"We're going to smash them (Crystal Palace)"
Where is the myth coming from that he spent the money on shite? It's quite the opposite.
I think there's only been one casualty in Spain. Maybe two. The Italians seemed to have calmed down. The Premier League is the new Serie A.Dunno about that but it's 6 so far.
Holloway, AVB, Mackay, Clarke, Jol and di Canio.
Aye, it's ridiculous. They showed a stat on SSN earlier showing Brendon Rodgers and Paul Lambert are the joint 3rd longest serving managers in the league at their respective clubs as they've been there a whopping 18 monthsI think there's only been one casualty in Spain. I think that Darren Ferguson is the 9th longest serving manager in England (L2 and up) and he's in his 3rd season!Aye, it's ridiculous. By NEIL ASHTON and RIATH AL-SAMARRAI
- Vincent Tan was angered by Malky Mackay's spending spree in the summer
- Andreas Cornelius, who has yet to score for the club, could cost £10m
- John Brayford, Peter Odemwingie and Gary Medel signings criticised
- Sportsmail reveal image rights and agent fees part of the problem, too
- Mackay and sacked head of recruitment Iain Moody defend investments
- David Kerslake and Joe McBride will take charge for Saturday's game
Indeed, I can't believe anyone can side with Tan on this one.He spent about £30m on Caulker, Medel and Cornelius The first two have been excellent buys and the third has been injured. Cardiff were doing OK until Tan started fecking things about.
If they end up dishing out the extras on the appearance add on's it will mean the player has been successful.
Not to mention a win over Man City too.Indeed, I can't believe anyone can side with Tan on this one.
Medal is looking a very good player.
They had beaten Swansea and drawn with us and were looking good for a fairly comfortable finish.
That email was blatantly leaked by Mackay's people. Unless people were CC'd or BCC'd in, only Mackay and Tan should know about it.Not to mention a win over Man City too.
Tan will get his just deserts because any sane manager will not go anywhere near that job. The way this has all happened publicly, the "resign or sacked" email... It's disgraceful and I haven't seen anything like it in my entire life. At worst you see the sack and then tide tails come out. But to get a day by day commentary on the BBC or wherever is just ludicrous.
You know I'm not so sure... Every single episode in this saga from start to finish has been public. I can't see Mackay doing that. Completely agree logic would state it's from Mackays people, and it certainly is to his benefit I guess. That email was blatantly leaked by Mackay's people. Unless people were CC'd or BCC'd in, only Mackay and Tan should know about it.
Not been in the bottom 3 all season and everything was somewhat rosy up until 2 weeks ago, at least from a regular person's mind bearing in mind this is a newly promoted team.Mackay might have been the right man to get them up, but not the right guy to get them to stay in the Premier League.
Mackay possibly had a hand in this famous email going public but...The way from mid-table to bottom 3 is 3 points as of now. It's so close that you can't really go by that argument.
The rest of your input i can both understand and agree with, i wasn't arguing that Tan is a good owner, just that i Mackay might not have been the guy to make them stay up and push forward and the owner is in all his rights to do what he thinks is necessary to push forward.
And again, it's obviously Mackay who took things public so he could save some face and make Tan look like the only bad guy in all this, when in truth both of them 'deserved each other'.
How can you be so ignorant to what's come forth about onmatter?Mackay possibly had a hand in this famous email going public but...
Cardiff striker Andreas Cornelius is set to return to FC Copenhagen after an unhappy seven-month spell with the Premier League club.
Cornelius joined Cardiff in a £7.5m move in the summer, but has made just 11 appearances, failing to score a single goal, and is expected to rejoin his former club this month.
A Copenhagen statement on twitter read: "The club is close to sign a deal with @CardiffCityFC striker Andreas Cornelius. More to come in the following days."
The recent arrival of Kenwyne Jones has pushed Cornelius further down the pecking order and new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided to recoup some of the money that Cardiff spent on the 20-year-old.
Reports suggest that Cornelius will head back to Denmark in a deal worth around £3m, a hefty loss on a player who also attracted interest from Middlesbrough and CSKA Moscow.
