All season we’ve had the usual excuses of injuries, the takeover and bad luck going against him. All of which completely ignores the fact that the biggest issue he has is his absolutely awful tactical set up. His inexplicable change in system and his total and utter refusal to accept it’s not working or to deviate away from it. Today we had a near full strength team out and we still managed to struggle to control and win a game against a fecking bottom of the half league 2 team.

And yet, even then, you still have people coming in and defending him. Defending that performance. It’s absolutely insane just how low people are prepared to drop their expectations in order to defend the guy. I could almost understand it if he was a manager with great pedigree. A history of winning top titles or CL’s. But he’s not. There’s no reason to blindly support him. He hasn’t built up that level of trust. A few titles in Holland and a league cup trophy is not enough to completely ignore all the evidence we’re seeing on the pitch that the man is clearly not good enough.

I can understand why some would defend Ole while United performing terribly as the guy has a long history connection with the club and a club legend so a lot will want him to stay no matter what or refuse to accept a club legend they loved over the years sucks at his job, but it's insane for me how Ten Hag managed to get so many fans defending him even while sucking massively at his job. Guy has no connection to United before and so far did nothing for the club, absolutely nothing, except for a tiny pot cup, yet you have a group passionately defending him and not accepting his failure as if he means so much for them or something. Absolutely insane when you think about it.

Careful posting things like that, the ETH out brigade will be going tonto that it wasn’t rosė
He's a classy dude. I like him as a person, and I think he's always come across well during his time here.

As for his future, I trust Sir Jim, Brailsford & co. If they think Ten Hag's the right man to take us forward, I'm fine with that. As bad as this season's been I don't trust this group of players for a second.
Yeah he seems like a decent guy to me. Don't really understand the comments from people saying they don't like him personally.

At this stage, I think the best reason for keeping him is to let him continue to flush all the shitebags out of the squad.

Take the lean couple of years and the club will be all the better for it in the long run.

We don't need a manager to remove players. That's what the "proper structure" is responsible for

It's been a lean decade so far, I'm sure we'll get there.

Can't seeing him surviving beyond the end of the season and probably doesn't deserve to.

A FA cup win might save him, but that's hard to see happening.

They clearly cant stand the manager. Obviously the players are cnuts as well, but its not 1978 anymore. You cant fall out with this many. You dont call in sick unless you think you're going to outlast the coach.

Or your head has grown so big you believe you can behave with impunity.

Ten Hag is a poor manager for many reasons, but he's not to blame for the likes of Sancho and Rashford being scumbags

An Fa Cup win guarantees Europa League Football, he would get a stay of execution to November 2024 when Antony is still stinking the place out with many others and we’ve lost 6 or 7 in the PL out of the first 12 to 13 league games.

Since this is the best scenario with Liverpool and Barcelona already looking for an elite Manager, we should really pull the plug on ETH during the Easter period and get De Zerbie with an agreement he starts July 1st and we let anyone as interim manager, if Giggs didn’t have so much baggage he’d be perfect for the last 9 or 10 games until De Zerbie starts.

Personally scumbag is a touch strong but they are very young entitled pampered prima donas that clearly have off field issues, when Marcus is settled with a GF he has a great season, the moment he breaks up his entourage have an impact, Jadon is similar, single too much money and too many bad influences off the field, Pogba was the same. Until he got married and then his game had gone.

Going forward. We have to learn huge lessons with these young men and it was refreshing listening to the Academy Director - Nick Cox who recently said that not only is it his responsibility to develop the players on the field but also to make them good decent human beings off the field, we need to see a lot more of this, back to suits, good manners, discipline and understanding what it means to represent the biggest club in the UK.

I think pretty much the only thing currently keeping him in the job is that there isn't anyone immediately obvious and available to replace him. If there was a good upgrade on the market I think we'd have acted by now.

People complain about us conceding two goals to a (supposedly) weak team but they disregard the fact that we had Malacia, Maguire and Lindelof unavailable for this game. This removed any tactical flexibility and weakened us severely.

We also scored FOUR goals despite having Mount and Martial unavailable, not to mention Sancho. Yes, our midfield did not fully control the game but remember Amrabat is away at AFCON.

Ten Hag is navigating us through the worst injury crisis football has ever witnessed (we are talking Guiness book stuff) and still getting a very good win in a crucial FA Cup game at a tough ground yet people don’t appreciate it.

