5 more games and that should be that.

He’s been a great player for us. But his time is up. Shouldn’t be in the squad next season. Would require excessive wages to be a back up.

Yep. And Eric Steele can put any PR videos , DDG should be done if we all Man Utd guys are trying to turn the page this summer.
We still laugh at Taibi.

Yet, DDG the legend gets a free pass for worse mistakes over years and years.

It's gone beyond a joke, he simply has to go, I'd drop him for the rest of the games.

I don't think he is even good enough to be our number 2, every goalkeeper should be accustomed to playing the same style.

That Steele who came in for Brighton midweek, case in point!

De Gea contract up isn't it? Or is it an option? I say let it go. If we didn't have to worry about balancing books, then it's the only decision to make.

Only renew for less than a 100k to give the new keeper some competion. If he refuses we let go. We have shot ourselves in the foot a few times with these extensions.

I never thought I’d say it, but I’d consider bringing Henderson back as a stop-gap.

The man has an absolutely howler in him doesn't he, and it's always just around the corner.

Even in what is supposed to be a "good" season for him this year, off the top of my head I can think of howlers against Brentford, Everton, Sevilla and West Ham that would make you scratch your head as how he could even call himself a professional goalkeeper.

It would be absolutely criminal if we renew his contract. We need to build a new team, don't hang on to any players who have been letting us down for years.

I’ve defended him a lot and still remain loyal for his contributions in the past, but no doubt it’s time to move on.

Having said that, let’s not fall into a trap of finding just one scapegoat. We conceded one goal but couldn’t score a single one today, that’s not on Dave.

Yeah we should learn when to let go and this summer is time to let go.

We could have left with a point though.

Does he have value in the books after 12 years at the club?

His salary varies from 15-20m based on whether we make the CL. That should help us get someone even as a temporary solution till getting the keeper we really want. Selling Henderson should help a lot too.

I get what you're saying but we were creating chances before his feckup and then going a goal up Moyes does his usual of dropping deep and men behind the ball which made our task far harder when it didn't need to be

He’s the weak link imo, we just can’t play good football with a keeper who gives away more possession than the outfield players and on top of that average shot stopper and shit at claiming crosses. Ironically, he has the highest salary for being our weakness.

Deserves to be dropped like a wasted cum rag. Whatever he did good for us is all in the past; there is just no way to recover from this anymore.

Just let him leave in the summer. I will happily take 1-2 years of Keylor Navas on a free if the search for a goalkeeper is too complicated for now.

No doubt it changed the dynamics and cost us much more than just a goal conceded today.

You have just got to hope his contract hasn’t been signed already and we‘re just waiting for the right moment to announce it….

I totally get you but think the Glazers think signing him on saves us £40-£50m on a new keeper.

Going down under literally no contact is worse than the goal he conceded.

If we give him a new contract, the club is not serious.
We will give him a new contract and he will sign. Of course we are not serious, we havent challenged for the league in a decade for a reason.

It will end up costing ETH his job. I am honestly baffled at how much it seems like we want to keep him.

Especially when we have either younger or cheaper options out there. Just Keylor Navas alone would be an upgrade after his contract runs out. He only plays for Forest on loan from PSG because Donnaruma took the whole number 1 spot and Navas wants to play.

Why does he always make these errors at 0-0. Fecking frustrating but even worse was when he decided to fall over at the slightest touch. You’re the last line of defence you weapon.

He's not scared of screamers to the face, it's these cheeky shots with power of a kid in the park that are truly horiffying.

Get better, Dave and stop smoking donuts.

100 percent how I feel. Shaw tries some weird pass instead of just clearing that danger or whatever, 1v4 and nobody has balls to make a challenge. But yeah just time to move on. What should make that easier is we don't have to even worry about selling him, just let him go out of contract here

It's not just the error though is it? It was the kicking the ball out to West Ham players on the halfway line all the time as well. He simply can't get the ball out reliably and it pinned us back.

I'm grateful for what he has done for the club, but he's not what we need any more.

Next season a write off then
Erik has just signed his own death warrant. Hard to have faith in a manger that still backs a keeper that has been so bad, and is so ill suited to the football that that very manager wants to play.

Things must be bad at the club if we're keeping him. There's 50 keepers I'd rather see than this guy

We can sort of cope in midfield with some loans, system players cheap buys in the sabitzer mould but we can't cope without a antisystem striker and goalkeeper. Even the shots he saves should just proffessional keepers should save. Every game against us there are great saves of keepers, that DDG's "world class reflex ability" shouldn't be overstated. He's also not exactly a leader, can't claim crosses, can't sweep, or play quickly from the back with either foot or throw. He rather spends ages laying on the ground or when with the ball at his feet, often under hits easy passes. On top of that he earns like 2 or 3 keepers altogether which are better than him in smaller teams..

ETH has to adress this.