Fellow forward Joe Mason could also be heading away from Cardiff as he has been linked with a loan back to Bolton.

As I said a month ago, some of Mackay's signings were truly shocking. Brayford and Odemwingie have been shown the door already by OGS and Cornelius will follow. Mackay had plenty of support from the media etc but the majority of Cardiff fans I know could see his failings a long time ago.5 of my mates are Cardiff season ticket holders. Their take on the situation is pretty interesting. All of them are of the opinion Vincent Tan is a lunatic for various reasons including the rebrand. However, they all accept that Malky Mackay had gone as far as he could go and the time was right for a change. Some believe he should have been sacked earlier. They all give the opinion of a cracking bloke but a manager who had one style of play which was ultra defensive with no plan B. Shit on a stick and Anti Football is how they describe it. They were under no illusions that this season was going to be easy and to finish in 17th position come May would be a major achievement. They have been moaning about the style of play for over a year but accepted it as they limped over the line to the Premier League.
This season they were full of hope after the owner backed MM in the transfer window and plenty of new faces arrived at the club. It didn't last very long MM and Moody splashed out 10 million on Cornelius and Brayford. A young unknown striker and a full back described by MM as "the best in the championship." Cornelius was injured pre season and still hasn't started a match. In his cameo performances he's looked nothing like a Premier League striker. Brayford was so poor in pre season that MM went out and bought Catherine to play right back and Brayford hasn't even made the bench so far. They then picked up Odemwingie who's been dreadful. To cut a long story short only Caulker and Medel have made an impact and the rest of the money was wasted. So I'm guessing Tan would be pretty pissed at his investment being thrown away.
By the sounds of things MM has played a blinder over the last few weeks getting all the fans and the football world in general behind him whereas Tan has become the evil Pantomime villain with the dodgy dress sense. One other snippet is that everything that has gone on in Cardiff this season has somehow, always been scooped by the Daily Mail. They have had first dibs on all the gossip. Until the leaking of the personal email several names were suspected of being the mole in the camp. Only one man could have leaked the email for personal gain.
Pretty well sums up whats gone onPretty odd to sell someone for such a huge loss so soon afterwards, you'd think they'd at least loan him out to hope he gets some form and attracts more attention by the end of the season first. Can't lose much more than 7.5m > 3m for a 20 year old by the end of the season anyway. Unless he legitmately is just a very poor player.
Still its pretty damning they've got rid of about 12m worth of player they signed in the summer transfer window already, in hindsight based on that I don't think Moody can have many complaints about being sacked as director of football - you have to have some accountability. He might have got Caulker and Medel right but they came with a huge outlay beyond the reach of Cardiff's compeititors.
I think they played Odemwingie as a winger predominantly. How does the arrival of Jones push Cornelius down the pecking order when Jones was swapped in for another forward?
Cornelius has been injured quite a lot hasn't he?
Yea but he's still a forward. Campbell, Bellamy, Jones. Those are his competition. A loan move back to Denmark to get his football boots on wouldn't be bad. When he get's back, Bellamy is probably gone and Jones will have been Jones and about to be 30. Offloading Cornelius would be a big mistake, any way you look at it.I think they played Odemwingie as a winger predominantly.
Cornelius has been fit for over 2 months now and isn't even first choice in the development team. He is just a kid, but Moody and Mackay scouted him and took a massive gamble on raw potential which was clearly over rated. It hasn't taken Ole long to suss out that he isn't of the standard required, especially as he bases his whole ethos on working with young players.Cornelius has been injured most of the season and he's just a kid. It says more about the way Cardiff is being run that they are offloading him for a huge loss already than it does about Malkay's ability in the transfer market.
Brayford cost £1.5 million, it's hardly a huge catastrophe that it didn't work out.
You have to take a few punts at that kind of money when you are the size of Cardiff. They brought in Noone and Kim for similar fees and they look like very shrewd purchases. Sometimes those punts won't work out, but they are needed because they can't go out and buy proven quality like Medel and Caulkner for every position.
