"Dear Glazers,

I really really have loads of money. My offer is as follows.

Anything the Qatari's offer minus 1 billion.

Please don't feel an need to rush with your response. No like really take as much time as you need. It's totally fine.

Kind Regards"

Can we just make it a rule for people to use currencies when talking about the numbers? Or maybe use if you're not talking about £££s

I'm sure the Glazers will ignore the higher bid from the Qataris once they know that Sir Ratcliffe is the long term custodian for the club.

I think it's naive in the extreme to believe nearly anything the Qataris say. They might preach to be Utd fans and they'll give you this spiel about investing in the club but it's really just PR to try and win over fans. These people talk about investing in the women's team despite the fact their record of treating women is absolutely horrendous. Why would anyone believe a word they say?

Qatar are a disgraceful state for human rights. Look at the slave Labour for the World Cup.

Very different not wanting that to only allowing a local fecking butcher from Salford.

Can't believe we've already got some fans lining up to sell their souls. Even if they do take us over, we can criticise them. Unlike City, our club will be bigger than the owners.
Said this in another thread, but - while I would also prefer not to have what is effectively nation state ownership, we have to think rationally about this. Can we ever know the full extent of the dealings of any purchaser/investor? Do we know what are the ethical standpoints of all of our current sponsors? Do we agree with those? So should we boycott or protest the club?

QIB, the apparent investor, is a bank owned by QIA. According to Wikipedia, QIA also hold significant investments in Heathrow airport, Volkswagen and Barclays. If the deal goes thorough the implication is that we should avoid/boycott these institutions too?

Unbelievable.
They'll make a fortune having overseen mostly failure

That's the problem, the league, the media, government, everyone let themselves down by allowing the leeches to leverage their way into the club. The true villains of the piece
