Great news about Man City ending their interest in Sanchez, I hope we get it done this week.
My guess? The agents of De Bruyne and co were made aware of Alexis terms and made City know of itFrom the BBC:
Prohibitive to what? They've got more money than God! Why would they get stingy now. Doesn't make sense to me.
Yeah players are useless once they hit 30.yes but most of the contract is going to be while he is in his 30's
Yeah, he's not getting anywhere close to that at Arsenal and he wants out of there by any means possible.I wouldn't hang my hat on that 350kpw being true either.
no but their arn't many 30+ wide attackers who are still prolific. just think its an awful lot of money to be committing to paying some one when the are near the end of their prime.May as well be a pensioner right?
And yet, if Der Spiegel's story about the most recent leak from Football Leaks is true, Messi has a fixed salary of more than a million pounds a week (~63.000.000 annually)Exactly my thoughts. Could have sworn we’d had loads of players on that wage already according to the papers??? Odd.
Wage “structure”, they are afraid the mercenaries will create a toxic environment if Sanchez comes and becomes top earner. From the BBC:

Daft Redcafe myth.Yeah players are useless once they hit 30.
how many world class wide players are in their 30'sYeah players are useless once they hit 30.
29 is not the end of his prime, bloody hell.no but their arn't many 30+ wide attackers who are still prolific. just think its an awful lot of money to be committing to paying some one when the are near the end of their prime.
Yeah, but he hasn't got a proper contract and he's 29. If city put the money in then I still believe he'd go to them rather than us and that's not saying it's a bad deal for us it's just we all know he'd prefer to play for pep. City not backing down to ridiculous wages, agent fees etc. Surely cannot be deemed as pathetic. Should he really be paid more than the likes of De bruyne?! If there's potential that it could cause unrest then it's a risk not worth taking, especially with the position their In top of the league and all that.By pulling out 3 times and releasing silly statements.
Also the wages are to be viewed alongside getting a discounted transfer fee. Sanchez is with £100m if he had a proper contract.
it generally is for wingers29 is not the end of his prime, bloody hell.
I don't know how to put this politely, but you're talking crap.it generally is for wingers
Who else is getting near this kind of money? He's EASILY one of the best players in the league. I don't see a problem with this.
disagree, i guess we will see in a year or so.I don't know how to put this politely, but you're talking crap.
Sorry.
Go back to Football Manager.it generally is for wingers
Modric, Ronaldo, Suarez, Cavani, Ramos, Messi.how many world class wide players are in their 30's
He is barca boundAs somebody who always looks at the worst case, my worry is City have accepted this 'defeat' but will now go blow a ton on someone like Griezmann who I'd much rather have and would most likely be better
Real Madrid spent a world record fee on Zidane when he was 29. Age is but a number.yes but most of the contract is going to be while he is in his 30's
don't play football manger or fifa.Go back to Football Manager.
Ffs just be happy we can still sign the likes of Pogba and Sanchez no?As somebody who always looks at the worst case, my worry is City have accepted this 'defeat' but will now go blow a ton on someone like Griezmann who I'd much rather have and would most likely be better
So true. There’s always one.Always someone that has to shit on a transfer
His dogs will probably eat better than me!We're seriously giving Sanchez 350k?![]()
They will definitely pursue him but will likely fail because last I checked the Emptihad is in "rainy" Manchester and Greizmann clearly prefers staying Spain. He's going to Barca. As somebody who always looks at the worst case, my worry is City have accepted this 'defeat' but will now go blow a ton on someone like Griezmann who I'd much rather have and would most likely be better
Probably just the press briefing, not exactly an official statement. Is that an actual statement from city ? If So, is that the weirdest thing that's ever happened in football
OPEC at work.City and Chelsea might have the same PR team that briefs the media. The oil alliance and all that.
It's like being dumped and then say that you "withdrew" from the relationship.“Withdrawing” is just another way to save face. I reckon it’s already done.

If Sanchez was on a contract, you either pay 90M for him or you don’t get him at all. No matter what happens, we get a player much cheaper than what we would have if he had a normal contract. He is world-class and a match-winner, something we have lacked for many years.Who else is getting near this kind of money?
