Oh, well if Rio says so, it must be true

Watch the share price surge off the back of a Rio tweet

That´s rude. In Austria Sky Premier League Subscription with 5+ games every matchday costs 8€.
Not sure how it is in Austria, but English football has been embedded in Norwegian culture since the 60's and the broadcasters/rightsowners knows that and milks it as much as possible.

Generally agree with this. You shouldn't have to go to matches to have an opinion on the takeover. Although I do think local, match-going fans have more skin in the game. If the identity of the club fundamentally changes that will hit them harder than foreign, non match-going fans like me.
True and I can't help but to feel sorry for those who will be affected. But that is life isn't it, football clubs are essentially businesses these days. Not as rigid as public corporations but still, the highest bidder will win and we can't change it.

Good find mate. Hopefully Rio is right. I’d imagine his good source is someone within the club.

I'm sure he does. Did he not break/tease the Ronaldo returning to Utd news 1st when it was all over the press that he was joining City.

Anyone watched it? Is he referencing the news from the other day or something else?
Watched it. It looks like a video from today. He didn’t reference the tweet from other day because that tweet was actually “confirming” Jassim had won.

He says he hopes the rumours are true and that a good source he has has said it’s true.

Yeah and constantly saying "500 more subs and I will phone Ronaldo when we reach it" in his YT livestream only to never call Ronaldo.

he specifically says he has a good source on it
There was news at the beginning that Qatar had approached legends who were waiting until the deal was agreed before hoping on board the endorsement train.
Rio was rumoured to be one of them. Beckham another

I’m sure Rio’s source are more stronger/reliable than most of the media tbh. No doubt he still has a lot of links within the club. My guess would be it’s Darren Fletcher (Technical Director). Anyway, whoever it is I’m sure it’s not @BigShotMike from Twitter.

Rio won't know shit.
Disagree. He’s got some very good sources at the club and would know more than most.

He’s risking a lot leaking this news. I think it’s a matter of time now.

It's only very recently that TV money has actually overtaken matchday revenues and that's after a decade of season ticket price freezes. United match day revenues and the fact they dwarfed our rivals for much of the 90s and 00s played a huge role in our ability to get to the top and maintain that position.

Other clubs have since been spending hundreds of millions on new and upgraded stadiums to catch up on that regard.

Only because Sky and the worldwide equivalents have increased prices year on year have TV revenues actually over taken the matchday income and again, this only applies to the English Premier League and isn't the case in just about every other league on the planet, where matchday revenues are still the basis of the clubs very existence.
And that only happened because of the massive interest from fans from around the world in watching United (and to lesser degree other clubs) in England.
I am not arguing that its more important, but simply that United wouldnt be where they are today without foreign fans. Just like they wouldnt be where they are without match going fans.

This is inside information and there’s all sorts of trouble with leaking that sort of thing. I really doubt people are leaking much, especially not to former players

Hard to take seriously the idea that Rio has inside information on the takeover in the same video where he says he tries find out the latest updates by "waking up every morning and reading the newspapers"
To be fair it's encouraging that he wakes up every morning.

He probably knows more than most of the tweets we’ve been discussing on here.

It’s much more uplifting to discuss Rio giving us some hope than the moral crusaders bollocks we’ve seen here last few days again.

It's a male thing. You let someone know that you like a certain bands music and it'll be his life's mission to prove he's a bigger fan than you based on the fact he had a bootleg copy of the concert at Aberdeen civic hall in 1971

He’s still friendly with Darren Fletcher amongst others, perfectly reasonable to think they might have been briefed.
In the video he says he hopes, and wakes up every morning hoping for news. He is just like any other fan from what it seems.

Rio would have information before. Rio wouldn't break something like that if it came from an actual legit source though. It'd leak out in the press before he got to it.
