Correa shoots set up by Griezmann but a good save from the keeper.

La Liga so far ahead of the rest right now.

Villareal, Celta pass it around like no other side in the world bar Bayern and maybe PSG.

Cristiano Ronaldo on one of his rare off days, could have scored 5 goals, ended up with none. Must have been served a bad dish by a certain waiter!

Deportivo 3-0 Espanyol. I only saw the highlights, but it looked like Deportivo deserved the win and the scoreline. That puts them in 6th place on 11 points.

Valencia, Espanyol and Eibar are following them on 9.

Nolito has 5 goals + 3 assists in 6 games already. Last season he got 13 goals + 13 assists and created 95 chances, more than anyone in La Liga.

In a scenario where Catalonia actually do manage to secede in the near future, what will happen to Espanyol and Barcelona? Will they fight to stay in La Liga?

They probably can but they won't be allowed to according to the LFP president.

Yesterday the pro independence group lost the elections in Cataluña.I would love to see the face of Guardiola in that moment. They got more seats in Parliament but only got 47%of votes.Their main goal was to get more than 50% to sell the elections as a referendum. Now Junts pel si,that was already a difficult coalition will need the support of CUP,a extreme left pro independence group to form a government.I think that now the issue of Barsa leaving la liga will cool down for a while.
On the other hand,Lucas Pérez got a big ovation in Riazor.I'd like to see him with Aduriz in national team for some friendly.
What do you think about Jackson Martínez?,already candidate to flop of the year

Really? Didn't think he looked that bad the times I've seen him at Atletico.
In Cope a couple of days ago talked quite bad about him, especially for the attitude.Atletico is used to get good results buying strikers and for the price he will be compared to Falcao or Agüero.

I wouldn't go that far. Simeone is taking his time to integrate the new players. Jackson is barely averaging 40 minutes a game. Vietto has played even less while Carrasco and Savic have barely even played. Its the same story with all the new boys. Too early to say atm.

 ffs carvajal, the week before we play them... that seems like really tempting fate to me.

Prepare your anus for the Jackson Martinez show at the Vicente Calderón this weekend. :(

La Liga this weekend, the Madrid derby is just the pick up the bunch - there are some interesting games coming up.

Friday (From the BBC so all times are UK)
Celta de Vigo V Getafe 19:30

Saturday 3rd October 2015
Sevilla V Barcelona 15:00
Granada CF V Deportivo de La Coruña 17:15
Espanyol V Sporting de Gijón 19:30
Las Palmas V Eibar 21:00
Málaga V Real Sociedad 21:05

Sunday 4th October 2015
Rayo Vallecano V Real Betis 11:00
Ath Bilbao V Valencia 15:00
Levante V Villarreal 17:15
Atl Madrid V Real Madrid 19:30

Sevilla's form so far this season has been horrible but they aren't/shouldn't be this bad. Barca will be without Messi (until mid/late November) and Iniesta (mid November) and aren't looking so convincing at the back right now. Will Sevilla make a game of it? Stranger things have happened.

Athletic are struggling, but Valencia are misfiring so that one is anyone's guess.

Before Simeone, even ItsEssexRob couldn't have stopped Real Madrid winning the Madrid derby. These days, Real Madrid will be pleased to get anything at the Calderon. Atletico still aren't quite there with their new 433. Koke may be ready to play a part. Atletico lost 1-2 to Benfica miid-week, and 1-0 away at Villareal last weekend. Real Madrid should have Bale and Ramos available, but James remains a doubt.

Real Madrid had a party todayto celebrate Ronaldp becoming their all-time top scorer. Very little dancing and hardly anyone got drunk - hardly a party at all really. Which is probably a good thing with the match on Sunday.

Coming up:
Sergio Rico; Tremoulinas, Kolo, Andreolli, Coke; Zonzi, Krychowiak, Iborra, Krohn-Dehli, Vitolo y Gameiro
Vs
Bravo; Jordi Alba, Mathieu, Piqué, Sergi Roberto; Mascherano, Busquets, Rakitic; Neymar, Suárez y Munir

When you look at the teamsheets, even with Barca's absentees, the result still looks like a formality. Particularly given the fact that Sevilla themselves have 7 players injured. Of course, fortunately, football isn't always quite that straightforward.

Hope it's a good game but that Sevilla line up is pretty unimpressive.

Barca haven't impressed me at all this season. They are having to fight very hard for points. Can easily see a draw. Hope they win and Atletico do Madrid.
