Got subbed off. Oh well.He needs to turn it on second half. This is where he proves himself to Mourinho, when we need goals. Not when we're 2-0 up.

Unfortunately yes. Fell for the provocations of a more experienced player. It was good to see Young going to him after his second foul that might have already gotten him sent of and have a talking to him. That's the kinda stuff I wanna see from guys like him.Lost his head early, didin't recover it for the rest of the 1st half.
Unfortunately, yes. Great potential, but you don't see him play many great games in a row. Hot and coldHe's been fecking awful.
Doesn't get many games in a row tbhUnfortunately, yes. Great potential, but you don't see him play many great games in a row. Hot and cold
You can't blame him after that first half.Mourinho´s management of Martial is really mind boggeling, put Martial in the city side and we would be jealous as fuk
Why on earth would you not back a young talent like him up in a game like this?
Threat to get sent off, aye.Yeah he was crap. But to be fair who wasn't? At least he showed some semblance of threat, unlike Mata and Lingard.
Beat me to it.Threat to get sent off, aye.
Starting to think there might be a reason for that.Doesn't get many games in a row tbh
Is it? That's questionable since the point was he can't get 2 games on form - that's down to him not having 2 games aswell as him being young. Is rashford playing one game at a time for the same reason? Utter trash management of some good young players. This undying love for José over these players is questionable indeed.Starting to think there might be a reason for that.
Where did I defend Mourinho? Martial has been hot and cold for a while now. He needs to show more consistency. Is it? But why take off the player with arguably the highest potential, in a senario he is at his best? Having posession, controlling and attacking. You can't blame him after that first half.
He can't do that if he doesn't get consistent games. You won't pass your driving test if you change car every week and take a lesson every couple of months.Where did I defend Mourinho? Martial has been hot and cold for a while now. He needs to show more consistency.
Because he wasn't doing any of that today for whatever reason. He looked completely off his game. Potential doesn't win you football matches. I think him being on a yellow really pushed the decision to take him off.But why take off the player with arguably the highest potential, in a senario he is at his best? We were under 2-0 away from home. It´s not like Huddersfield is gonna keep attacking us, we were allways gonna have the most posession and the incentive to attack. Do you not agree?
Because he was shite and a tackle away from getting sent off. You can talk about potential all you like. But why take off the player with arguably the highest potential, in a senario he is at his best? Having posession, controlling and attacking.

Since when do you need to take off strikers or wide men when they are on a yellow?Because he was shite and a tackle away from getting sent off. You can talk about potential all you like.
Nah, he got pissed off 6 minutes in when the guy went in dangerously on him. I mean, shit like this happens, it's disappointing he lost his cool like that. Was the right decision to take him off by all accounts, he'd get sent off today.Got frustrated pretty badly at our inability to get him the ball in attacking areas but didn't expect him to start taking it out on their players. Poor composure.
He's usually the guy that makes the attempt to link up play in tight spaces. So not sure where you get off on the idea that he's only a dribbler.Unless Martial is able to constantly beat his man he's pretty useless and is never involved in games. He really needs to watch so tapes of Neymar, Messi, Mbappe and Hazard to see how one can make themselves useful if their dribbling isn't working. He's frustratingly one dimensional
That's a common occurrence. Interestingly enough, I feel like we don't exploit that enough tactically. If teams are double and tripling up on Martial then it stands to reason that other areas of the pitch must be exposed. Now, either Martial isn't looking for this or his teammates aren't positioning themselves to receive it. One thing I'm certain of is that when Martial is one on two/three, there ought to be Young with him and a central midfielder drawing close to offer options. This isn't happening. They knew from minute one how to deal with him. Ball to feet and double/triple up on him.

That's the problem with rotating him and Rashford. Threat comes from only one area. They wouldn't be able to double/triple up on two wingers. They knew from minute one how to deal with him. Ball to feet and double/triple up on him.
Exactly, but for some people everything is either black or white. That's the problem with rotating him and Rashford. Threat comes from only one area. They wouldn't be able to double/triple up on two wingers.
When they persist in making stupid fouls after being booked. Where they play is irrelevant.Since when do you need to take off strikers or wide men when they are on a yellow?
People are willing to just forget how football works to fit whatever agenda the have, usually in order to praise/criticise some player.Exactly, but for some people everything is either black or white.
