Not to mention the money that needs to be invested in the stadium and training ground after 18 years of neglect. The Glazers have left the club to rot to a point where state ownership is the only way to fix it. Words cannot describe how much I hate those parasites.
Not to mention all the dividends theve siphoned off down the years

Them thread banned boys that had been away
Nothin’s changed, or so The Times may say
But man, I still think them cats are crazy

They were askin' if Jassim’s around
How he was, where he could be found
I told 'em he was livin' in Doha town
Drivin' old Jim Brexit crazy

You know that Sheikh that used to bid a lot
Every night he’d be on the floor, ‘Sheikhin' what he’s got
Man, when I tell you he was cool, he was red-hot
But I mean, that’s Sportswashin'

And that time over at Sir Jim’s place
Well, Reuters got up and they slapped Jimmy’s face
Man, we just fell about the place
If that Sheikh don't wanna bid, just forget him

Gazing in Berba’s windowsill
The bids will flow and blood will spill
And if Man City wanna cheat, the FA will let 'em

We will sell a few players and boost our funds anyway. Ten Hag is a man with a plan, and your boy Jassim will boost the Jan window which is basically unheard of. Will be a big contrast from Wout Weghorst.

Trust the process :wenger:
It looks a shoe-in for Jassim from here. Surely that’s a positive for you?
Would be more positive IF I didn't have that INEOS are favourites Times article sitting on my shoulder like a little devil. The sooner Jassim gets exclusivity sooner I can relax a little more. Unfortunately I don't see Ratcliffe pulling out of process much as I want it to happen. Obviously I have already accepted that it's too late for Jassim to have any impact this summer.

I know what you’re saying but it’s just annoying when we had rounds 1-2-3 in what March/April. Why is there weeks and weeks before anything happens. Just hammer it out. The indecision within the Glazer family is extremely frustrating. Take your billions that’s you’ve done nothing for and enjoy old age.
No argument here. To me, the main problem has been the football journalists and whoever have been feeding them.

A normal transaction of this nature would not be covered like a transfer saga, but that is exactly the kind of coverage it has received because football journalists feel this story is within their scope (newsflash: it isn't) and know it will draw money and attention. In normal circumstances for this type of transaction, we might hear an occasional story reporting on who is bidding, the structure of their bids, and any material developments.

Instead, we have gotten sensationalist drivel airing every whim of the sellers and bidders to the public, a lot of which probably hasn't even been more than half truthful. This has created such an anxiety-inducing and volatile experience for the fans, along with setting false expectations for where we are at in the process and when we can expect a conclusion on more than one occasion. Absolutely shameful, but they don't care.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
I don’t remember Xavi being like this as a player, but since his managerial career, the De Jong saga last summer…..he strikes me as a pathological liar who’d sell his own mother for the right price
Funny thing is I think there's a fairly strong chance he'll be Man Utd manager at some point, especially if SJ does end up buying the club. Xavi has always talked well about us, saying that we're his favourite English club and that he gave serious thought to joining us when we were apparently interested in the early 00's. He obviously has links to Qatar and (according to Xavi) SJ himself.

So if he does well at Barca but at some stage ends up leaving them (either his choice or if they go through a rough patch in the future), I'd expect to see him here if it lines up with a time that we're looking for a new manager.

Wouldn't be against that in the future and isn't he another who was a big Scholes fan in that early 00's era. Definitely could have won more Champions Leagues with him

Honestly this is a problem with modern news media in general. Several executives of larger news corporations have made it pretty clear that traditional news isn't financially viable any longer and all news divisions are currently considered a branch of the entertainment industry - with all that entails.

I don't think it's so much clueless reporters, as it is the pressure that comes with the shift from traditional informative news to profitable entertainment content. You see the effects here in this thread even, where people seem genuinly mad that a world record sale of a sporting franchise is taking a long time.

