I'm not sure why that's even a talking point. Why, Dev, why?

It seems that pro SJR fans know SJR more then he knows himself. Thus they keep correcting what he said to fit their own agenda.

But do you have a season ticket with them though?
No, but I would absolutely would if I could attend more games. I just don't really have the time for it so it would be a waste of money.

"I have a house in Chelsea, I've lived in Chelsea for many years, I've had a season ticket for many years, I have a business that's based in Chelsea.

"When I was living in London for many years, Chelsea I could go and watch. It was quite difficult to go and watch United so I have split loyalties."

That doesn't seem the words of someone who is not a fan!
He could have soft spot for Chelsea based on this current location, which is normal. However he might be a fan of both teams, my point is it doesn't necessarily make you a fan to attend the matches of a team you live or work by.

I mean, it’s feasible he stuck himself on the waiting list for years (which is a long one at Chelsea due to stadium size), and that he finally got his ST and roughed it in the shed end.
It’s feasible he flies Ryanair back from Nice to London also, he probably did easyJet for the Old Trafford meeting.

What’s much more likely is that a billionaire took a private jet, or 1st class and that he bought an exec ST at Chelsea to catch some top football whilst he lived around the corner.

But sure, let’s go with him being in the midst of Chelsea fans, there’s not a pic anywhere and it’s be dangerous as feck for a billionaire, but sure.
After the long post, it looks to me you do not know for sure.

Alright then.

Come on be serious now. There is very little chance he has a regular season ticket. He's a billionaire and his company is based in the same location. It would be shocking if he didn't have box seats.

SJR himself admitted he had split loyalty. If that does not make him a fan, I have nothing to say.

Could have, should have, would have.

Of course.

I'm not comfortable with these Qatar owners. They are too closely linked to the state

I’m just unsure why you keep going on about it really. It’s irrelevant

the context used in that particular post was that I very much doubt that someone who has split loyalties with Chelsea to the extent that he who have invested time to go and watch them play would use them as bait just to lure the Glazers to sell. His bid for Chelsea was genuine.

He literally said that he has split loyalties. Do you think that you know SJR more then SJR himself?

Do you know how much one decent Knicks season tickets cost let alone a pair? If I'm not going to +80% of the 41 games or committed to always finding a buyer it's a complete waste of money. What a weird response.

The bolded part refers to to you saying SJR could have a soft spot for Chelsea when the person himself admitted he had split loyalties between United and Chelsea.

I have no interest behind your decision not to have a season ticket with a NY pro sports team.

The fact of the matter is, SJR has a season ticket there and he is a Chelsea fan.

I literally just said he could be a fan, but it doesn't necessarily mean you are a fan. I was responding specifically to having season tickets or box seats.

Split loyalties means he is a supporter of both clubs. The man literally bidded 4B for them and went on begging Raine to consider his bid. INEOS statement for Chelsea is more attractive then ours. He is a Chelsea supporter just as he is ours.

It appears to me that both @MackRobinson and @Regulus Arcturus Black are part of SJR’s inner circle, sometimes they know more about SJR than the person himself.
I really don't care either I just had two points of a tangential

a) attending matches of a team or having season tickets doesn't automatically make you a fan of that said team
b) there is very little chance that a billionaire with a company based in a city of a professional sports team doesn't have box seasons

If these two things are controversial or shocking that must be some rock you are living under.

Does having split loyalties between 2 teams make you a fan for both teams?

Let's try this again. This is the post I responded to:

It’s been well reported on this forum that Ratcliffe only has a season ticket for exec meetings for clients. It has been confirmed by redcafe members. It is well known there are no decent facilities in London other than Stamford bridge to hold exec meetings.
There is no mention of split loyalties.

Actually pal, living in Sweden for 15 years now and with a Swedish wife & half Swedish kids, I have split loyalties during for example a World Cup.
Until they play England, then I want them twatted.

So as with everything in life, it’s never as black & white as you’re attempting to make out. You can absolutely have “split loyalties” whilst only being an actual fan of one team.

Again, that is your theory. You do know know for sure, just as you naively believed he is worth more then 20b pounds.
Nice ad hominem, but I simply mistook dollars instead of pounds, but you already knew that since I clarified that. I'm touched by the grade-school comeback from something discussed two days ago.

