I heard Berbatov had no answer to the mighty McShane!!
A former United player that used to be on the reservesMcShane was a God today. He made Spurs look extremely ordinary.
What against the best front 4 in the league?McShane was a God today. He made Spurs look extremely ordinary.
Keano 1 - GlastonSpur 0
Indeed. The best strike quartet around was no match for the young ginge at the back. Berbatov was shite today. What against the best front 4 in the league?
He needs chances to put them away. He got one decent opportunity last night, and very nearly finished it home with a sweet header. He has showed in the games against Sunderland and Everton that he's got one of the best touches in the Premier League, and if he's given any kind of service from that rather boring central midfield of theirs, he will provide the goals.Once again I failed to see what the Berbatov hype is all about last night. I have been telling people for months that he is overrated perhaps vindication will finally come.
Yes. They've clearly not done anything in their careers. All hype IMVHO.Yes, let's judge players on the early parts of the season.
I wonder what you've got to say about people like Scholes and Giggs who were fecking abysmal on Sunday, are they now suddenly 'hype'?

Excuses, excuses excuses. I am not saying Berbatov isn't a good player far from it. I think he is a good striker just not worth the hype towards the end of the season and indeed throughout the summer. Plus it is an insult to any footballing mind with an ounce of intelligence to mention his name next to Thierry Henry's.Yes, let's judge players on the early parts of the season.

FFS, not even Thierry Henry would manage to score with that silly excuse of a midfield Tottenham have behind Berbatov. Do you expect him to score a 30 yard-screamer or dribble past 4 players and slot it hime in every game for him to be a great striker? He is one of the Premiership's very best strikers, although only a spastic like GlastonSpur would liken him to Henry.Excuses, excuses excuses. £25mil plus my arse.
I don't think he's worth £25m but I certainly think he's deserved some of the plaudits he's gotten this past year - not many players who join from other leagues settle so quickly and perform so well.Excuses, excuses excuses. Henry.
Henry.
Henry.
Henry
Henry. Absolute walkover.
I hope for your sake that this is a joke.
Henry
I can't understand this thread. Henry gets injured for a whole season, and all of a sudden, arguably the greatest Premiership player ever, becomes inferior to Berbatov.
Stupid debate.
Berbatov is overrated. One decent season does not a legend make.
Henry for sure.
But who needs them - we're getting Teveth !!
No brainer, henry.
Heart says Berba, head says Thierry.
Henry scored 10 goals in his 17 league appearances, Berbatov scored 12 over the whole league season.
Henry's miles better.
Hah No Comparison at all.
Henry over Berbatov any day of the week.
Tevez is a level above Berbatov, has a pedigree to him prior to going to the PL Berbatov does not and Owen has never and will never be on Henry's level.
In other words, your comparison is way off.
I'd just like to know what Berbatov has done to be mentioned in the same breath as Henry.
Henry.
Without question.
Thierry Henry
The complete striker Berbatov - 12 goals in 33 games.
The finished Henry - 10 goals in 17 games.
Even Henry played through injury and in the the worst form he has been in for Arsenal, Henry > Berbatov......
Henry
no contest
Henry by a mile.
Henry
3 years younger than Henry, he's got a lot of catching up to do then hasn't he?
Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime, all of you.Henry
By a fecking marathon
Yeah, because you have a different opinion then them they're all Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime now?Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime, all of you.
That's taking into consideration that the posts were made a year ago. I would never want Henry in our team, and I wanted Berbatov even before he went to Tottenham.
Nah, because they're muppets preferring a cnut of a player who's past it, instead of a promising one that plays for a considerably lesser club. Looks like chelski supporters the lot of you, wishing for rivals' top players at 30+.Yeah, because you have a different opinion then them they're all Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime now?
And who's to say you're right? It seems like you think you are. Henry could have been brilliant for us, and Berbatov might not be all that brilliant.
He still hasn't proven he is as good let alone better than Henry, another basic point you aren't considering is Henry's injury problems. Obviously right now Berbatov is the more wiser choice due to Henry's injuries but if Henry regains his form and stays injury free then there isn't too much debate as to who the better player is though Berbatov is probably better suited to your needs right now.Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime, all of you.

Would you have Lampard and Terry here if they were better than Ferdinand and Scholes? That makes two of us.Just finished reading it. I'm happy with my opinions within the thread so I don't have to hide anything.
KingEric7, I still think you're a cnut. :P
So you'd never want the best player to grace the Premiership in your team back then?Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime, all of you.

If I'd wanted United to buy Torres, Henry, Drogba, Fabregas, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard etc I could spend my days doing something else than following football. So you'd never want the best player to grace the Premiership in your team back then?
This is quite a silly bump, really. I'd say the same over and over again regarding the decision. Hindsight is wonderful when you consider the way Henry has gone since going to Spain, but it probably would've been very different had Henry stayed in England. Berbatov has turned out to be a fine player, but he has and never will be as good as Henry at the peak of his powers.
You seem to misunderstand me completely. I didn't want anyone this summer, nor did I think we needed anyone. I'm sure Berbatov will be a good signing, though. If I'd wanted United to buy Torres, Henry, Drogba, Fabregas, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard etc I could spend my days doing something else than following football.
It'd be amusing to know how you came to this conclusion when you consider that I don't think I've ever come across you on this forum......That makes two of us.
You don't have to make conversations to get opinions. In forums all is there to read to form your own. It'd be amusing to know how you came to this conclusion when you consider that I don't think I've ever come across you on this forum......
You strike me as the sort of person that would be up in arms if I said something like "Messi is a better footballer than Ronaldo".
We let Van Nistelrooy go, he was a cnut, and he was old, and he turned out well for Real now didn't he?Nah, because they're muppets preferring a cnut of a player who's past it, instead of a promising one that plays for a considerably lesser club. Looks like chelski supporters the lot of you, wishing for rivals' top players at 30+.
Who the feck cares? What is even your point? I, just now, said I don't want our rivals' biggest cnuts playing for us. I can see that a little glory hunter like yourself would love to have Terry and Drogba in our team as long as we're winning trophies, but I want to win the United way; not buying all the world class 30-year-old cnuts we possibly can.We let Van Nistelrooy go, he was a cnut, and he was old, and he turned out well for Real now didn't he?
Henry is still a better player than Berbatov.

1. Berbatov being a cnut is something you can stand for, I won't. I also don't call Tottenham our rivals. I'd rather buy a cnut from Grimsby than a cnut from Liverpool.
You called everyone here who wanted Berbatov instead of Henry here muppets, for no good reason.
Berbatov comes across as a cnut as much as Henry does. Berbatov was Spurs' best player. And Berbatov is only 2 years older.
So then what's your point? Because so far you're not putting it across all that well.
1. So you don't want Berbatov here, is that what you're saying? Most footballers are cnuts now, well most of the good ones. There's no logic in buying a worse player just because he's not from a rival team. If the cnut from a rival team is better, you get him.1. 2. Berbatov is not two years older than Henry, he is 3,5 years younger.
3. I've just told you the reason twice. Some people never learn. But then again I wouldn't expect anything more seventeen-year-old who hasn't had math in school yet.
4. Wipe that silly smile off your face.
Oh, god. Why do I even bother... Seems like the caf isn't a great place to improve one's reading comprehension. If I'd see your mother more often than on weekends I'd force her to get you off the internet and start studying.1. So you don't want Berbatov here, is that what you're saying?
2. Fine.
3. That's a pretty bollocks reason if that's it. I thought you would've expanded on it a bit.
4. Go feck yourself.
