I would like to bang Margot Robbie and my ideal scenario is if Emily Ratajkowski joins us for a three-way.
Just googled her as I’d never heard of her. She looks like she’s made of latex.

Though I believe some people might enjoy that sort of thing :)

I'll admit that I haven't seen her in a few years so you might very well be right that she's not my cup of tea anymore! In that case I'll amend my post to say that the ideal scenario is the version before she apparently botoxed the shit out of her face!

I know but lets be honest, we are far off what City are at the moment. They are in CL semi final easily beating teams in the CL group stages against whom we struggled to beat.

Sometimes, it looks better than it is.
We literally beat Barcelona who are looking like the best in Europe again.

Needs to completely revamp the spine of the team. New CF, new starting CM next to case, another top quality deep CM options for squad depth/allow eriksen to be a super sub/specialist depending on situations. Grab a new starting-ish CB quality since varane is just a walking injury and martinez coming off a decently serious injury. Roll 4 Cbs with the new signing adding to Lindelof and those two. Then swap in a new goalkeeper. Do that and we should be set for next season without it having to be a super unrealistic window "wishlist" where some people call for 10 going out and 10 coming in or something.

Fair enough. I’ll have to do more googling

A more realistic prospect than EtH's hope. He's got another frustrating summer ahead of him where the current people at the club prove they're not up to it and get binned by the new owners.

Or they prove us wrong and pigs fly.

I wish him luck. Even before Woodward, we weren't known to get transfer done swiftly before pre season. Last two window post Wooward doesn't look like anything had changed.

yeah CF and CM 100 percent need a new high quality starter brought in, then at least 3-4 new squad players to help the quality depth.
Yep, I think my perfect summer would be GK, CB, CM, ST

We could do with another CM as well though, then we have 2 players in each position, with very good quality.

I’m very much prepared for a painful and frustrating summer, unless Qatar get their mitts on us in the next few weeks, otherwise it’s another Glazer shit fest summer.

Yep the sale won’t go through in time for the summer window it looks like. City and co will have hoovered up the available quality you’d think.

Going by form City and others already have their players moving out and ones moving in verbally agreed. We are different and unless there are top targets bought and moved in before pre season then i see no change to previous debacle in the windows. The possible sale had given me hope but its dwindling. If this isn't a major successful window for Ten Hag after the winter ( no Money) then further down the road I could see his head turned and tempted elsewhere.

These other clubs are not up for sale and we do not entirely know the budget and what any new owners will do when they come in. What if they decide to get rid of everybody. It would be madness, but could happen. If we lose ETH because they are more bothered about lining their own pockets than the clubs fortunes, then they should all be fired out of a cannon.

Top of La Liga now means "the best in Europe" ?
I'm really not sure what point you are trying to prove here? That Barca are shit and therefore our win against them doesn't count?

Certainly at the time they were viewed as the form team in Europe - and even now they are 11 points and a game in hand above Real - who are the current European Champions.

Realistically, who's is better than them? Man City, Bayern, Napoli? The latter two have fallen off themselves.
You just listed 3 teams?

Barcelona crashed out of CL group and had to play in Europe League, but they are better than teams that competed in CL QFs and Semi finals? Is this for real?

Do you hear yourself?

OK, but are they top? Haaland and De Bruyne could drown in a freak canoeing accident tomorrow who knows. Do you just want to give them the trophy now? Might as well chuck in the FA Cup too - doesn't seem much point in even trying...
That's not a response. It's a matter of time before they go to the top. Look at the table.

Apparently a team who is close to win the treble, 2 points away from the top with 2 games in hand, in the cup final and CL semi final, isn't better than a team who crashed out of CL group and had to play in EL and crashed out of their domestic cup by a 4-0 loss to their rivals because they are just top of their league.

Even Barcelona fans aren't that delusional.

Bring a single post of mine who said that.

Next time try to stick to the point we are talking about instead of inventing things out of your mind.

