I have said this before, he is the most overrated player in the squad, if not in England.

Pogba was at fault for the goal, and Jones played Smalling into trouble for what ended up the dive.

Dives then let’s his man flick the ball for the goal. Plus he’s been awful all match. Just get shut.

He has a few "decent" games - and that is being generous, and all the pundits go mental and say he is the best thing since sliced bread. But deep deep down we all know that when up against proper quality opposition, or a team that can hustle like Newcastle, he is poor. We are in denial if we think he is good enough to play centre half for us in the long term.

Several teams
He's been very productive today.

1. Caused a blatant penalty, which the referee missed.
2. Cost Man Utd a leading goal
3. Dived after basically dispossessing himself due to his zero ball control, causing a free kick that resulted in Man Utd conceding a late goal.

The voice of reason among a sea of bullshit.

He still shouldnt have dived, but can we defend a set piece for once please? Smalling was the one person tracking his man, yes the player had a very nice flick but Smalling was goalside like he should be making sure it cant go towards goal. Maybe if anyone else was tracking players or if Pogba wasnt seemingly injured and could jump for the header (similar to when smalling was injured and couldnt do much earlier in the season) then we wouldnt have conceeded.

Until the likes of him and Jones leave the club then we cannot really expect much more. This is what they are.

Terminate his contract now. Would be the best business since Fergie.

He has been terrible all match.

The dive due to his complete lack off effort in trying to get to the ball ahead of his man was a particularly shiity topping to the already shitty performance to that point.

Needs to leave in the summer. Probably won’t and we’ll be forced to watch him concede goals every week.

Absolutely one of the worst players I've seen in a United shirt for a long time. How he starts a game will always be a mystery!

Jones did not play Smalling into trouble :/

He just couldn't control a simple pass.

Actually he did. He had some good footwork but then ruined it by diving trying to buy a freekick when he didnt need to. Had he not flung himself to the floor it was good play, so he messed up there

He’s a donkey. Shits himself every time he is on the ball & his decision making can be dreadful at key moments. Get rid in the summer.

He was cowardly there near the end. Not closing down Atsu in the box and staying with his man even though he would have been offside if he stepped up.

He is 28 years old already. Nothing to suggest he is gonna breakthrough into a defender we hope for let alone world class one. Other than defending an aerial ball, he is rubbish. Absolute rubbish player. Can't make a single pass without making that weird stance into his right foot, fecking weird player.
Watching him play today really made my blood boil.
Anyone who rates him should thanks to De Gea because without his save after save, Smalling would be a free agent without a club right now.

Its amazing our fans would rather try and scapegoat a single player rather than address the real issue of the team. We're the tallest team we've ever been, tallest team in the league and yet we cant defend set pieces and regularly conceed from them. Why did Mourinho want all these tall players again?

Is he shit? Yes
Should he play for us? No
Do we have other issues? Yes
Should we discuss the player in his fecking thread? Yes

We had the chances to win today. This wasn't even close to as bad as Spurs but still a shitty result.

Is Lindelof still alive? Surely he's a better option than Smalling (and Jones some weeks).
