Funny isn't it? I reckon we won't be accepting even 150m for him if those no names midfielders are going for obscene amount and we just signed a teenager who is yet to have a breakout season for 72m.
Which teenager did the club sign for 72m?

Rashford literally had 1 mediocre season. What are you even on about?

His 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 season were very good. His 2021-2022 season was terrible, but then he bounced back with his best season.

Where are these several mediocre seasons?

You're acting as if he's been terrible and had 1 outlier season.
Don’t bother mate, you’re speaking to someone who’s probably only recently started following United and rates players based off their this season FIFA score.

Improvement in what sense? If we finish 3rd again and win a trophy it’ll be a good season. Like you say - the competition is fierce this year.
Football improvement. More goals, more consistency, stronger mentality. We have struggled greatly to kill off games. We need to dominate and crush other teams, and not turn every game into a 100 minute nail-biter. Too many times we have let teams come back from the dead. And also, as I said, an end to the humiliations that have become seasonal as of late.

This is the improvement I expect, even in an increased competitive environment. Less 1:0s and 2:1s. More 3:0s and 4:1s.

 One season! Rashfords career goals for United is 139, you know what Rooney’s is? 183! And I don’t think I need to remind you that Rooney is United’s all time leading goal scorer.

How can a ‘one season wonder’ possibly have 139 goals for United? Work that one out.
Didn’t Rooney score 253 goals?

Until Rashford shows consistency over consecutive seasons, I reckon he'll be around the 60-65 mil mark not any higher. He is still a gamble signing for most teams unlike say someone like Harry Kane.
Show some respect sir. We just bought an unproven striker for more money than that.

Rooney has 253 goals for United (183 is league goals) and Rashford has 123 (139 includes England).

Not that I disagree with your overall point but important to get the stats right! He has a way to go yet to get to Rooney numbers.

There we are. Thought the numbers sounded a bit off.

Edit: My best mate is a liverpool fan, and he laughed when I said Rashford has a good chance of becoming our record goal scorer. I don’t think people realise quite how well he’s done for his age.

It is, he has 76 PL goals.
I knew something was wrong. He couldn't have scored 139 goals in like 8 league seasons unless you're banging at least 20 goals a year which wasn't true for most of these years. So I went on to check and you're right, it's 76 goals in 239 games. Overall 123 goals in 359 games.

Arteta??? How many years has he been a manager? Too much credit given.
Not sure of the relevance. He’s been Arsenal manager long enough to build his team, and they are a good offensive team that score plenty of goals. One of only a handful of teams in the league that can say that, and we are not one of them. It’s a tough thing to achieve in this league and Arteta has managed it. Ten Hag needs to do the same.

Well, this is it. Ten Hag has received time and investment most other managers can only dream of. He got many of the players he wanted. There can be no more excuses and the time to deliver is at hand. Comfortable Top 5, a vastly improved and competent football leading to a lot more goals, and an end to the seasonal humiliations at the hands of rival teams are my expectations for this season. And I believe they are fair. Fall short of this and this could get hairy for him before long.
I'd expect roughly 85 points, and a good run in the Champions League.

Hardly. He’s received about the same amount of financial backing as any other manager since Fergie retired and starts his second season on merit, having finished third in his first season, after inheriting an absolute pig of a squad that he still hasn’t finished overhauling.

85 points is a proper title challenge and we have not managed that since Sir Alex Ferguson left. Best we've done is 81. Sounds more like wishful thinking than an expectation. I think we are very far from that. We don't have the squad for it. Even Arsenal didn't get 85 last season.

To be honest, I don't expect much more than last season in terms of points. I just expect it to be done in a more convincing manner - scoring a lot more and fixing last season's horrific GD. I don't believe for a second we will once again make 75 points if we put out the same performances as last season. The quality of the league has increased.

I think 80 points would be a good improvement. It wouldn't be a huge surprise to see an 80-85 point season especially if we start well. We finished on 75 last season and we lost the first two games. Both of which I think we win this season, so there is 6 more points right there. I'd like us to get 70+ goals this season as well, which would be 12 more than last season where we had 58. I think both of those are realistic.

He's clearly adding to the squad depth this window, but we still need a proven quality striker.

Our football is crap and needs to get better, simple as. It's not entirely Ten Hag's fault of course, Murtough needs to get off his arse and sign some players who can pass a football.

We desperately need him and his signings to workout. He's cleared the coffers so there's feck all left for the next guy, considering the level of backing he's had for the last 2 seasons.

Yet again no attacking patterns. Antony a nothing player. Casemiro can hardly run anymore. Will be a very long season for ETH.