I'm talking about the claim of them being the best in Europe which anyone follows football knows it's not true. They topped the league but they have been shit in every other competition this year. Just because they are top of their domestic league doesn't make them "best in Europe" when they couldn't even get out of CL group!

They are good, but claiming they are the best in Europe is as bad as saying they are dogshit. Both are hyperbole said for specific purpose.

They are a team in a rebuilding phase just like us. Starting to improve after several years of being shit.

Dude, you can only go on how things stand now - and currently they are 2nd in the league. Real could easily beat them in the CL and in a one-off game there's no reason why we can't beat them in the FA Cup final. In any case - the poster's point still stands anyway, we beat ONE OF THE top sides in Europe...the argument about who ACTUALLY was the top side in Europe at the time we played them is entirely subjective, impossible to prove either way, and therefore pretty pointless. Question is, why are you wasting so much energy on negativity when things are going pretty fecking well??

Things stand now, one of them is in CL semi final, final of their domestic cup and 2nd in the league with 2 games in hand. The other team is top of their league and crashed out of CL group and out of their domestic cup with a 4-0 defeat to their rivals.

Obvious who is better.

So to not be negative, I have to be delusional and say we beat "the best team in Europe"?

You realize being positive is different from being delusional, right?

Can you name the teams that are unequivocally better than them? Because the truth is, aside from City, no one else looks the part.

So given that we have a game in hand on Newcastle and are level on points with them I assume you think we will definitely finish third? And given that we have won one trophy, reached the QFs of another and are in the final of the FA Cup you must be pretty overjoyed at what ETH has achieved in less than a season right?

Why are you, persistently ignoring the fact that there're 2 other freaking competitions in the season, including the top tier European competition in which City is in its semi final while Barcelona couldn't even get out of their group ? Because it ruins your point ?

I'm content with what we did this season. It has been a good year and Ten Hag has done well.

Also this has nothing to do with me being delusional.

Realize there's difference between being positive and being delusional.

I don't have to say we defeated "the best team in Europe" to be positive.

They are (most of them anyway, there might be exceptions, like players who signed the summer after we had failed to qualify, and thus had no part in it, like Casemiro), but Sancho signed when we had qualified for the CL the season before. I'm not sure if the CL qualification counts as a bonus here. I think it's reasonable to assume he got basic wage of £250k + (other) bonuses, and that he'd get a 25% reduction on that basic wage if we didn't qualify for the CL (which we didn't in his first season).

The £350k number just seems inflated compared to our other players. But it was on Woody's watch so who knows.
One thing I will not argue is that Woodwards was handing crazy contracts, but it's very unbelievable Sancho's first contract with United is higher than what players like Rashford and Martial are getting, they were at the time far more established and older than him, even though he was sighed for £73M, doesn't mean he gets a contract in parity with highest paid players at the time like De Gea or Pogba and he is paid as much as Casemiro (who's rumoured to be paid closer to what De Gea is getting) and even with add-ons and bonuses he wouldn't be close to the figures DDG is getting, I saw the Athletics report and I don't remember it had mentioned his salary.

Woodward handed crazy contracts that's for sure but he wouldn't be able to make a new comer like Sancho at the time earn more than Bruno, Rashford or Martial.

Mate, you are the one taking all of this out of context and getting antsy. For a start it wasn't my point anyway, but @Di Maria's angel was responding to a poster who wrote about City: "They are in CL semi final easily beating teams in the CL group stages against whom we struggled to beat" - he/she/they was just pointing out that we had also beaten a very good team in Europe: "We literally beat Barcelona who are looking like the best in Europe again." Yes that point is up for debate, but it's not such a controversial statement that I imagined UNITED fans would be so indignant about it. If one team wins La Liga comfortably then they are always going to be in the mix for being the best side in Europe. How often we do say "the league is what counts, cups are just a bonus'? That's because the best indicator of form is the league table, anything can happen in cup competition...City, for example, have never won the CL.

Why are you spending so much time arguing about such a tiny point, with such a negative and dismissive tone??
