Well what are you doing on a discussion forum then?Who said we were going to discuss it? Haha.

They’re made multiple times per gameAny pass that involves passing it back to a keeper is wrong pass. WB was wide open on the right.
Yup. People love hating on the actual good players who are mainstays instead of focusing on the actual blatantly apparent weak spots.Anyone blaming him for that first goal needs to stop watching football as it isn't the sport for them.
Fred had previously made 2-3 bad passes, He started the game absolutely terrible, As a pro footballer never mind a captain this should be in your mind when you play that type of ball.Anyone blaming him for that first goal needs to stop watching football as it isn't the sport for them.
Spot on. Maguire should not have played that pass. End of.Fred had previously made 2-3 bad passes, He started the game absolutely terrible, As a pro footballer never mind a captain this should be in your mind when you play that type of ball.
The ball was given away so many times which led to Leicester chances, down the years I’ve watched a team nearly score against us from a mistake and as soon as the chances gone, the captain turns and screams at his team to wake up.
Maquire never did this once.
I blame Fred. But Maguire should not have played it to him (Fred).Anyone blaming him for that first goal needs to stop watching football as it isn't the sport for them.
I thought that initially but on seeing the replay fully expect that maguire thought fred would play the simple snappy pass out to Telles.Spot on. Maguire should not have played that pass. End of.
Nor should it.Has a player ever had the captaincy taken off them for performance reasons? Can't see it happening myself.
This cannot be emphasized enough. Maguire isn't supposed to predict Fred taking a shit touch and then making a blind back pass. The pass wasn't ideal for sure but no way he should be blamed for the goal. It's expecting him to predict the future basicallyAnyone blaming him for that first goal needs to stop watching football as it isn't the sport for them.
It's amazing. It's just a normal, simple pass to Fred who has a couple of clear options, the best being a one touch pass to Wan Bissaka or who's right back. Maguire has nothing whatsoever to do with the goal. This cannot be emphasized enough. Maguire isn't supposed to predict Fred taking a shit touch and then making a blind back pass. The pass wasn't ideal for sure but no way he should be blamed for the goal. It's expecting him to predict the future basically
Fred had 2 players breathing at his neck. He is not Zidane or Scholes. So why put him under more pressure? There were other better options to pass the ball to. Surely an 80m signing could see that?Maguire getting blamed for thinking his Manchester United team mate would have the talent or ability to deal with a p 2fv retty simple situation. SadCafe at its finest.
nonsense and those “it isn’t the sport for them” appeals doesn’t add validity to what you’re sayingAnyone blaming him for that first goal needs to stop watching football as it isn't the sport for them.
I blame both. Fred's pass was horrible but Maguire should have avoided that pass. Fred had two players breathing at his neck. He is not Zidane or Scholes who could pass a perfect pass under pressure. Why pass the ball to him when he had better options? Surely an 80m rated captain of Manchester United could come out with better optionsThis cannot be emphasized enough. Maguire isn't supposed to predict Fred taking a shit touch and then making a blind back pass. The pass wasn't ideal for sure but no way he should be blamed for the goal. It's expecting him to predict the future basically
We could blame him if Vardy had scored though, lucky.Anyone blaming him for that first goal needs to stop watching football as it isn't the sport for them.
No it wasn't a simple pass. He had players breathing at his neck. His back was turned so he didn't knew how close they were. It's amazing. It's just a normal, simple pass to Fred who has a couple of clear options, the best being a one touch pass to Wan Bissaka or who's right back. Maguire has nothing whatsoever to do with the goal.
Edit: Problem might be that Fred is a left footer and can't do the most obvious pass due to that
Not sure. I'm not an expert but to me, the way to beat the press would be to pass to Fred who then plays a first time ball staight to Wan Bissaka. That way, you've beaten the first line of the press.
Fred is a very average player. He is not the 80m captain of Manchester United.Like I said the pass wasn't ideal but what Fred did afterwards (the poor touch and the pass) was a disgrace.
BeinSports are dumb too then.nonsense and those “it isn’t the sport for them” appeals doesn’t add validity to what you’re saying
BeinSports did a good analysis on how bad a pass it was and the options he had available. What he chose to do was calamitous.
Teams do this kind of move all the time, central midfielders receive balls and make passes under this kind of pressure all the time. It's completely normal. Fred just has a horrible touch, then a bad decision and then a horrible execution of that decision. No it wasn't a simple pass. He had players breathing at his neck. His back was turned so he didn't knew how close they were.
Scholes would have dealt with it easily. Fred is not Scholes. A CB with a brain would anticipate this and avoid putting a team mate under such unnecessary pressure
Maguire's price isn't his fault. Makes no sense to keep repeating it over and over. With all the money spent and wasted over the years, I thought expecting a correlation between price and performance was gonna be a thing of the past.Fred is a very average player. He is not the 80m captain of Manchester United.
AWB was free on the right, if anything this is due to Fred's lack of awareness, it's not like he received a heavy pass or the ball was flying to him etc, he controlled the ball, panicked and did the only thing he shouldn't have done.
Successful team has teammates who cover for each other weakness. Fred was never a great passer of the ball. He had opponents at his back and Maguire had better options. He is the captain and a big name signing. It's already ridiculous that he lacks pace. He cannot afford lacking brains as wellTeams do this kind of move all the time, central midfielders receive balls and make passes under this kind of pressure all the time. Fred just has a horrible touch, then a horrible decision and then a horrible execution of that decision.
Yeah but again, he can hardly pass to AWB with his left foot. That seems to be at the root of this feck up, no? Anyone got an answer to that?AWB was free on the right, if anything this is due to Fred's lack of awareness, it's not like he received a heavy pass or the ball was flying to him etc, he controlled the ball, panicked and did the only thing he shouldn't have done.
No one is blaming him for that. However we got a very expensive CB with zero pace, poor leadership and quite frankly little brains. He either step up or we have to admit that we've been sold a dudMaguire's price isn't his fault. Makes no sense to keep repeating it over and over. With all the money spent and wasted over the years, I thought expecting a correlation between price and performance was gonna be a thing of the past.
He certainly seems confident sometimes to take a shot with his right foot, so I dont see why he couldnt pass with his right to AWB, overall a collective failure at the back but you would expect the players shielding the defense to do better than what he did there...Yeah but again, he can hardly pass to AWB with his left foot. That seems to be at the root of this feck up, no? Anyone got an answer to that?
What do you call a CB with no pace, no leadership and not enough IQ to acknowledge not to pass the ball to a midfielder with poor passing skills when he has two opponents that are breathing at his neck? Maybe the term average should not be used only on FredBloody hell. It’s the club’s problem that Fred is an average player, not Maguire’s. Maguire has to trust his teammates that they can receive a simple pass. He was hardly expecting him to score an overhead kick.
I'm asking generally. If you're doing build up, are being pressed, and the move to do is to receive the ball like Fred does and then pass it to the right full back, why isn't McTominay playing on the right side? Because quite clearly it can be seen Fred isn't comfortable enough to deal with the ball with his right foot.He certainly seems confident sometimes to take a shot with his right foot, so I dont see why he couldnt pass with his right to AWB, overall a collective failure at the back but you would expect the players shielding the defense to do better than what he did there...
