Yes that's what I'm thinking, doesn't matter if it's a breakaway or not. If it happens we'll have something more analogous to the NFL.
Agree again, it's been moving that way for a while now with the influences from USA interests being the prime movers. Actually, if you think about it the EPL is in many ways already a 'super league' , except it's a national league and doesn't include teams from Germany, Spain , Italy, France etc. but is still subject to FIFA laws/ rules. It easy to see why through the relative success of the Champions League and the Europa Leagues that the top clubs in Europe, would like some Super Euro League, especially if was freed from the constraints of UEFA/FIFA, but our teams would in effect be risking 'trading down' if they joined.

It always surprised me that our top clubs Utd, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham even contemplated joining the 'Super League' as it was first ventured, they were already part of the best/most competitive National league in Europe, probably world wide; the one that drew more TV sales, sponsorship deals and attracted more foreign players and was still operating within the laws/rules of existing bodies.

OK, some of our top teams have had 'run-ins' with UEFA from time to time, Manchester City especially, but 'cutting your nose off to spite your face' is not the answer and I think most of our clubs have now woken up to that fact.

Glazers are seemingly now considering the 'long game' as far as raising the value of their asset with United.

Hmmm not sure what the significance is? Anyone have any experience of these kind of accounts?

That tweet doesn't mean much if the story of both sides being ready to go is true.

At this point, I've entered into 'name on the shirt' mode with these Glazer clowns.

What do we think will happen first?

- this thread hits 2000 posts
- the club gets sold
It'll be the 2000 in either case, but by the time the deal is actually done it'll be 3000 or more

There will be a boom of posts in the aftermath of a bid being accepted. A mix of people complaining and celebrating

It's the sort of crap that makes day traders over react shortly before getting krilled by a high speed algorithmic trading A.I Blue Whale

What's annoying with tweets like that is the stupid blue tick which means feck all right now but was somewhat useful (if not 100% reliable) in the past.

But I remain hopeful it'll be Qatar because I don't see how this would work with the Glazers staying.

The Oracle has spoken

Common quotes found in M&A contracts according to Law Insider:

Merger of Merger Sub into the Company. Upon the terms and subject to the conditions set forth herein, at the Effective Time, Merger Sub shall be merged with and into the Company, and the separate existence of Merger Sub shall cease. The Company will continue as the surviving corporation in the Merger (sometimes referred to herein as the “Surviving Corporation”) and as a wholly owned subsidiary of Acquirer.
Nine Two have set up a merger company to become incorporated into United prior to takeover? Right...right?

Is this another situation that will be played down as just part of the process, just to speed things up should they be the successful bidder?

Who do we think would win in an actual fight to the death? SJ has that frankenstein roblox body build that should come with a lot of strength, but Ratcliffe has that wily drunken weasel style to him, the kind where you bottle him but it only makes him stronger because the bloody alcohol dripping down into his mouth produces a freakish popeye style reaction.
Ratcliffe fights dirty, I reckon - all eye gouging, fish hooking, kicks to the groin and hair pulling.

Assume it means nothing and is done incase they are successful? Begs the question for timing though, why not a month back when the original incorporation was filed?
Might have been a while back, may have only been discovered today. The search on the Cayman Islands registry needs a payment of $100 :wenger:

It could be everything or nothing. It certainly means they are still in the game but we knew that.

Would the Glazer held company not be transferred to the Nine Two sub vehicle, ie Nine Two will own United who (United) would be a sub entity? The Acquirer being Nine Two

The merger sub (owned by the acquirer) becomes part of the parent company prior to a merger or acquisition.

All the traffic from United fans seems to have slowed/broken the Cayman Islands registry site

Everyone giving ouit about the Glazers and how American owners just want franchises and they'll move them to whatever city is best regardless of heritage, remember this day when you have to travel to the Cayman Islands to watch us play.
