It's no wonder why so many people are still very sceptical of Jassim. It's blantantly obvious he's just a front man and nothing more.

Very difficult to build trust when the whole thing is one giant pack of lies essentially.

They can't come out and say it though can they? They can't say 'Yes it's a state bid really'.
Why not? We'd be like the 10th club to be state-owned at this point. It's not like there are rules against it.

The article is somewhat interesting in the way it is structured, it tells more about the dynamic between each parties than anything else. From what I understand:

- Sheikh Jassim isn't directly involved in the talks with the Glazers or Raine, he lets his negotiation team handle these.
- Sheikh Jassim asked Al Khelaifi's opinion on the Glazer's evaluation of the club which is 8b$.(We don't know what Al Khelaifi opinion was)
- Al Khelaifi was then contacted by the Glazers in an attempt to convince him to talk to Sheikh Jassim.
- Al Khelaifi met the Glazers in Florida this week.

Who is Al Khelaifi working for, the Glazers or Sheikh Jassim? If we believe Ornstein, the Glazer learned that Al Khelaifi had Sheikh Jassim ears and they are trying to use it to get more money, seemingly without success.

I don’t really care who owns us as long as they invest properly in the club. Were people here big Martin “Peeper” Edwards fanboys for example?
I still care who owns the club but I also want this entire shitshow to be over and done with. By the time this is finalised we'll be well into the next season, and we're going to have a long summer of uncertainty.

The only way this entire process could get more annoying would be if a third bidder suddenly pops out of nowhere and delays the process further, which I fully expect to happen.

Either way it’s leaning towards the Glazers want Qatar to takeover and are testing the waters for more money.
The Glazers couldn't care less if its Qatar, Ineos, or Father Christmas that buys the club - they want the largest amount of money possible - currently, that's being offered by Ineos.

Newcastle and City haven't.

City fans to this day still tell me their owner did this privately and had nothing to do with the Emirate.

Newcastle as we know have put some fake consortium in charge but again we all know where the cash ultimately comes from.

So no they haven't categorically come out and admitted it even though we know it is. That's the whole point.

based on your post, it sounds like he is almost a "mediator" type. probably has the ear of SJ, but wasn't retained by the Glazers like Raine.

They made an improved offer?

So some of you want to call Ornstein a clickbait merchant now :lol:
Nah, you only believe him because it's what you want to hear. Some of the twisting and turning of logic defies gravity on here.

Obviously /s

That's what Ornstein is alluding to and it's interesting to read that the Glazers are the one who initiated it.

It’s just about the football mate and what’s best for United and Jim certainly isn’t that
It's just about the football as much as you are just a football fan and nothing else. You have no family, no loved ones, no principles, no beliefs. Just about the football.

Who really knows at this point?
I'm talking about the article. The article states that the Glazers asked for 8bn$ which is why Sheikh Jassim asked for Al Khelaifi's opinion.

They’re all state backed City, Newcastle and possibly us let’s not pretend we’re doing something the other clubs aren’t

Newcastles owners openly murdered a journalist within the last 2 years but because it’s Newcastle and not United or Liverpool there wasn’t much of a stink
And that somehow makes it ok? Are you "hearing" what you are saying?

Get your head out of the sand and stop being salty. It's over.
I was beginning to lose hope but then the Apr 28 Times report dropped and gave me hope. Ever since then I've been basing my opinion on reliable information and my confidence has only grown with more positive news coming out since then.

You, on the other hand had sky-high cockiness before the Times article in late April, and that has been reduced to you clinging onto tweets made by bored kids with 500 followers claiming to be "ITK".

Any time news came from the English media that boosted the chances of Ineos winning this takeover, you dismissed it as "PR" and claimed that the English media is clueless due to Qatar not feeding them information...except for today when you tried to spin the Ornstein article into how Qatar are winning.

I will admittedly be salty if Qatar somehow win this, but today's article doesn't really boost the chances of that, you just want it to. Whatever makes you sleep at night.

It's obvious that this whole thing is just about bragging rights for you and many others.

Hope you never get to truly understand why so many are opposed to Qatari ownership.
The problem is , why are you expecting others to understand that ? You have an opinion - fair enough but keep it with you.

You have 100 reasons to oppose someone and I have another 100 to support one .

It is only about who offers the Glazers most money. That can change at any moment but it's likely to be Qatar because they have the most money.

Plot twist - SJR has structured a deal that rinses the other share holders to the benefit of the Glazers. But it's maybe going to get them sued as well. And there's nothing stopping the Qataris doing the same thing if that's the only sticking point.

I get what you're saying mate and fair play to stinking to your principles

But you can find fault in absolutely anything from the oil you use in your car to the cloths that are made in indian sweatshops and you're phones that are made in China

I just want to enjoy football I'm not going that deep.

That guy only shows up once a year, imagine getting deals done during the summer - no thanks.

Because this bid from Jim has been on the table for months and it's not advancing. The talk from the papers has been that Qatar can't even get Raine group to speak with them and they're being essentially ignored

We know that isn't true now and the Glazers going to Qatar asking for more money means they want a full sale. If Jim's bid was going to win it would be done or at least approaching the latter stages by now.
You do know the article states all of this was one month ago right? Since then it's the same sources that stated Khalifi refused to up the bid and they've gone into final negotiations with Ratcliff.

It was this click bait which triggered it, it's behind a paywall so doubt many people actually read it.

This was one month ago. They just got the news now that this happened.

BBC reporting it and no paywall.
