He was pretty average for Leicester too. And Fulham. Good to see he’s turned it around now, but he looked pretty uneventful from his time in the PL
Nah he stood out clearly when he played for Fulham, I watched a lot of their games. Him, Anguissa and Robinson. Very good last season at Atlanta.

They've just been genuinely outplayed though, there is no "overthinking" causing them to lose here, starting with a striker wouldn't have changed much.

But yeah, hope he learns from the experience.
What is there actually to learn? Leverkusen don't reach their highest level when Wirtz isn't fully fit. That's what we have seen today and that's not news.

Only if Atalanta finish 5th in the league (in that case La Dea don't need the additional UCL spot given from UEFA because they'd qualify to the next UCL group stage as UEL winner.. that additional spot so goes to 6th placed Roma).
Still not so easy Atalanta end up 5th eh, if they win their game in hand they'd be 3rd so they must to bend over in the next Serie A games to help Roma
Their remaining games are both at home against Torino and Fiorentina so it is highly likely they'll get top 4

Well done Atalanta. The closest manager to SAF was hiding in Bergamo all along.

I dunno much about that Ederson lad but if this is how he plays every week, sign him up.

So so happy for Lookman, forgetting the disappointment of AFCON

Gasperini is a brilliant manager. Absolutely did a number on both Klopp and Alonso in the competition. Why was he never linked to bigger jobs?

I was going to put money on Leverkusen.

I think it was 4/9.
I thought it would be easy money.

Serie A seems to be on an upswing at the moment.

Failed at Inter. Been loosely linked to Napoli recently though but I doubt that happens

Haven't seen very much at all of Leverkusen this season. Either it was a very bad off day or how did this team go unbeaten all season, looked very ordinary.
They are usually better than this or is it coming up against a well organised Italian side that just didn't give them a minutes peace.

Happy for Atalanta. They have been doing well for years and have lost like three Coppa finals in the last 6-7 years. They deserve it.

Ederson's been defensively excellent but he's been a bit dodgy on the ball
Well yes, that's the player he is. A bit like Allan

They may get outplayed anyways, but his lineup in the first half essentially surrendered the game to Atalanta

From a neutral point of view, pity the game was so one-sided. Atalanta won at a canter.

Wonder if Leverkusen underestimated them and thought they only had to show up

 that was not a canter, that was absolute blood and thunder from them. They will be shattered!

They're probably in league mode, and forgetting what a cup final is.
