I would like to see the club give Alexis the 2019-20 season to try to turn things around. He'll be turning 30 now and it is still an age where he could help in the short term. He'll need to be physically fit and mentally in the right place, but i'm with the old hope that a new manager can help an underperforming player.

Wouldn't say his problems are purely down to Mourinho. He looks physically shot whenever he plays. Would rather see both Rashford and Martial play in any potential position that he plays in. Hope he still leaves in January.

If we hire someone like Poch or Jardim, Alexis must have zero excuses if he keeps underperforming as he has since he arrived.

Probably has something to do with him not having any time off for years.

Been sad to watch him play at times.

feck, forgot he's that old. He's probably on the NHS waiting list to get a new knee, that's probably why he's been so off the boil for us.

Think Mou said he's out until early January.

I'm clinging on probably false hope of a new manager reigniting his fire, although reality is that he's our version of busted Torres.

Sanchez has been such a let down.

This was supposed to be the season where he really kicked on and showed his best from.

We could really do with him coming into form. Would like to see him as the CF under Ole and i'm still quite optimistic he could come good.

It beats the Redcafe "sports science" specialist who harp about how 36 is the new 19 and because of Zlatan and Giggs it is impossible to think a player can decline in his later years!

I hope Ole finds use for him but this is one player who wasn't shite due to Mourinho. He has just lost his burst.

Feels like he's back in Chile for quite a long time already. Get his arse back here where he should be continuing his recovery at Carrington and get ready for the festive period of matches

Torres actually played in a role he was comfortable playing.

Sanchez is playing as a defensive winger for us, he has never had the qualities to track a runner in our own box and then be in the opposing box 10-15 seconds later. He is a player that plays on the last line, uses his fantastic movement, shot and skill to score and assist.

Sanchez is basically the same player as he was for Arsenal except he's lost a bit of pace, which doesn't mean all that much to him. He's been poorly used during his time here.

Exactly, that has been obvious to anyone who watched him closely at Arsenal.

Also just a victim of variance whose shot accuracy has dried up all of a sudden and teammates are unable to covert chances he creates too. Underlying stats are reasonable. Don’t get why Mou has been dicking with him too.

If Ole uses him as a striker, it's his literal last chance - if he flops again after a few games in the position consistently, we HAVE to get rid.

From what I have seen, he usually has had more attacking freedom than Martial playing on that side.

Are you the ref?
Ole should tell him to get on the next plane and continue his rehabilitation at Carrington. It is utterly ridiculous that he is allowed to go home for an extended holiday when his fitness should be being monitored by our medical staff. It sends a really bad message to the rest of the team.

His pace does seem to be gone.

Can he adapt his game? Its definitely possible because he has lots of good qualities. But it's a big ask. There are no guarantees.

If we get the chance to get him off the wage bill we should. fecking Jose and his signings

If he's completely gone some Chinese club is probably our best chance of a club paying him enough to entice him away.

Feels kind of like when RVP fecked off to Holland during Moyes' time. I agree that he should be rehabilitating at Carrington. I still have hopes from him. He was a 1 in 2 attacker at Arse. We need that kind of contribution from him to lift us.

It might mean a lot. Small differences can have big effects. Pacy players like Giggs who can adapt once they get a bit slower are rare, at least at top top level.

My modest opinion is that Sanchez won't perform at his former best anymore, except for several weeks here and there. Like Rooney who was finished under LVG but was excellent in January 15/16 giving people false hopes that he couild turn it around.

Hopefully he wasn’t happy under Jose and that’s what caused it, as Alexis on form is one of the best in league.

I don’t think it’s likely but one can hope.

He's on his way back as quoted by Ole. I assume back to Manchester. His injury could take another couple of weeks to heal. Hope he is fit starting from the New Year

I think he'll do well upfront or just behind the striker. Just keep him away from the LW and tracking back the whole game, his body can't take it no more. He's got very good qualities in the middle

Totally overreaction.....that happens at every club (Just for example James Rodriguez is currently in Colombia) and that has happened under Fergie too.

My forensic carefully considered analysis of Sanchez irretrievably maintains that he is a vainglorious self-regarding twat.

There is no hope & it was a massively stupid transfer acquisition. At least Mkhitaryan was relatively harmless & not a preening bellend.
