City being taken over has benefited not only City, but also the local area and economy. As already pointed out by another poster.
If you have pure leeches like the glazers that’s not good. But also if you have pure fans that might not also be good. The best thing might be people who grow to love the club. Remember most of our legend players and managers didn’t join loving the club, exceptions exist due to our academy. So the same can be true for owners, as long as they have the money and intention to succeed.

I think the partial sale or full sale has already been agreed behind the scenes and they are simply waiting for the end of the financial year for it to be confirmed and official.

Partial sale will feel like we aren't gaining much

Don't want to wish any ill on Lockhurst. He is just a reporter, not an asshole billionaire, and probably earns his bread with his job, but I admit he can be annoying AF I have a hunch we won’t be rid of the vermin just yet. All the higher ups at the club have been stating how much they are planning for the future and future windows etc.

A company I worked for got bought for $5bn. We knew it was happening but not the exact dates. When it got finalised, we just got am email to say the company was now sold.
The transition was so smooth, no one noticed. It's only after they got their feet under the table were there some changes.
Moral of the story, nothing will change until at least the purchase has been complete. The club will run as usual. Glazers are still in charge. It's still their club. So they will carry on until things change.
With the news that the Super League is expecting to start in 2025 its just 2 years more for the Glazers to hang on for the big big payday.

I feel we can count the Saudis out from buying us. Not because of the WWE deal, just that we've heard nothing concrete at all since their sports minister spoke about a month back.
If I were them, I'd just buy United and sell Newcastle.
They're so early in that Newcastle process, they haven't made any huge changes or made significant signings yet. They bought the club fairly cheap and would at least get their money back. Consider it a dummy run
United is a one-off opportunity. They clearly want to own and be invested in the absolute top companies. There isn't a football club around that can be bought who is as popular or as huge as United. It's a different level to Newcastle completely.

I theory, yes this may sound good. However, it wouldn't reflect very well on the Saudis if they did. You can't be taken seriously if you will drop one club for another one and not seeing your vision through.
You don't stop with your job because your company may be sold. Have never ever seen this happen in any acquisitions in IT at least.
What can happen is for United to be bought by a consortium of Saudi 'private investors' who are basically bankrolled by the royal fund. Both clubs (United and Newcastle) will be allowed to grow concurrently with the former getting more investment up until the time is ripe for Newcastle to be sold. Then the Saudi royal family would buy United.

Yeah, they could do. I mean, if they really want United, they will find a way. I'm just not too sure of their appetite to jump through hoops to get us, especially as they are investing quite a lot in other sports/entertainment, such as the WWE.

We’re still the golden egg in football. I’ve no worries about who will buy us in terms of their riches. They will be honking of money.
Another way they can play around it is for them to buy a minority stake within the club but with the clear (written and legal) statement of buying more in the future. Thus United will be theirs in lets say a decade time which would give them time to raise Newcastle's value and to sell it off.
