I've said, which is that economically I'm left wing. I didn't think there were two interpretations of this so didn't feel the need to expand upon it. For good measure: I'm from a working class family, my grandparents worked in factories, and their parents, and before that I have no idea but I presume for centuries or millenia even my ancestors were rural workers, tradesmen, manufacturers etc, I imagine many were at some point probably drafted to fight in a pointless war so that their overlords could expand their territory, many probably died young due to horrendous working conditions, most probably had little more than a pot to piss in whilst others sat on a toilet made of gold. My parents were boomers and had the luxury of attending university and earning a half decent wage as civil servants, by which I mean they worked their asses off for 40+ years in order to live in a slightly bigger home and go abroad once a year. I think that excessive wealth is vulgar and the entire financial system is insanity. There's trillions of debt, trillions unspent in bank accounts of rich people, people making money from money by moving numbers around, or by simply owning property and renting it out at an extortionate rate. The vast majority of people are exploited financially. Its sickening how much we are bombarded with advertising in order to drain us of our money, cartoon characters and puppets used to make companies seem friendly and caring, whilst the shareholders and owners make a killing. I hate the tax rates, I don't understand how 150k is the highest tax bracket when there are people who make 100x that, tax the feckers infinitely more, nobody needs that much money whilst essential services are having to scrape by. I hate how the rich find tax loopholes, I hate how big companies find tax loopholes, I hate how it's all a big networking club and politicians and big business work arm in arm, making deals that favour their old school chums. I hate how many people have to work their balls off to have a meagre amount of disposable income. I hate how working class people are priced out of taking legal action due to the extortionate costs, I hate how working class people are preyed upon by gambling companies and loans companies and credit card companies who profit on the dream of wealth, or the fear of not paying the bills. I hate how capitalism's drive for efficiency creates an enormous amount of pressure on front line workers - sales targets, call targets, the "how did your advisor do today" surveys you get bombarded with, and knowing if I give a bad score the poor guy or girl will get a grilling or lose their miniscule bonus, I hate how if you're rich you can send your kids to a special school where they hang out with other rich kids and development a sense of entitlement that permanently destroys their sense of connection to the rest of society, I hate how despite all of society's technological advances the majority of people have to work 40 hours a week, with little extra to show for it.I find it interesting that in that entire post you haven't said one reason for being left wing. You've said you are, but none of your reasoning or statements suggest you are.
I don't think you need to be forced to be anything, I've never fitted into a convention politically but know I value worldwide human rights above everything else, and state owned enterprises can be no-brainers like the NHS but still appreciate that capitalism has increased innovation and without it it can stagnate (see NASA). That probably doesn't fit a left or right viewpoint but so what?

I hate how the best and brightest are tempted away from careers where they can help people, in order to make a bit more money for themselves, by making a shit load more money for some rich cnuts. I hate how the best psychologists use their expertise to entice people to buy a product, I hate how the best engineers are used to design a car that goes slightly faster than the previous car they made and costs twice as much, I hate how the best technicians design some gadget that is slightly smaller than the last gadget they designed, is twice as expensive and will break after two years, I hate how consumer culture makes people feel compelled to buy the latest shit or wear the coolest clothes or drink the fanciest beer or attend the coolest festivals or have the most gourmet cheese delivered to their door once a month, I hate how the best nurses get burnt out and either go into teaching or research, or middle management for some pointless company, or they just endure the job and can barely even pretend to give a shit anymore, I hate how entire industries like retail, customer service and social care pay so little that staff turn around is enormous, meaning a workforce that is young and inexperienced and out of their depth, I hate the customer-is-always-right culture which leads to people treating staff members like a piece of shit in order to pressure them for a discount or special treatment, I hate how essential public services are sold off to private business for sod all, I hate how privatisation of certain sectors just leads to monopolies, or companies spending more and more money on acquiring new business from their competitors, or skimping on running costs, rather than actually providing a service that is functional and fair, I hate how insurance is a giant fecking racket to take as much money from people as possible whilst paying out as little as possible when it's needed, whilst they make themselves a shit load of money, I hate the notion that people are lazy and greedy and are incapable of working hard and efficiently without the incentive of money being used as a giant dangling carrot in front of their face, I hate how the right wing overlook the fact that hanging a giant dangling carrot of money in front of people's faces leads to morals and ethics being front out of the window, I hate how companies will cut costs or outright cheat on health and safety measures, I hate how the right wing media mocked Ed Miliband for daring to suggest that people who inherit a million pound home should probably pay some inheritance tax, I hate how right wing people talk about the NHS, teachers, civil servants etc, I hate how wealthy people think their success is purely of their own making, not luck, genetics or upbringing, I hate how wealthy people and celebrities are lauded, I hate how if you're rich and famous, companies give you shit loads of money to do a one hour photo shoot to convince regular people to buy a product from said company, I hate how if you're poor and sick then you have to rely on a health service that is stretched to capacity. I hate how I'm typing this in my dinky two bed new build flat that most of my wage packet goes towards the mortgage of, and the walls are so thin I can hear my neighbours TV.
Goes without saying really. That's pretty much what I consider to be left wing. Pronouns, offensive jokes, people's life choices on what to do with their genitals, whatever else, not important. Who cares. Don't give a shit. It's the middle and upper class attempting to take ownership of the left wing, and repurposing it for their own trivial pet projects.

