Hello all, lifelong red and first post here, hopefully its non controversial.

Lots of talk about Utd selling its soul, I disagree, arguably that happened when the club was bought out in 2005 in a leveraged deal which unfortunately went from being debt free to having huge debt loaded onto the club, simply, Utd cannot continue on under the current ownership model, and despite now having a great manager in Ten Hag, you suspect he will probably be undermined by those above him at some point.

So, as I see it, the prospective new owners from Qatar should be welcomed, certainly in the sense that they will be completely different regarding their priorities for the club than the current owners, morals and politics is for another thread, and an altogether different conversation, no one is perfect, but from the standpoint of what can they bring to the table it is simply huge, clearing all the debt, not taking dividends, investing in the local community, investing in the stadium, training facilities, and of course on the pitch, Utd have been a sleeping giant for far too long and this new ownership model would elevate the club to an altogether new level, as a fan, that is surely the ideal scenario, the soul of the club is irrevocable, its still Manchester United with all its history intact, its still a global and iconic club and its bigger than any owners, past, present, and future, I for one will support the club, the team, and if owners come in with its very best interests at heart and apparently the Emir is a Utd fan himself, then that should be welcomed.

Delaney is the worst source going. Can’t remember anything he’s got right never mind broken. Quite an achievement.

It's obvious that Joel and Avram aren't ready to give up their cash cow and feel there's more to be milked with Ten Hag getting us back on track. Luckily for us I don't think they can afford to buy out the rest of their family.

Said before that I fully expect the glazers to be kept on as “consultants” to the tune of £100m over the next couple of seasons once the sale is done.
It would have to be the worst decision in the history of the new owners to even contemplate keeping the Glazers as consultants. They would offer absolutely nothing positive to the running of the football club.

How anyone can look at how he’s handled Twitter and want Musk anywhere near us I’ve no idea, I don’t understand any Utd fan being alright with that sort of shit show.
I clocked him as a bit of a lunatic when his reaction to his idea on how to rescue those Thai kids in the caves being turned down was to accuse one of the cave divers of being a paedophile. That was unhinged af.

There are rumors floating around twitter that it's a done deal, Joel/Avram are buying out their siblings with the help of the Apollo group because the revitalization of the super league has them thinking it will be worth 20 bil in a few years.

Bidders of course would be Luke warm. You don't show your hand so early on

"I love it, charge me what you like" says no one serious ever

I honestly think that clown Ratcliffe's nonsense has really skewered perception of how these processes actually work and how those involved actually behave.

Any interested party will be playing down their interest in hope of negotiating the best price. The sure sign Ratcliffe has NEVER been involved in this process was that he has been running around telling everyone he is.

It's negotiation.

Glazer split doesn't achieve investment they need. Doesn't make sense. Just buy others out if that's plan.

No chance the venom it would produce they would end up having to sell for less.

You should not be posting stuff like this without a source based on what's floating on Twitter...

It's a relatively small twitter account, but he was right about a lot of our transfer activity in the summer. I'm not saying it's true, I just threw it out, in case it's true, so that fellows reds might not be smacked in the face with this news out of nowhere. Could be bullshit, but it might reign some expectations from people in that are 100% convinced Qatar is done and financial floodgates are about to open.

And to think this could all have been avoided if Malcolm had finished over Linda's face back in 1960.
