And do you think owning 9% of the company is resulting in Raine sabotaging their clients interests?
Yeah it's a really really long stretch to assume that I think.

They've been involved in city dealings though, including the stake sale to clearlake

I told you guys ages ago INEOS is winning this bid they’ve been working on the deal
For 18 months , the club has been for sale longer than the public statement.

Not sure what the Sheik Jassim thing is all about.

They've been 'winning' for the last 4 months mate. They aren't even in the running their bid would have been accepted a long time ago.

This is about getting as much money as possible out of Qatar they've repeated this pattern about 4 times at this point

'Ineos are winning....Qatar up their offer'

It's so obvious after months of the same shit. I'm more certain this is nailed on for Qatar than I have been at any point.

They're the Arsenal of leading. Can't get it over the line.

Not sure that’s true, we spent a fortune last summer and nothing was soothed over.
Our fanbase was literally protesting them during a cup final just a few months ago
If the Glazers lose control and we strengthen to acceptable levels ad all that on top of a largely successful season from ETH and the team then the anger won't be as fierce as it would be right now. Remember last summer the club fecked about in the window and only got to spend after the two defeats.

What Jim essentially needs to do if he takes over is to make serious moves on the debt, have a strong transfer window and make a commitment towards upgrading the stadium. All that heavy investment will be hard for even the skeptics to ignore.

Football is easy, especially with an established club like United - front load on the spending, go far in the CL, top three finish and lower the spending for two or three seasons, rinse and repeat. The key is in getting in the right talent spotters, the Glazers failed on this aspect.

This latest article is clearly telling you two things.

1. They want to sell up completely
2. They want Qatar to match the INEOS valuation.

Nonsense. The media haven't signed any NDAs. If they knew anything they'd report it, simple as
It's quite common for journalists to be told things off the record that they can't report. It's also quite common for them to gossip like fishwives to fill a knowledge vaccuum

How far apart they are in their valuation? Thought the difference was $330M ?

It's not insurmountable. I don't get why they don't just use $500 million of the pledged money and focus on actually acquiring the club first.

I guess HBJ and or Jassim are very tough negotiators.

I also like that they are not just paying what the Glazers want because feck them, I want them to squirm

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Would make sense If that was the case. Ratcliffe jumping into bed with Joel and Avram isn't going to go down well
I reckon they’re waiting for the season to end so no game to protest around then they’ll spend heavy in the Summer & hope that the majority of the backlash blows over by the time next season kicks off.

Absolutely no knowledge but feels like whatever the decision is they’re waiting till our games are over & there’s less of an event for fans to protest around for a few months.
Thats how I would do it if I did a deal with the devil which will make half the fanbase furious from day 1. Once the initial anger calms we are stuck with him and his Glazer pals
I agree with these, unfortunately.

I just really think that they’re stalling on the announcement because they know the uproar it’ll cause.

Reckon it’ll be ‘gradually’ announced in the week after the FA Cup final loss.

The news reports that it’s the Brexit Rat will get more frequent and more established until it’s finally announced officially.

It does make sense to me the quietness, as the next possible announcement has to be via the stock market. This indicates it’s coming to its last stages.
Its painfully slow that's the only factor of truth that bothers me

Yeah right.

We see through it now don’t we. INEOS apparently have been leading for about 3 months and there’s still no deal.

They have zero interest in selling to Jim and want to squeeze every last pence out of Qatar they keep pulling the same shit
100% this.

Weird how in all this Ratcliffe hasn’t been expected or apparently asked to increase his offer.

There will absolutely not be significant backlash if INEOS buys us. This is a fantasy of overly online supporters. Local fans are not obsessively following the ins and outs of this and developing strong opinions on finer details, they just want the Glazers to no longer control their club and if they hear that INEOS are going to purchase a controlling stake in Man Utd they will be happy, as they would be happy if it was reported Qatar are going to take over the club.
Someone actually said that Qatar are buying us for sportswashing, and Ineos is buying us for green washing

It is true though

Mubadala Development have an ownership stake in Raine Group

Their managing director is Al Mubarak, the chairman of Man City
It's the 'Which probably explains why the Qatari bid is being messed about' bit that I find it hard to believe you subscribe to.

Do you believe that is true?

When the club actually gets sold can we make a new thread.

There is nothing worth reading in here until it does.

So when do you see that 5th bid from Jassim because that's what it will take I reckon

Yep I think so too

With Jassim speaking to the Glazers directly I was hoping it would be done before now but it seems like the Glazers are still fecking around

Could be a long summer

If Ratcliffe wins the bid, I really hope he proves me wrong, but I think we won't even notice the Glazers ever left. I expect more baffling recruitment decisions and a similar lack of ambition to achieve anything beyond CL qualification.

Obertans #1 fan.
I’d be amazed if Jim did manage to win this still. Wondering if the Glazers are worried about the response from the fanbase if we become owned by Qatar and genuinely would go for any alternative.
