She doesn't seem to be cut from the same cloth as the rest of them. The best of them I'd imagine. From someone who never bothered with anything regarding the royal family and all that bullshit, genuinely curious. How was she as a person? Obviously her husband was a racist twat all those years, so curious what the perception amongst non crazy people are in the UK about her? Did she mainly just do media duties or did she actually do anything.
RESPEKTI just can't come to terms with the fact that football might be postponed. How? Why?
She did a lot. For a start, she had a weekly meeting with the Prime Minister where anything could be discussed. It's been said that because this was all absolutely confidential, the various PMs liked to have the opportunity to use her as a sounding board. She'd met virtually every world leader, she'd seen it all and she was an intelligent woman. From someone who never bothered with anything regarding the royal family and all that bullshit, genuinely curious. How was she as a person? Obviously her husband was a racist twat all those years, so curious what the perception amongst non crazy people are in the UK about her? Neh he's so red and has big puffy hands. Can't see that but who knows.Philip hit a century. Charles has another 20 in him I think
Pretty much this.RIP Queen, served the country with grace for so many years, quite a poignant day.
Even for the crackpots who want to mourn this nonsense, surely gatherings all over the land in the form of football matches is a pretty good platform to do so likeRESPEKT
I hope so, I'd have even less respect for him.probably time to bring it into the 21st century and give himself a mumble rapper type name.
Fair enough. I'm sure parenting people who are "royalty" is quite difficult so hard to put much blame on her for that. She came across as ok? Seemed to do a reasonable job as a monarch. Not so great as a parent. Her kids were pretty fecked up.
I would assume that they have been expecting this for some time. She was unwell.I knew she was done for when the family had to turn up.
They were told to get there because she was on her way out.
Outside of the UK, it'll be news for a day, max two.Huge moment for the nation. The world really. I know we all joke but this will be remembered as one of the most important moments in the 21st Century
i’m only going to remember her as dead. She will be the last Queen of England we will remember alive
I don’t think you realise what a big deal this is for the UK.I just can't come to terms with the fact that football might be postponed. How? Why?
Well she was head of state in 14 other nations so might be a bit of deal there. Granted not for everyone, but the death of the Queen is worldwide news. Will it affect everyone, of course not, but just because something doesn’t affect you doesn’t make it not newsworthy.I mean the British monarchy really isn't that big of a deal outside of Britain, regardless of your (or my) personal view on the matter
Not a chance. The royal weddings are main news items for weeks and weeks, let alone the dead of an icon of our time.Outside of the UK, it'll be news for a day, max two.
Yeah, not like there’s a largest war since ww2 on-going in Europe currently!Huge moment for the nation. The world really. I know we all joke but this will be remembered as one of the most important moments in the 21st Century
Of course it's newsworthy, no doubt. Similar to the Pope dying for example. But it won't be anywhere close to the most significant moments this century for anyone outside of those 15 countries, and likely not even for those insideWell she was head of state in 14 other nations so might be a bit of deal there. Granted not for everyone, but the death of the Queen is worldwide news. Will it affect everyone, of course not, but just because something doesn’t affect you doesn’t make it not newsworthy.
Huw Edwards has been fantastic to be fair, several hours of nothing until the announcementI know a Royal death is a big event but I do find the constant tv coverage mind numbing. Grateful for streaming platforms unlike the olden days.

Where? Maybe on BBC news but otherwise no.Not a chance. The royal weddings are main news items for weeks and weeks, let alone the dead of an icon of our time.

You think so? I think the American press will beg to differ.Outside of the UK, it'll be news for a day, max two.