Does having split loyalties between 2 teams make you a fan for both teams?
I really don't know and don't care b/c that's not what I was responding to and had nothing to do with my original point.

You thinking he has regular season tickets is still laughable.

Insulting another member

No need to act the moron here. The Premier League is the most popular league in the World and the most popular sport, entertaining clients is massive business for Premier League teams. City, Spurs & Arsenal have invested absolute shit loads in their hospitality offerings due to this. City’s hospitality is so far advanced of United I know a fair few companies that switched from United hospitality to City for entertaining despite being owned by United fans.

And yes, during Arsenal’s wank years, Chelsea have been the number one place for entertaining clients in London.

Rarely does anyone conduct a fecking meeting during a PL match so it appears you lack a complete understanding of hospitality within football.

I think what a lot of you are missing is that in addition to the state backed/owned thing, the human rights abuses, the links to terrorism, anything we win from this point in the event of the Qataris winning the bid is hollow. The other stuff may go away for a while due to PR and lack of interest from the press, but the cheat code activation taints anything the club does moving forward until they’re gone, just like with City. You may get an Mbappe, but who the feck cares. The more the Qataris cater to your footballing wet dreams the less any wins matter.

The Glazers completely fecked us when they took over, cheating in response will not be the redemption some of you hope it will be. It’s going to feel cheap and empty.
To you maybe, but I would suspect that it won't to millions of others.

idgaf about being owned by a state and all the issues around it but whatabout SJR having season tickets at Stamford Bridge, thats too far for me!

‘If you can’t beat’em, join ‘em!’ isn’t a good enough argument to justify state ownership. We are Manchester United and we should be better than that. We always have been in the past.
No we haven't, since the listing at least, if not longer.

Well, if you're going to claim to do something, do it. Before the INEOS takeover, Nice were more competitive towards winning the league than they have been post the takeover. Surely, they should have progressed in their pursuit of PSG, and not regressed? :)

A quick simple search on Google will show you why Greenwashing is important to INEOS. Not open and honest as they claim to be.

Yes, so, if the bid is from businessmen, that also applies to SJR. Don't make it sound as though it's only Jassim that line is exclusive, too.

Read all your post clearly this time, did I? Haha.
Honestly, trying to point score is hilarious.

I have never said anything to the contrary about INEOs wanting to make money from United, I just think it's important to note that Qatar will also do the same.

Nice are one of the form teams in France right now, they are on the right path, but of course let's not let facts get in the way of things, because of course you are trying to point score and prove a point that doesn't exist.

Carry on.

You thinking he has regular season tickets is still laughable.

I really like the idea of the billionaire having to buy as many regular tickets as possible as a regular Chelsea member over a full season, waiting in endless long queue systems in order to earn up his Chelsea loyalty points, in the hope that a few STs will become available over the Summer and that he’ll be one of the lucky few that will be offered one due to having attended more games than other interested members.

Or… he could just call Chelsea and drop 5k /ticket to instantly get INEOS a few executive seasonal hospitality facilities in say the Champions Club or the UTB sport lounge.

I’m not convinced @enghuei knows how money works.

So’s your face! Yeah that’s roght
I’m 12 big whoop, wanna fight about it?!!

But seriously. I’ve been quite clear dude, Manchester United don’t need state funding. We are big enough to stand on our own. Transfers, infrastructure, the whole shebang. We can do it all, once we are freed from the shackles of Glazer ownership.
How is all that going to be paid for? More loans?

 Nice one googling the names of Chelsea corporate boxes.

I like the idea of you fantasizing the things that SJR did and his thought process.

So much effort of a man who’s not even supporting SJR’s bid, just yet.

But hey, you do you I guess.

Not if billions are being pumped in to pay for infrastructure that the club itself should be paying for.

I assumed that's what you meant mate but if someone is paying for a new Stadium etc instead of it being funded from the clubs own profits. Then that isn't the club being self-sufficient in any way, shape or form.
How on earth will the club be able to pay for a new stadium/Carrington upgrade from it's own resources? We'd never be able to pay back any loans.

The Glazers will sell to whoever pays them the most.
It does not matter who United fans favour.

As for me, I will continue to support United till the end.
I only hope we just don't buy all the big names and turn football into a joke here.

This suggestion of having fans selecting their favoured players before the board decides is ridiculous.
