We don't need a total overhaul, sure we need to strength some key positions, right and left back and right wing. But generally we have a strong team, we have some great players and great youngsters, the problem is we just have the wrong manager. I'm afraid if we keep Mourinho until he runs out of contract we will keep getting the same boring games, all the team focused on defending and not making errors. Playing that way neither Sanchez, Martial, Pogba or Rashford will be able to prove their worth and it doesn't matter if you have Messi or Ronaldo if your main concern is to defend the talented players won't shine.
Just see the teams that have won the Champions League, all prefer the attacking tactics. Sure atletico and juve have reach finals but ultimately they end up losing and the attacking teams keep reaching the semifinals at least, while the defensive teams depend on the luck factor to get to the final stages.
We need to build a football philosophy that lasts beyond the manager that is currently managing the team, you see barcelona and it doesn't matter if the manager is Pep, Luis Enrique or Valverde you know the way they play. You see Madrid and it doesn't matter if the manager is Ancelotti or Zidane they will play attractive football. Or you see Juve and it doesn't matter if they are being managed by Conte or Allegri they will play defensive football. Why? because these teams have their style and their philosophy does not change by the manager in turn so all the focus and players they buy are to according to that philosophy.
Here in United we keep getting and cutting players because we lost that philosophy and we play according to our manager in turn, so we get and cut players according to the manager so when the manager is changed we need another overhaul to get the players the new manager wants. That's why we keep spending and spending and we don't get the results.
Manchester United should get a manager that has the same philosophy that this club used to have, attacking attractive football and keep building over that, if we sack the manager then we get another one with the same philosophy and we keep getting players that serve that philosophy. I don't think the main objective is to have a defensive philosophy so we should sack Mourinho and get a manager that can manage this team how our history demands.
