Top 5 is all that will be needed next year for Liverpool/Spurs/Chelsea to get back into the Champions League.

That's a bit of a simplistic way to look at it. First, Salah has just matched his goal output from the two previous seasons, and he's done better than 18/19 and 19/20. Second, Firmino was also a 1 goal in 3 player for Liverpool, but did a lot more than that - Gakpo could be similar. Third, Gakpo and Nunez numbers are a bit skewed by only being measured in a crap season for Liverpool.

Gakpo is putting up similar numbers to what he did in Holland.

Diaz is doing the same thing he has done all his career. 1 goal every 4 games. At 26.5 years old he is hardly likely to improve that dramatically.

Nunez has been dropped a lot the last few months. He has been a terrible signing.

Salah is still a force no doubt. Without him they would in big trouble. But how long more will he be able to keep up the high numbers? Its rare for a wide forward to be able to keep it going in their 30s in the PL.

Professional athletes aren't knackered after a long summer holiday of rest. It's more likely they mentally weren't up for the fight after such a disappointing end to the season

Unfortunately for him liverpool have a weak spine. With those forwards they’ll always score plenty goals. It’s not just midfield, it’s his defence that need serious work. When United won the treble in an era of great clubs across Europe, strong teams in England and hard routes to fa and champions league finals, the following 2 years we won the league.

Tiredness is an excuse. The biggest problems are your midfield, Mane being replaced with a striker that misses sitters, a RB that's been exposed all season, VVD losing a yard and Klopps inability to adapt to the situation throughout the majority of the season.

Allison and Salah, your 2 genuine world class players is the only reason your 5th rather than next to Chelsea.

If you think 2 or 3 new players is all it takes I think your fooling yourself.

There won't be a lot of spare cash floating around for them to spend £200m plus unless there's a major player leaving for big money.
