Honestly, it is all speculation, but if the other 4 Glazers want to sell, I find hard how this sale can get blocked.
According to my back of a fag packet calcs, J&A control 33.4% of the votes and so (by a suspiciously exact 0.1%) can block the two thirds majority needed for major changes to the club. Someone else can check my maths but I have it as

That could be the reason why this is getting delayed. Where is Woody when we need him (he has some Shares B, I believe)?

He can't. Only Glazer family is allowed to own them.

Weird just how quiet this has gone
That really could be a good sign, huge NDAs plus if funds are being transferred and checked, this will take time and today is a bank holiday in US.

A Friend of mine whose high up with KPMG told me, just to pay the debt could take a week or two, dependent on whether new loans have been taking out and how the original debt was managed and refinanced. I think we find out one way or another this week and the Goblins might actually stay but then they will have to spend big as the fan base will go crazy at the thought of them not leaving.

I can't see them staying, no chance. They are broke and we would see riots never seen at a ground in England. It wouldn't just blow over this, fans pushed to the limit now. The distain we have for them is mutual. As previous posters said, hope we are the final stages before an announcement.

Ed Woodward own 0.05% of B shares too !
Didn't know that - they must have made an exception if it's true rather than rumour. In any case it's not enough to alter the maths.

Very interesting and confusing.

Everything is based on guesswork we have so little information even if we knew what we were talking about it is difficult to piece it all together.

I am sure that there must be some kind of agreement between the Glazer clan. Given the amount of money involved and the number of companies involved plus the fact that they already have trusts in their various names which hold shares it would be inconceivable that they didn’t have some sort of agreement between them that regulates their dealings. If the agreement is based on a simple majority that’s fine unless one of them decides they’re not happy and wants clarification through the courts and although they may lose this just adds to the time wasting.

Also, we know that they were trying to obtain some sort of external finance to enable four of the Glazers to sell their stakes, this also suggests that there is some difference of opinion on the way forward.

That said they probably want to retain some sort of family harmony and will give each other the chance to try and sort things out, but since this process started early last year, with the failed third-party investment search, it’s probably coming to a point where patience is now threadbare.

If there is an agreement then hopefully that will solve things and we may get an answer.

The problem with trying to resolve it through the company mechanism is that you need two thirds of the votes to get anything meaningful through. Here they have already decided to look at the options through their strategic plan. You would assume that the board would be the final arbitrator and decide the way forward.

Then the board’s decision will probably go to a vote of the shareholders and you would need two thirds, no doubt, to get this through due to the massive change it will make to the company.

Unbelievably even if you added all the Class A shareholders and the four fractionally better Glazers your still shy of the two thirds requirement by a small fraction of less than one, no doubt this has been deliberately maintained by Joel and Av to frustrate anything they do not like.

The only real solution, hopefully, appears through the potential Glazer's own agreement that operates to decides matters between them.
Good stuff mate. I know how I will make my kids vote on their 10 shares each I got them for Christmas whenever they went public. (even with the abhorrent ticker).

Can't they just use the online app for a settlement figure and then send it via HSBC online banking? Takes a day tops.

Why do you think they will care about that any more than they did before? I don't see much prospect of them staying but fan annoyance won't be why they go.

Nope not with sums these large it doesn’t plus it’s more to do with the debt and whose actually owed what, they need to clear the Club debt not the amortised transfer debt, but even club debt of £535m plus operating debt of another £190m or so who are the creditors, and who are there creditors of the creditors, United financials are without doubt a mess, the good news of its SJ he has the best of the best in place to sort these out quickly but I would say 3 or 4 working days from Friday I keep saying it’s either done and all hush hush or it’s not getting done anytime soon?

This has went extremely quiet now. You’re not even getting the made up bullshit on Twitter anymore or the same old rehashed bollocks from the media. It seems everyone is tired of this shit.
Yeah last we heard was Lawton doubling down on his stance about Ratcliffe

I know the YouTube 'fan channels' aren't too popular on here but Stretford Paddock are currently interviewing the guy who penned the Athletic article about Sheikh Jassim.

Stretford Paddock is probably the best of the lot. Relatively speaking, they're like a broadsheet newspaper compared to most of the others as tabloids. The Athletic is the Financial Times. Mark Goldbridge is a trashy gossip mag for hormonal teenage girls.
