Nearly gave them a goal on a plate with a silly error and his passing was ridiculously slow which put everybody who received it under pressure.

I don't think he was helped by Fred and Sabitzer though. Weren't really showing for the ball. But Harry is always slow with his decisions too.

Lot of people are saying this but when Martinez came on, he was finding a good forward ball regularly. Maguire's passing is way too slow. That was a much bigger problem than the movement of the midfield 2.

Absolutely horrific. Unbelievable to think we still have people here claiming he’s good enough for us.

He's so slow that it's genuinely hard to understand how a professional athlete can be that slow. You wouldn't think that it was possible for someone who literally runs for a living to be unable to do it faster than that. It's like watching some 45 year old accountant jogging around the park for exercise.

That's why I was making the point that Harry's decision making and passing is always too slow. It's not just the other personnel of course, it's a theme with him.

But I really do think Sabitzer and Fred were particularly poor in helping us establish control, especially in the first half and start of the second. Leeds intensity had to drop off and that helped, along with having Martinez.

I think both Maguire and lindelof deserve credit for their responses at essentially being told they aren’t good enough to start anymore. No dressing room leaks, no indication that they are throwing the toys out the pram, both of them look engaged in the bench and happy to celebrate when we score/win and they don’t contribute… and when they do come on, they are putting in decent performances. They simply have one of the best defensive partnerships in world football to try and break up, which won’t happen, but I admire both their attitudes all things considered.
Not sure how else they could’ve reacted, Captain Maguire was initially dropped after some appalling performances as was Lindelöf who incidentally wasn’t much better. This was off the back of some of the worst results we’d had for years, including a truly embarrassing 5-0 thumping against Liverpool at home, 4-1at Brentford, a dire game against Leicester then getting dumped out the of UCL by Atletico.
I just don’t get the sentimentality that surround these two with some fans.

Very Harry Maguire performance, sometimes maybe good, sometimes often turd. But nah, was alright made some errors but it’s clearer than ever that he is no where near the level of Varane or Martinez. The way they go forward and the passes they choose, just miles ahead of him. It makes such a difference to the team.

Actually it was more to do with planting weghorst at number 10 and using him as a target, that and pulling sabitzer and Fred back into 2 number 6 position and using the left back as a wide out ball rather than asking him to drop into the number 6 position. It was riskier because it meant we were scrapping for more second balls in the middle of the park than out wide but it worked.

The initial plan was to draw the Leeds press the hit diagonals to our wide forwards with support from the no 8's Fred and Bruno who were both tasked with getting close and supporting the wide forwards when we hit those balls.

Maguire's distribution wasn't very good today he didn't hit his straps with the long diagonals but he wasn't alone with that either and Leeds were dealing with it comfortably even when they did find there target.

Defensively though he had a pretty good game. Leeds put lots of balls in our box today he was normally there or thereabouts to deal with it.

I shit myself every time he’s on the ball.

I watch him then I watch Varane and it’s ike chalk and cheese. I think there’s every chance he’ll be gone in the summer.

He's just a liability every time he plays for a side looking to be in the front foot with his lack of pace and slowness on the ball.

Will do well in a side that will sit deeper where he has to do more out and out defending, but his time here needs to be over in the summer.

He gave away the ball frequently which resulted in them getting good chances. His errors could've easily cost us at least 2 goals. How anyone thinks he had a good game is beyond me. His constant dwelling on the ball is infuriating. Hopefully i don't have to watch him play for us many more games and is sold in the summer.

He did as well as he can for us in a professional manner filling in. As a person he's a good guy and doesn't deserve the stick while he most likely moves on in the summer. He has incredibly thick skin to come through all criticism and jeering, it's many more times than our other players have faced. He's very strong mentally.

I used to like Maguire, now I watch Martinez and wonder why
Martinez has made me question why the club put up with Lindelof and Maguire. Can’t believe the difference an aggressive centre back makes to the team. We had two scared pups in the defence before he came along

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As juvenile as it may seem, I just can't stand the man. His decision making is jarring for someone who was entrusted with the captaincy.

His presence annoys me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve defended him at times but that was abysmal. Some of those passes

He takes way too long to pick a pass so that by the time he does it the receiver is under pressure or the angle has gone. It’s ridiculous how much he dithers.
That’s my biggest gripe. Forget the errors - as hard as that is, but it’s his dithering. The team would play a lot faster with more intensity if he just fecking passed it 3-4 seconds earlier. The extra touches are unnecessary!

The fact he needs so many touches is a killer. Invites so much pressure. When Martinez had it, Leeds did not press.

We are just terrible at playing out with him on the field we were getting dusted at the beginning of the second half and the stats popped up saying we had well more possession, that was just him and Shaw passing to each other continuesly then losing it.

I thought he was good today but I also don’t think we were going to win that match until Martinez came on and took over the distribution. There’s also nearly always a big mistake in Harry in tight games.
Raise your standards mate. He was nowhere near good.

As others have said, the time he spends on the ball absolutely kills me every time. Recovered well from his mistake but you don’t have the same assured feeling with him as you do with Martinez and Varane if we’re being honest. As soon as he gets the ball he takes 3-4 touches and does a side turn, only to pass it to the player everyone knew he would and that he could have done with one touch straight away. It’s not like he’s drawing out any oppo players, either. I don’t get why he’s not getting pulled up on it or maybe it’s a habit he can’t break.

Can’t say that I know exactly what the role is of a captain, in between and before and after the match, but must be so weird for everyone that Maguire still has that role.

In the right team he'll look decent.

They'll be plenty of teams after him in the summer I reckon.
Fingers crossed. I think he's hopeless for us but do feel bad for him. He seems a decent enough bloke that's just lost all confidence. He's so poor at the mo though.

Will suit all parties when he leave sin the summer. There is a decent cb in there but he's lost all confidence at United and can not get it back. Feel a bit sorry for him.
