Worst Madrid league line-up in a few years. It'll still be too strong for Eibar though.

What an escape for Eibar! Isco's shot hits both posts and gets tapped in by Cicharito, but rightfully disallowed for offside.

This is not even a contest. Are eibar that bad or Madrid that good?
They started off fine, exceeding everyone's expectations, but in the last few months they've been brought back to their real level on a run of 9 defeats in 11 games (let's remember this is a side that has won promotion twice in succession! so they went from regulars in the 3rd tier of Spanish football to their 1st top flight campaign ever in the space of two seasons)

Weren´t they in front of Sociedad and Athletic at a point during the season?

Wow, I didn't know that. That's really impressive, especially if they manage to stay up.
Yup, much was made of their finances before the season started... one of the lowest budgets of all teams in Primera ánd Segunda. They didn't even have enough capital at first to be in in accordance with league regs. They reached the target by selling shares to the public online.

Yeah, although that also owes much to those teams' poor starts to the season as well. Eibar pulled off some surprises for sure though in the 1st half of the season -- they were playing quite well.

and this was a GK blunder basically.

On the other hand, impressive,

I don't know why we appealed the yellow for Ronaldo. Now he will end up missing a much more difficult game where we'll need him more surely?

But an easier game to score goals in which is what matters.

Good save low down from Irureta on Cristiano. Eibar have 2-3 guys on Marcelo every time and still he gets the ball into the forwards. Such a great dribbler he is.