I didn't say that, the person I quoted said that.OK, I didn't expect that
You definitely have left wing beliefs. Looking back through your comments about you changing your mind you said "I find some of the extinction rebellion stuff annoying when i'm trying to walk through town and they've shut a road down playing music and smoking weed, but it doesn't make me agree with the climate change isn't a problem brigade"
You're never going to fit into in ideal political sentiment which is designed for you which was my point earlier. Your core beliefs are obviously left from what you have said and the fact you don't subscribe to every person and every view of what can be perceived as the left doesn't really matter. If you don't like extinction rebellion as a movement, fair enough that's your choice but is nothing to do with your politics.
Apologies for the formatting, I still cant get spoilers to work. But i'm essentially replying to both your larger posts since I first quoted you. Frankly, it would take days to reply and unpack everything you have said in detail, and I don't mean that condescendingly, i'm in a good mood and I'm interested in engaging properly with you because you seem amenable to some sense, and you are still reachable if your on the fence.I consider myself left wing
I wish that cnut would just disappear into the shitpond he crawled from, I can't stand his hypocritical 'I'm white northern working class and I hate identity politics' shite.GB News is such a genuine choice that they cancelled one of their own staff. How are you meant to debate with someone so deluded?
Nobody has to align themselves to anything. When it comes to voting time, read the manifestos, engage and debate with activists, potential MP's etc (if you really want to put yourself through it) and stick a cross in the box of the party/person that most closely matches your ideologies at that time or if noone gets close enough to your ideologies than you do a protest vote.Apologies for the formatting, I still cant get spoilers to work. From what i took from what you wrote it comes across as that you have quite a nebulous assortment of emotions, experiences and ideas that I'm not sure you have unpacked to their core ideas beyond a surface level. That's not to say you don't know what your talking about or your view of reality is necessarily wrong, its that you don't have a rock solid foundation of what you fundamentally believe in? I would be interested to see where you end up on a decent online political spectrum test, then following that perhaps do some brief philosophy 101 research regarding the ideologies you seem to subscribe to. There's some genuinely good unbiased stuff on YouTube as long as you stick to the actual concepts and not directly from channels propagating a particular stance.
Don't fall into the trap of buying into the divisive online shit, its not representative of ideas in the real world(although it is representative of general human stupidity). For example, you can be left leaning economically but largely socially conservative and you don't have to agree with every particular stance of the "side" you align with. However you do somewhat need to align to what you believe in, being "in the center" isn't some enlightened position, its a side in and of itself with its own ideological can of worms it needs to own. Unless you want to live in the woods, you do have a vote and it counts and its important you understand what your giving power to.

Exactly. They must realise how that comes across. What the feck.“We do not have a company line on taking the knee.”

I think we are largely on the same page. It is possible to avoid the divisive, polarized politics, I just I think it's easier said than done. I understand how people fall into it, and fear that if the right are the only 'side' to question certain issues they will attract more people to the right and away from the genuine left.Apologies for the formatting, I still cant get spoilers to work. You'd imagine so but there's plenty of rich folk who want to keep being rich, and the best way to do that is to make a proportion of the populace even dumber than they already are and create a bunch of dogwhistles that will distract them from realising they're been fecked over by a system that puts them in the dirt whilst others drink champagne frappes*.Surely their funding will dry up eventually if their ratings remain so low?
I'm completely in Popper's corner on this one. There will come a time when GB News will be the most popular news channel in the land. If you let evil fester then it will ultimately spread and cover everything.
