As Bruce Springsteen, The Boss, is to music, so Casemiro, The Boss, is to football.

Can there be any doubt that Casemiro, right now, is the top defensive midfielder on the planet?
He's miles better than Bruce Springsteen anyway.

I have no idea what RM were thinking letting this guy go. He's a beast.
It feels like when Real sold Makelele to Chelsea. He wasn't a flashy player but they missed him massively and it benefitted Chelsea hugely

Mentality monster. He is not here to dab or win social media appreciation. He is here to win championships. Him, licha, Varane in them we have got three players who are not here to mess around. They are here to win.

Quote me on this, he’ll still be playing here when he’s 37.

Quality player who will adapt his game and drop deeper as his legs start to go. If his stays injury free he’ll be a mainstay for years. His transfer fee will look like a steal before his contract is up.

They tried to resist but he wanted a new challenge so they honored his wishes and gave him a very classy send-off ceremony/farewell.

Kroos also admitted that his teammates tried to convince him to stay too once the rumors started to spread on social media

Not just an incredible player, but a ridiculously likeable guy as well. Elite mentality. The clips going round of him on social media avoiding the bust up after Bruno smashed the ball at De Jong are hilarious too. He was having none of it after the palace game

Why did the guardian article get deleted? Anyway, this part of the article was nice:
At United, the quality and incision of his passing has been pronounced; his ability to drive moves – often quick transitions after he has won possession. Opta has a statistic called shot-ending sequences started; in other words, ball recoveries that lead to chances, and Casemiro is second in the league on this. As an aside and an insight into Ten Hag’s style, United have two others in the top five – Fred (first), Fernandes (fifth). When Casemiro’s four goals and five assists in all competitions are considered, his claim to being the complete midfielder is strong.

Good article about him in the Grauniad.
This was really good! Thank you!

Casemiro wants more and it is another line from his unveiling interview that has come to linger. “I have a lot of ambition to win,” he said. “If next year we don’t win the Premier League or the Champions League, I will be sad and angry.”

Speaking of age, he's the same age as Lingard.

My mind was blown when I found this out.

Desperate for him and Varane to win trophies here! Want them to sing the praises of the United part of their career when all set and done.

If we got 2 more good seasons out of him, I'd consider it a good signing. It depends what we win in that time I guess.

After that he'll be 33/34 so might only have a year left.

Lots of midfielders perform at a high level til 35 so hopefully we get that.
He's had very few injuries in his career so far so touch wood it continues.
