Really underwhelming first 3 games for us.
He showcased really good shotstopping against Wolves but then proceeded to become average.

I didn’t see him do that much sweeping, and for all the talk about his passing quality, he hoofed the ball to literally no one several times since start of the season. The first goal today was criminal for instance

I expect much more from him and I hope he can be the goalkeeper we need
He was great against Spurs.

Played with fear today. That what Man United badge does to a mf.
Worrying sign. Hope Onana is the man he thinks he is

I don't know how some people are blaming him for the 2nd goal, it's like they've never watched a top league game live. That's where you really get to appreciate the pace at which things happen.

Poor performance from him. Could've done better on the first goal, and was shockingly passive at times. Dude, where's my sweeping?

I had my doubts ever since we was linked and made them clear.

I want him to do well though and I've seen glimpses of his passing but Jesus that today was worse than Henderson against Salah from a few years back

Under scrutiny so shows a bit of insecurity and nerves, I think that's normal.

I noticed he altered his game after that goal in pre season. We bought him for his sweeper keeper ball playing qualities. He shouldn't listen to the noise.

Was it just me it odd that we pushed a high line today when chasing the game but Onana seemed to stay deep?

Is it possible he or the coaching staff are scarred by that lob in pre-season.

Surely that positioning defeats the whole purpose of signing him?

The way he retreated today was heart breaking. It's almost as if Dalot broke him.

His highlight videos only ever contained passes, but he will need to do a lot of goalkeeping this year if we want to get anywhere near the top 4

Really odd and poor for the first goal and he does seem to have a bit of a tendency to ball watch.

Still an upgrade on De Gea and if we progress, I'm sure he'll be more confident with games. No major issues with him really atm unless people were expecting a Neuer and Schmeichel hybrid.

Seriously? Awoniyi started running with the ball from his own side of the halfway line...

Jesus, we looked absolutely rattled with him included. Let's give him a couple of months at least.

Today it felt like De Gea never left. He didnt come out for anything and passing was just as bad

De gea would've saved that
I used to feel quite comfortable when de Gea was in one-v-one. At one point he was saving all of those.
Somehow that feeling was still there today, but then you see how Onana handled the situation, and you kind of get the feeling that it could have been handled a lot better. De Gea would’ve done it better and probably even saved it.

He had a shocker today. Not sure what happened. Good save at the end mind you.
Wouldn't say it was a shocker. The first goal looked funny cause it looked like a Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 or so glitch, but in 9 out of 10 cases that is a goal.

Iffy game after a good start to the season. I'm not even remotely worried yet.

looks like that goal against Lens broke him. After that he has stopped venturing out.
He ventured far out for the pass to Garnacho in the Spurs game.

Today was weird that it must have been instructions from the coaches.

This. He wasn't left with a great deal of choice. That said the best option is to come out 10 yards, close the striker down and make the striker work for his goal.

I'm not convinced so far. Every game he does something rash and his shot stopping ability looks pretty average.

Very early days yet though. Hopefully he can become an asset to the team once things settle a little.

Early days, I think he will calm down and improve his game as the season goes on.

I wouldn’t criticise him for the first goal. De Gea would have saved that of course but still it was one v one.

Don’t think he was too bad today, first goal is a goal 95% of the time, and Awoniyi is on a hot streak so even more likely to score that one. The second goal the ball literally hits Boly and no one can predict the direction the ball will take.

There were a couple of over the top balls he should have come for but apart from those he was solid I thought.

Poor performance one week, bad signing.
Good performance next week, good signing.

Rinse and repeat

I would - he made it way too easy for the striker. The start to his United-career has been shaky at best

Agreed, the goal wasn't completely his fault but you'd expect an elite keeper like Ederson or Alisson to at least make it difficult for the opponent.

I thought he was all over the place today. The complete opposite of the Spurs performance. Really odd.

Anyway early days,