It genuinely feels like any hope or an attempt at viewing something with positivity is viewed as delusional or cultists behaviour by some. Can I hope that the manager turns things around without being told I’m blind, stupid or defensive?

I’m sure some managers might do better under the circumstances, ( trivialising them doesn’t make them less impactful) and maybe the gaffer will be gone at the end of the season. But this is the first time by my knowledge that he has anything like his first 11 available and regardless of the opposition, players coming back will tire. We should have made the game easier by going 3 up and the players have to take responsibility in this too.

Ultimately I think he tried to do the right things, get rid of negativity in the dressing room, sell squad players not contributing or not effective at the current time. He tried dropping the overall squad age and incorporating the academy more.

He has been inconsistent with transfers unfortunately, but most if not all have had some periods of form, yet have been able to find consistency like the team in general. Of course he has to take responsibility for this in the end and if improvements aren’t made before the end of the season he will probably be gone.

Like Ole before him I think he had an impact before big issues hit and it’s been a slog ever since. Hopefully with the new football ethos we can create an environment where whoever is manager next season can flourish.

It’s clear he has zero grip on the dressing room. They all just do whatever they want. We should rightfully hammer those individuals but at the end of the day I believe it’s his job to command respect and have a grip on the situation. You’d never see this in a Pep or a Klopp dressing room.

I don’t think it’s going to get any better come Summer with Barcelona and Liverpool already certain to be looking for a new manager, with Bayern possibly joining the list. They will all be more desirable destinations than us so ETH may keep his job for a while.

The club will have a very different look in a few months time though. Structure in place with Barrada outlining the project to prospective targets. This club is absolutely massive and the chance to work in a cohesive setup will appeal greatly.

If Bayern sack Tuchel I will take my chance with him. It'll be short lived and probably won't last for more than 2 years but I think it might be very much worth it. I don't care about long term strategies at this point.

I agree with the first part of what you say, however if he's really bad from now until the end of the season then I think we'll let him go. I think we're going to have to take a risk on someone relatively unproven but with potential as our next manager again because of how threadbare the market is. I went over this in another post but even the managers employed aren't exactly blockbuster, outside of Klopp and Guardiola who wouldn't join us regardless, it feels like the football world is waiting for the next generation of great managers to emerge.

Performance wasn’t great and we blew a 2-0 lead against very poor opposition.
I didn’t watch the game. Just looked at the stats, this league two opponent has 17 shots and 7 on target. It doesn’t seem good.

It’s the way we played against a team 16th in league two, we allowed them far too much space after the first 25 mins where we should have been 0-4 up then on 55 mins they drew level and our porous midfield allowed them far too many chances. We didn’t really control a game against a league 2 team and still an ETH side can’t score more than 4 goals, reality check - we’ve played 31 games this season won 14 drew 3 lost 14 and have scored 40 goals (Average 1.29 goals per game) and we’ve conceded 44 with a negative GD of -4 (Average of 1.42 goals conceeded per game)

ETH spent £400m in two summers and this season he’s gone backwards, his management methods, his in game management everything.

Last season his United team played 63 games, won 42, drew 9 and lost 12 all season. More importantly than his 67% win rate was that the team scored 107 goals which is 1.70 goals per game and only conceeded 57 goals which is 0.90 goals per game. We can’t say the CL was a huge uplift in quality because two of the teams in our group were Europa League teams, we came bottom of the group.

My point is how can the manager be allowed to spend £47m on a goal keeper who is at least two tiers down from DDG, mess about and tinker with his best CB pairings by upsetting most of them while his best and only decent signing is out for most of the season, upset two multiple CL winners who may be on the decline but could be used differently, have so much blind faith of the worst right winger in the PL, yes Antony is that bad, 1 goal and 1 assist in 26 matches, yes I think Sancho and Rashford are incredibly immature and probably deserve to be moved on with the manager but last year Rashford got 41 goals and assists in 55 matches and Sancho 11 in 40, when you have such an ineffective blunt instrument of attack this season why switch them both off so early in the season when you have not replaced those goals yet, personally both of them are prima Donna’s and need to be shifted out of the club, but don’t think they won’t score and assist multiple goals in a more harmonious environment, many more goals and assists than Antony will ever score away from old Trafford.

