It is, but so are other clubs stories as well, as there are trip packages that include stadium tours in cities like Milan, Barcelona, and Madrid for example, marketing football clubs.

Real Madrid is the biggest club in Europe, and i doubt tourists who goes to Madrid do it because of Real.

I'd argue that clubs use city's fame to market their brand, not the other way around.
Liverpool being the exception.

Sp no US interest? I'd love to know what's going on.
I'd be amazed if Crystal Palace's Harris and Blitzer aren't involved in a consortium that bids for the club. They were a part of Broughton's consortium that bid for Chelsea and Harris is a co-founder/ director of Apollo Global Management who were linked with buying a stake in the club or potential other financing.

There are no private individuals with this kind of wealth that aren't associated to the royal family there.
Yep. Like Newcastle and Saudi, they might say it is private indivudlas but we all know who it really is.

I'd hate us to be state owned. Everything that's wrong with modern football.

For the Qatar bid to have won, not only would they have had to have bid by now but they would have had to meet the valuation for Glazers to accept without anybody else being able to beat them

All reports suggest Qatar will offer short of the valuation. So would make no sense for them to have won before even the soft deadline
Tbf it's a classic negotiating tactics, ask for 6bn but you'd really be happy with 4.5 always go higher in your initial request. It might be they've offered 4.5bn take it or leave it and the Glazers feel that number won't be beat, though it could also be bullshit

of course they come in too. Either way, it looks like we're 100 percent on track to being state-owned ... bleak, and that's an understatement. Joining that group of clubs is my worst nightmare.

Valid point.

But only a small minority of fans would simultaneously want Greenwood banned but Qatar ownership.
Seems like many want the Qatari ownership though. So why is that OK, but Mason Greenwood not? Isnt it immensely more wrong what the Emir of Qatar allows against women?

Think we'll go for just under £7bn. Ratcliffe will call to make sure the deadline has passed then phone journalists to announce he's bid £3.45p

Due to speculation or do they expect the deal to be provisionally agreed very soon?
It's because the Bloomberg story went up quoting a GBP 5 Billion figure as Qatar's upcoming bid. Bloomberg has a lot more credibility than all the football journalists in the world put together. Although the story also says "deliberations are ongoing and no final decisions on the size or timing of any proposal have been taken", but that's fairly standard language in these types of stories.

Basically we've got a massive auction.
