Don't have money to sign a CB to replace somebody who refused to leave.

Ten Hag made Maguire 5th choice CB. And stripped him of captaincy. And accepted west hams bid. That's about all you can do.
Then he has to get the best out of the players he has available to him for the time being, as the manager it’s his job to find a system that suits the players he has instead of just saying they’re shit and playing the same 11 players 3 times a week.

How does two big teams having stinkers not affect our position? Even then, Liverpool recovered and got close to beating us to top 4.
Because in the last 15 years only one team has ever missed out on top 4 after getting 75 points. So I'm not sure what your point is.

International break coming at right time. Come back with a casemiro amrabat double pivot.

Everyone over reacting, but we aren't close yet but we will get closer by end of season.
Closer to what exactly? Defining what our style of play is? Closer to top 4? Closer to a title challenge?

Spent another £200m and there's still far too many question marks over our style of play, performances and types of players we're signing.

We have been godawful since March. These 4 games are just us resuming from where we finished last season. It's not just "4 games in" and that's the main issue
The main issue?
Im willing to bet we look much better after the break when we get players back.

The only thing in question is subbing Jonny Evans for Lindeloff. I don’t know why Lindeloff wasn’t left to see out the game. Seemed completely unnecessary to make that sub and if that didn’t happen I think the 2nd goal doesn’t go in.

The margins are tight. If garnacho had delayed his run by a tenth of a second, we would have won.

It took klopp two years if i recall to get things right, so ten hag deserves the same.

Injuries killing us though. Three out of our four starting backs are out.

If we sack him it shows we have a winning mentality because a winning mentality means we ignore the marked and gradual progress made and simply dump him because we're Man United and Man United must win everything always. And when the next manager doesn't win it all in two seasons we'll ditch him too and demonstrate that our winning mentality remains victorious.

I'd say playing away to Arsenal even despite:
  • having no midfielders on the bench
  • no amrabat or Mount to start for legs in midfield
  • not having our first choice LB
  • Not having our first choice CB
  • losing our 1st choice LCB during the game
  • Losing our backup RCB during the game
  • Our first choice CF just now being ready for a sub appearance
Is definitely making the most of what you have available. We played them level. Chances were about the same. XG was about the same heading into the 90th minute. It was decided on Garnacho being a hair length offside, and their late late corner turning into a goal. Slimmest of margins. To say that's not making the most of what we had available is just stupid.

Yes, the main issue is that we have been godawful since March, ending last season in an awful manner then starting the next season exactly as we finished last season, playing like shit, losing against any decent team away from him and barely scrapping wins at home. We were like this last season ever since we won that league cup which means at least 3 months of being shit and now we are still the same.

We have been continuously and steadily regressing while giving ton of excuses for that.

Fans thinking it was all gonna be sweetness and light with 1 season + 4 games, after having to deal with Ronaldo, Maguire, McFred, Greenwood, Sancho, Glazers etc. are completely delusional.

Another manager would be another reset and a set of players thinking they’ve won a battle again.

Klopp took years to even START getting Liverpool looking decent.

So fickle, so spoilt

Its a new season. We started poorly.
Last season we lost some key players like Eriksen and Martinez and started playing like crap. We also didn’t have a proper striker.

We started this season again without a striker and injuries in the back line.

I don’t know what to say other than clearly our squad is not deep enough to deal without having key players. Thats something we need to fix

Kim Min Jae was right there. Simply don't sign Mount and go with Fred for another year. He left for a packet of crisps anyways.

Excuses.

We were in a comfortable position to get out of there with a point but instead we threw forwards on and left our selves exposed knowing full well we had a patched defence who are shit on the ball.

Garnacho was offside, doesn’t matter if it’s 10 yards or 1cm, the goal doesn’t count.

We insist on playing one way and one way only which is why he keeps picking the same 11 players most weeks because the other squad players can’t do what he’s asking, and which is why we find ourselves losing when they play, and then come a bunch of excuses about him needing more players or more money.

