with Nice, is he less of a scumbag than other billionaires?

He's a United fan, but apparently his ownership of Nice is a bit shit

Yeah they released some sort statement around the time Liverpool were looking for investors, it didn’t mention us directly but they said they would not be investing in the Premier League for business reasons.

He’s apparently a United fan - I don’t really know much about him but I think the general feeling was he was the main candidate so get him in.

Anyone competent will do.

Id rather a company worth 2 trillion ( i.e Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook) than someone’s worth about 8-10 spending 25 percent of their worth on the club. Just seems way less stressful to a bigger company, all they have to do is hire the right people to run it.

Yeah, that's not a lot to go on. Kenyon was a "United fan" (since '68 - wonder who he supported prior).

If he's been a bit shit with his Nice venture, wherein lies the competence? I'm not saying he's not the least shite option, just wondering.

His Ineos cycling team and Mercedes F1 Team where he's heavily involved are very successful

So, what rich oil country still don't own a club?
Maybe UAE bosses decide to play live Fm and buy 7 PL clubs :wenger:

Like I said I know nothing about him. The anyone competent will do was just my own personal commentary.
