I don’t even know why Shaw went of to be honest, he pick up a knock? We’ve tried Amrabat there before actually.
Most likely, i cant imagine taking off Shaw is tactical and Shaw is known to pick up injuries often. Amrabat started off his first games as the left back but he was bad there. Lindelof seems like the only option ETH had today.

I mean it's great that we won but lets not pretend there was nothing to moan about. We were getting battered for large parts of that game. We got away with it but will take it
The injuries over the season have simply made the rest of season purely result based. Get as high up the table as possible.
Anyone waiting to see Ajax or City-esq footy for the rest of the season is going to be disappointed.
3 points is all that matters! Get in Ten H! Love to see it!

Good use of McT as a super sub, somehow he come up with lot of winning goals.

Performance wasn't good but tbf it is one of the toughest ground to play this season and we started really well. It was only after our first goal we gave up playing.

Luton Fulham Forrest coming up..

Then City

Then Everton Sheffield Brentford..

He could be setting himself for the Top4 race in the final months of the season

He is right. Performances are more important than results. Poor poor performance against an out of form villa
Performances are more important than results? There's silly, and then there's objectively false.

Great teams find a way to win when they aren't playing well, we've done that tonight in a tough away game against a team who have been imperious at home for most of this season in their biggest game of the season.

Wait… are we a great team? Bizarre take given our position in the table.

Huge result for him. Win against a top half team. It’s fine margins in football but that’s 4 wins in a row since the better players have returned from injury, albeit we’ve a couple more defensive injuries again, already.

I want to see Mount, Mainoo and Bruno when everyone's healthy. Casemiro brings a lot defensively, and is still really good at guarding zone #14, but he's not comfortable in receiving the ball in the midfield in tight situations.

I cant accept this, we are going nowhere. We are playing with our best players minus Martinez and the football last few weeks has been the same.

sack him when the season ends.

Performances are still shaky but we're picking up results which is important.

We are back in last season mode. Meh performances but grinding out results. I’ll take it.

We're quite literally going up the table pal. That's how it works when you keep winning games. An incredible revelation I know!

The strawmen are out already, that isn't what I said and you know it. It's sad that fans on here who dislike Ten Hag are more annoyed about our win than Villa fans are!

We aren't a great team, of course not, but what we did tonight was absolutely a hallmark of being a great team, if we can keep up grinding out wins in tricky away games then that would take us a long way towards becoming one!

That last sentence is just nonsense. It wasn’t a poor performance overall, never mind a “poor poor” one. Villa are a very tough side to beat at home and we were never going to dominate them but the stats are close enough. We certainly didn’t rope a dope them.

Same ambition as it was in October 2023, the bare minimum. Kick the can down the road till next season. Arrest the -ve results and kick the can as we go.

In my opinion yes. Results will always follow performances, sooner or later results will catch up to the performances, good or bad.

They have been completely out of form, got destroyed at home by Chelsea 3 days ago. Not the same imperious at home Villa from 2 months ago.

There is hope for making the champions league but if that helps Erik keep his job that would ultimately be very harmful for the club
