Good for Atletico. They need some confidence so that they can take 1 point off Real next round.

Atletico forum would run riot. Real is as vulnerable as it gets, and Atletico needs 3 points. Oh wait, Spanish football, not English football.

Most off-topic comment ever, but that simley reminds me of T1000's no-no sign when Sarah Connor ran out of bulets in the end. Creepy as hell.

Off topic to you, but many would understand.

Madrid clubs hold each other back is good result for Barcelona, not as good for both of them individually. They both need 3 points, but do they have the gut for it?

Madrid will go for the win. Last year they won 3-0, no way they'll settle for any less than a win. Atletico will play like they always play, compact in defense, and looking to exploit the gaps in Madrid's defense, and boy are there gaps there.

For me, the game will show if Madrid suffer from lack of focus and concentration, or we're talking about a clear drop in the quality of football they play even when fully motivated.

I agree with you and understand your point well.

Without spelling it all out before, my initial point is regarding English media disregarding the context of game. If Atletico is in PL and is same position on the table, English media would have a field day when Atletico does what they does/needs to do against Real, as Atletico needs 3 points as much as Real.

If Las Palmas has any sense they will set themselves up like Spurs & Girona, & make Real Madrid play offensively, & hopefully catch them on the break.

The usual problem that both n'Zonzi and Pizarro fancy to play as sole #6 and not as double pivot. Way too much space between the back4 and those two. They are all over the place.

Wonderful start for Barca. Suarez is looking much better and is going to have minor surgery during the international break on his knee for a cyst.

Semedo was such a massive signing, have a proper RB as oppose to none last year has made such a huge difference.

Can't wait for Dembele to return, he could really help out on the wing.

Messi looks more lazy than ever. Lacks hunger, aggression and determination. He is just walking the entire match and puts no pressure whatsoever.
He doesn't need to. They aren't resting him in any games and there's the WC at the end of the season so this energy management will only do him good

He's not lazy, you either sub him out/sit him in the bench to manage his condition and afford the luxury of field a starting 11 without Messi, or you let him "do his thing" and pace himself to be up for the moments of the game he knows he needs to show up in order to win.

It has been like this for almost 10 years now, that's how he manages to play every game of the season without being destroyed or injured by March

Edit: This is like the Cruyff concept about Romario when people said Romario was being lazy, but it was Cruyff ordering him to conserve energy for the couple actions in a game when Romario made a difference in the field

He hasnt been playing like this for 10 years, he doesnt put any pressure on the opposition anymore and even with the ball he barely sprints or runs.

Earlier this season he didnt play like this, the first few matches of the season he played with much more hunger and desire to score and attack.

It's not like Messi is doing nothing. He is playing in the mid field and contributing the team play.

Strategy to use 2 striker up front is allowing Barca to dominate the mid field which they have been unable to do this season