If he didn’t have £400m available to him to buy the players he has we probably wouldn’t have won a single game since he came in.

He needs to switch it up and try to play a team that is balanced and by balanced I’m talking about skillset we had a midfield 3 today, where none of them can carry a ball. We have a winger that dribbles but is always getting catched and has to play it backwards. We got another winger that never plays a pass and hogs the ball. It’s time to switch it up. I’m not talking whole sale changes just some tweaks here and there for the greater good of the team. We looked like we don’t know how to progress a ball and looked very bad in possesion until the game opened up and Arsenal was going for the winner.

I think Ten Hag is the right man for the job and was pretty impressed with how he turned around last season's awful start.

But almost every season since Ferguson retired there has been an onset of negativity which eventually developed into toxicity which no United manager was able to turn around. With all the off field issues around the sale of the club, Greenwood and now this, I think we might be seeing another spiral.

Today:

Shaw injured.
Varane injured.
Martinez injured today.
Lindelof went off injured towards the end.
Mainoo injured.
Mount injured.
McTominay injured.
Sancho disciplined.
Amrabat not available.
Amad injured.
Malacia injured.

How do you think it'd go if the following as true instead? :-

Zinchenko injured.
Saliba injured.
Gabriel injured today.
White went off injured towards the end.
Nelson injured.
Rice injured.
Jorginho injured.
Tomiyasu injured.
Vieira injured.

Would they have fought the way we did today with that kind of handicap? Please try to consider just how disadvantaged we were today.

Which midfielder should he play that can carry the ball?

Nice to see people are already looking for him to be sacked. The media spin will probably ramp up over the Sancho bullshit.

Genuinely think it takes 2-3 years to weed out the crap and rebuild a squad that is capable of putting up a consistent challenge for top trophies over a sustained period. If that's what we want then he needs to be given the time to mould the squad to meet his needs.

Ladies ladies let not get heated. Arsenal away is always a tough game. We have Brighton next. Hopefully, we can get a stronger response in that game. We are playing at home as well. Season will start there:devil:
Im not that heated but the poster is clearly mistaken

Theres no immediate fixing this squad. Its full of garbage. Years and years of absolute garbage. Maybe technically good but no drive, no bottle. It was a squad put together by bankers and yes men. Squad itself has hanky wavers all across the board. We can chuck another 200 mill and it won't fix it over night. It will be a process and we need be patient.

Or we just fire ten hag and get another manager with a different philosophy and continue this hilarious merry go round

Maybe he shouldn't lie
Again feel free to quote me and show me where I lied. I never said we created more than Arsenal. I said we were not open and Arsenal created little in the first half and even up to the 80th minute

Its ok if you are mistaken. Its no ok to go around calling people liars

Get out of here with logical thinking. This thread is for Ronaldo fanboys to moan about ETH and calling for his sacking

We were so open Arsenal had 1 shot on target in the first half and didn’t create much else up until the 80th minute of the game
They had 9 shots, with one on target because Havertz is a Zimbabwean league standard.

Play like that against Man City or Liverpool on their turfs and ship 13 goals again. Maybe then, you would blame the awful results on De Gea’s lack of ball playing abilities or Ronaldo’s lack of pressing.

Uhm, nope. He reached the EL final in his first (half) season, finished 3rd in first full season, 4th next season with UCL final, then CL win and league win in next two.
So he did turn it around quickly and bar the first half season in charge where he didn’t get signings in and last season, has finished top 4 consistently.

Gonna try with a bit of positivity.

It wasn’t a bad performance, and I thought we looked well set up for the most part. We were relatively solid and looked comfortable with the ball at the back.

I have hope we can create more when Hojlund and Amrabat settle in.

Maybe it’s just me but has anyone else noticed that our patterns of play have improved this season and that we don’t look at the football as like a bomb to kick away. I feel like the 6 points from 4 games are more down to fitness issues ( which is still not good enough and on ETH) more than the quality of football.