These companies have also stopped being balanced, because it isn't profitable anymore. Because of algorithms and most people just filtering out content they don't like, slanter coverage has become part of the normal, and we end up with the idea that media companies support different camps. While in reality they are looking at what generates engagement (clicks, comments, links, hashtags) and doubling down on that. Truth is if we stopped caring about their nonsense, they would stop publishing it.

There won't be any real news until the final sale is announced - which will be front page news on every news source in the world given the scope of this deal. Anything published and discussed before that is noise, conjecture and entertainment.

This will reach 2000 pages and nothing will be done. A deal this massive takes time.

Hopefully in July we will celebrate the coming of Jassim, second of his name, slayer of City and SJR’s bane.

Since the day the Glazers announce plans to sale Manchester United in November, I knew they will drag on all season and maybe beyond this summer, nothing we can do about it so we may as well chill out, enjoy the weather and wait for the Glazers to announce their decision. Football journalists are peed off because nothing is leaking, so some are just playing a guessing game and hoping they’re right. That’s why one day Qatar are favourites, then the next Ineos, a deal is imminent but nothing happens. It’s made worse by the season being over and there’s little else to talk about football wise. Whether it's Qatar or Ineos all we need is a leader that will love the club, respect and work with the fans to build a new club, deal with the debt and streamline the club.

I get tired of this saga. Why are the Glazers doing this to us they must state their intentions how long must the fans suffer this is sadistic
I think we are in the end game now. Hopefully we can get the preferred bidder announced this month.

You missed a bombshell from Reuters actually.

Qatar after the initial and tentative informal negotiations and months of formal negotiations after the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round of bids with the Glazers, they have made a huge breakthrough. They're now negotiating to enter into an exclusive period of negotiations which would grant them exclusivity (maybe), where presumably they will open negotiations to buy the club.

Exciting stuff.

I'm rooting for the Qataris just for the sheer madness that will ensue from some posters
If that's your thing imagine the carnage if it turned out to be Brexit Jimbo, the world would ring with the sound tens of thousands of keyboards simultaneously smashing and the wailing of a million transfer muppets.

Fecking disgusting is what it is!
If only history had taken a different path, ie SAF hadn’t fallen out with JP McManus over that racehorse.
Proper due diligence would have meant it would’ve been all but impossible for Malcolm Glazers offer to be even taken seriously. It feels like we’ve all been scammed by them.

Thanks

Im away again Monday and Tuesday so I’ll be doing the same again after the weekend and checking things again Wednesday. I’ll hope something more happens then but I’ll keep my expectations low on that front

in my mind just trying to make sense of the clutter.

1. Reuters have been leaked to via Raine (?), a story that the exclusivity agreement is being prepared.

2. The Times are stating that SJR has not been informed
3. Mike Keegan hasn't as yet confirmed anything for SJ

Given the above, and the fact that the Glazers are relentless in trying to keep the bidding war firing, you would think that SJR has been told directly by the Raine Group that the other bidder is looking better (but has not yet been told that he is out, SJR has may thinking this is the boy who called wolf strategy, given the process must be mentally grinding with continuous hints to improve bids) and has not responded. Perhaps by leaking the information the Glazers are trying to add the accelerant of being serious, in the hope that SJR will again bite.

No doubt if the exclusivity agreement is being prepared, then SJ's instructions to his legals is to get them finalised as soon as possible before these sellers change their minds.

I don't know how long it will take for these agreements to be drawn up, but this has been going on for months and the lawyers will know what is required, SJ must have instructed them to work day and night to tie down the other side?

However reading between the lines, from what other posters have said, once the agreement has been drawn up then the seller normally moves forward with the selected buyer, the agreement refers to the mechanics of transfer of assets payment, consents from regulators etc.

Question is how long will the Glazers wait before making the declaration.

The fact they haven't as yet suggests they won't until the document is essentially signed, maybe they don't want to declare anything just in case there is still leverage required in agreeing the final terms?
