He won't go to Newcastle. Will take them years before they are title contenders even with unlimited funds. He hasn't got that long to wait. If he moves it will be to a team that has a legit chance of winning the league in the next few years. He will want trophies to cap off his career. Like Van Persie.

He won't want to leave the league whilst he still has a chance of beating Sharers record so that leaves English teams.

City have Haaland so they are out.
Doubt he would betray Spurs fans by going to arsenal so they are out.
Liverpool can't afford him so they are out.
Newcastle are too early in the Saudis project so they are out.
Chelsea might be in for him but they look a shambles at the minute and not sure how much cash they will have left to shell out after this season. Even if he fancies going there.

That leaves United. A team on the climb, looking to add what they are missing to start winning trophies again. Could be a match made in heaven. And if it works it would establish him as an all time PL great. The guy to take United back to the top

Arsenal and Liverpool also have Jesus, Nketiah and Nunez...we are the ones who need him the most.

People have been saying that about Ibrahimović for years and he's still going strong at 41, Ok Kane won't last that long but if scores the goals that win the trophies who the feck cares what he costs, and he will score goals
Zlatan is the exception that proves the rule. You don't make decisions based on such an outlier

Actually not quite, Teddy Sheringham was older than Kane would be when he joined us and he didn't do too bad, and he played professionally anoth 7 years after he left though not quite the same level

And funny thing is first season people said sheringham was a flop. Second he won it all, despite only something like four goals. But a goal in the fa cup final, champions league final and setting up the winner.
Then the season after was amazing.

Kane is a fantastic player, smart and needs a platform to perform better. Honestly think he would thrive at old Trafford

Doesn't work that way anymore. They've already accelerated through the equivalent of City's first 3 or 4 petro-years in half a season. If they spend £250m wisely in the summer they'll be right up there.

That was 25 years ago. If you have to back 25 years then its once again an exception that proves a rule. More often than not spending big money on a 30 year old that has a history of leg and ankle injuries turns out bad.

If Kane was available this summer what's the maximum you think we should be willing to pay for him?

Spurs will sell him to Bayern this summer.
depends if he wants to beat Shearer’s record or not

Chelsea would be a threat if he did leave Spurs. He can stay in London. Hopefully he would see them as a mess

I'd put money right now that weghorst scores more goals for the rest of the season even in a bit part role than kane.

The most over rated player I've ever seen, he is shite, I really don't understand why everyone bums him, the amount of goals scored means feck all to me Alan shearer scored a lot of goals but still win feck all after his move from Blackburn, score as many goals as you want but football is a team game (I'm looking at you, you ugly feck haaland) if your not winning games you aren't winning trophy's.

Neither if we're looking at it that way, RvN would be the man I'd want

A 1 season wonder.
Yeah the big man retired. Otherwise we would have got 3 years out of RVP.

We aren’t going to get 10 years success out of everyone we sign. Dwight Yorke gave us 1 really good season. Sheringham probably the same.

You guys acting like we need 10 good years to pick up trophies.

Teddy Sheringham would tell you personally he’s not better than Harry Kane. You are smoking.

Alan Shearer lived his dream, he played for his home town team, his heroes growing up, he gave up a lot of money and a better chance of winning medals to do that, he should be admired for that alone, if he'd gone with what most would have done he'd have played for United and we'd probably have won the PL about 10 years on the trot

Football?
Some football fans are genuinely deranged  No one with eyes and a functioning brain could think Sheringham > Kane

FYI Sheringham didn't win a tin pot until he was 30 and became 4th choice striker at United, Kane might just do the same (but as 1st choice :smirk: )

I'll have 50 with you now that kane outscores Weghorst between now and the end of the season. Feel free to PM if serious.

Kane is a big fish in a smallish pond. Coming to us he would expect to be Captain. Have some sort of special treatment. At Spurs he is constantly dropping deeper and deeper, then there's no one in the box to get on the end of crosses. I think Ten Hag wants a penalty box striker, who can close defenders down for 90 mins. I think the Kane of today is not that player. Maybe 6 years ago, but not now. Ten Hag doesn't need aging superstar divas anymore.

He very likely has 3 years at the very top after this season.

If Spurs sell for 75 Million this then equates to 25 Million a year alone in transfer fees over 3 years. There's zero chance he would command any transfer fee if sold. He would command a salary of around 300k a week which equates to 15 Million a year. Then there is tax, pension and NIC on his salary. He's no Ronaldo who would sell many shirts. So the only returns the club would expect is if we win the Premiership or Champions League. We're talking about an investment of nearly 850k a week over 3 years.

Move on from Kane. It's simple for the pundits to move their tongues who don't have to run a club.

I think Newcastle will be in for him. Whether he'd want to move there is another thing. Hopefully it doesn't start a bidding war much like Rooney if ETH wants him.

He's moving deeper either due to the Conte effect or Spurs not having a decent midfield.

Does the same for England, ends up in midfield. You wouldn't see the likes of Lewandowski or Benzema doing that. Stick to what you are good at.
