If he were in City's academy they'd terminate his contract due to being shite. At our club we give him £100k and stick him in the first team

Played well, got a significant bumped contract, back to his usual standard since then.

The story of our club.

Even when he’s through on goal you’d know this coward will be caught up or pray for a pen.

Him, Rashford and Welbeck are those in recent memory, that has been given too much time to make even the dumbest fans of this club realise how terrible players they are.

This is probably second season running that our club count on him as pretty much our first option for the right side, and it's his worst position by mile. I generally think he can be good squad player, but he should never be a starter on the right wing. Did he actually ever play well there?

I think he's perfectly fine as an impact player with a bit of energy but starting him is just odd. Offered nothing today.

New low for him. I didn't know that it is possible but he did it. And he doesn't even run around anymore. Why he starts week after week? How he ended up with new contract? Division one player.
4 more years of watching Lingard in our shirt....:(:(

People wonder why we are struggling just need to look at Lingard, an average player that wouldn't make any of the other top 6's teams and he is starting for us.

I bet he even had a new celebration planned for this game. Feel sorry for the guy, City should have at least let him show the world what he works on in training.

These players that have a huge social media presence and post ridiculous pictures, like they’re some world class talent, when they are actually crap. These are by far the most infuriating of all the current crop.

Such a pointless player especially out wide, i don't think his defensive output is that great either so I find it hard to understand how he's been consistently selected ahead of others, surely Sanchez / Rashford out wide is a better option?

The number of times he gave the ball needlessley away once we finally got it back after long streches of defending against both Shitty and Juventus makes we wonder if he actually has any brain capacity as a footballer. A nothing player.

He won't be getting a second date after that performance.

He is such a weak player, isn't he? He gets shrugged off the ball easily. And the way he presses is embarrassing, he rarely ever gets more than a touch on the ball and then he doesn't bother himself for more than that.

Another negative in his overall game that's supposed to be one of his strengths, and why I don't see the reasons someone like Mourinho insist on playing him.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
He had that insane run around January/Feb, signed a new contract and trun to his usual self.
To be fair his good period of form happened to be the only period of matches he's had for us as a #10. His form then dropped off the instant we started playing a 433 and he was pushed further back into a three man midfield, and then nose-dived entirely when he was moved back out to the right.

If we were going to continue playing 4231 he'd have a decent shot at claiming that spot again. Unfortunately for him we don't normally use a #10 anymore, and as such he simply doesn't provide enough anywhere else.

To be fair Shaw's gone a bit shit ever since the extension too.

There's a fecking trend isn't there.
It's our problem. We don't even give the players a reason to fight for it. 4 or 5 games are more than enough for a new contract and a massive pay rise. Why would the players put any effort after this easy salary ?

We're the worst run big club around.

Warsaw...that's too far away from Edinburgh...

Copy / paste from a Mata thread. We dont have a right winger but we do have some decent #10 options