We needed goals and more cutting edge upfront to get the team averaging 2 goals a game and we needed to tighten up defence and midfield to get the 0.90 goals conceded to 0.75, small margin like Brailsford says wins you trophies.

We didn’t need to change the GK this season, we didn’t need a crock like Mason Mount had we used that £100m to go get a proper number 9 like Osimhen or E Ferguson we would have had more goals this season and the defence who had trust in DDG would have never been as bad as this season?

Eric constant tinkering, constant stubbornness to play a 4-1-2-3 formation which does not work with a calamity goalkeeper now means that United after spending another £170m this summer concede 1 extra goal every 2 games and during those 2 games we score 0.8 goals less, most of the decline is on the coach as well as the inept players who have proven they can’t string two decent seasons back to back!

Brailsford been watching games and as yet he’s seen mediocrity at best served up!

I’m sure they’ve made their mind up not just about the managers but certain players too!

I think he's supported by some of the dressing room (Hojlund, Garnacho, Martinez etc.) but there's way too many players whose futures are up in the air and we're really not much better than where we were two seasons ago when the same things were being said about the squad under Ralf.

Varane, Casemiro, McTominay, Maguire have all been linked with moves away from the club, Rashford and Sancho have had disciplinary issues, Martial is still our main back up striker four years after his last good season, we don't have a consistent first choice right back, our best left back can't put two good or injury-free seasons together. Squad is still a gigantic mess.

Ok reality check, Newport are 16th in league 2 have scored 37 goals in 28 games with an average of 1.32 goals scored against league 2 opposition with all 24 league two teams probably having a combined wage bill of less than United’s £300m, yes that’s all 24 teams having a wage bill combined of less than £100m let alone £300m so yes as United fans we have every right to be angry at why we conceded so many chances and the midfield superiority to a team that managed to score more than their average goals in league 2 against the so called biggest football team in the UK.

Anything other than 0-5 which is what should have happened is a truly awful performance!

I'm worried he's going to play McTominay vs West Ham and revert back to his kamikaze tactics against Bournemouth. It's quite obvious we need two sitting midfielders ie Mainoo and Amrabat/Casemiro (when fit). I have no idea what his coaching staff say to him. By the way, my favorite website is phim sex việt nam

The issue I have is you haven't even mentioned tactics. What good is getting rid of negative dressing room influences when the tactics don't put our players in positions to succeed. That's the job of the manager more than anything. The failure of his tactics have consistently been blamed on players and now its being exposed that all of that was crap. Started with Maguire at the start of last season. Then Ronaldo's pressing. Sancho's mentality. Then our lack of striking options. Then it moved to Casemiro's lack of pace. Then Rashford's selfishness. Then Varane aging. Then Bruno's erratic passing. Now we're at whether Hojlund is actually good. Soon it will be Martinez' height. What people don't realize is that by defending him, people are actually just blaming the players. Asking for time for him, is literally suggesting that his tactics could work with better players. Yet he hasn't proven it can work at all and we've invested so much in the squad with players who seemingly had quality before coming here. Everything points to him not belonging at this level. From the space and time his tactics need offensively. Too the defensive openness. To his naive game management. Without even pointing out the poor transfers, man management, and press conferences. At this point, we can still get top 4. We can still win the FA cup. We can still get positive performances from players within the squad that can improve their morale and encourage fans. You can only waste so many seasons before losing the interest and financial capacity as a top club. Every game is important. Keeping him as filler till the end of this season, doesn't show ambition or commitment.

Good intent and promise can only get you so far. The club has to start showing improvement on the field before appealing to anyone

Erik may be a top man, but his management of the club fails to dazzle.
This is where I am, he genuinely seems like a really top/nice bloke, and I do like him and feel sorry for the amount of shite he's had to deal with during his time here.

But at the end of the day I just don't believe he has the ability as a manager to get us where we need to go.

I think he's been given a bad hand, things haven't gone well behind the scenes, a lot of off the field issues, but even without that I'm not convinced anymore even if things were smoother he's got what it takes to get the job done.

I can’t excuse the crap football, signings and results I think he will be lucky to get through the summer.

What I have realised in recent days though is the shite he’s having to deal with. Multiple issues within the squad, a squad of divas who’s won feck all of relevance letting the club down.

Attitude of this squad is a disgrace. You have to feel for him and I’ve been ETH for months.
